They make a significant contribution to local and global trade and also to the national economic development. SMEs have the largest proportion of total Albanian employment, almost 78% of the total number of employed people. They generally face difficulties in financing and investing decisions, globalization, and other matters, mainly because of their inappropriate formal financial reports. These enterprises must prepare adequate financial statements and proper accounts to deal with third parties’ needs and ensure stakeholder’s confidence. This requires financial statements to be prepared by international financial reporting standards (IFRS), national accounting standards, and local government laws. Therefore, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) provided a new standard to ensure the required financial reporting quality for SMEs. For this purpose, the returns to education are investigated under the normal assumptions of Mincer's equation, and later the incorporation of the instrumental variable: school of origin is proposed, in order to correct the problem of endogeneity. Finally, to correct the problem of selection bias, Heckman's technique is used: two-stage regression. This consists of first analyzing the probability of accessing the labor market in the Junin region in terms of variables such as: geographic location, school of origin, age, direct costs. Subsequently, analyzing the return to years of schooling. Likewise, it is important to specify that in the modeling of the probability a second regression is estimated incorporating the variable Academic Grade in order to be able to study the Sheepskin Effect. The results obtained showed that the return to years of schooling is 0.8%, which is not significant and is not corrected for Heckman's selection bias. We also have that the R2 is 10.11% which is very low for this type of cross-sectional data. This result is explained by the degree of rootedness of the graduates in staying in the Huancayo province and the low migration to other labor markets. The study investigates the data of Chinese agricultural listed companies from 2008 to 2017, using multiple regression authors examine the relationship between board characteristic and financial performance. Conducted by authors empirical analysis shows that CEO duality and board size are significantly positively correlated with financial performance (proxies - ROA, ROE, and EPS). Although, contrary to the findings made in Western institutional settings the paper’s results testify that board independence has no significant impact on financial performance in China. The study’s findings enrich the understanding of linkage “board structure–firm performance”, especially in China – institutional settings that have proved to differ in many ways from other jurisdictions. The research data was collected in Vietnam as a developing economy. The empirical results offer a quite comprehensive picture of the causal linkages from the practices of human resource management to employee performance in emerging economies. These complex linkages have been explored at different quantiles of the conditional distribution of employee performance. The findings reveal that at different points of the conditional mean of employee performance, the effects of human resource management practices are different. The current work is helpful to researchers and business directors, especially in emerging countries like Vienam, by providing them with a more comprehensive picture of the multifaceted links from the practices of human resource management to employee performance. Accordingly, they are able to make better business decisions on the implementation of suitable human resource management. Thu","doi":"10.5430/RWE.V12N1P226","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5430/RWE.V12N1P226","url":null,"abstract":"Thanks to the characteristics of an archipelago consisting of many small islands in the East Sea, separated from the mainland, Con Dao has a particularly essential position in politics, military, and economy for Vietnam and many countries in history and present. Due to the abundance and diversity of natural resources, it was located in an important position on international trade routes, since the middle period, Con Dao was not only a favorable place to build centers trade or transshipment warehouse linking the East with the West but also helps to link and shorten the journey to countries within Asia. In the strategic vision of Western countries (from XVII century), Con Dao is an essential point in trade activities, contributing to control and domination of the maritime route from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean as well as to ensure the exclusive right to exploit and accumulate capital in this area. Thus, in the XVII and XIX centuries, both Britain and France competed to monopolize Con Dao towards the goal of gaining an economic and political advantage in the strategy of expanding the sphere of influence outside Europe. In the order for the domestic wine production industry to be competitive, a detailed understanding of the consumer’s buying behavior is a prerequisite. To this end, this study offers an actual perspective of the consumption behavior of wine customers in Tirana region. One of the goals of this paper is to identify and quantify determinants of wine consumption by using a regression model called “Categorical Regression Estimation” for non-numeric response variables. A questionnaire has been designed for this purpose, which is based on the literature but also on the recognition of the customer profile in the country, considering several socio-economic factors. Through 230 face-to-face interviews, the aim is to evaluate the impact on wine consumption of income, age, education, religion, nutrition culture, wine prices, wine origin as well as other socio-demographic factors related to the profile of the consumer. The analysis and interpretation of the results reveal interesting factors that determine the wine consumption. Age, education, income level and price of the wine are the main factors affecting the consumer decision to buy wine. Older people (over 40 years old) represent 1.4 times higher willingness to buy wine relatively to the younger people. Meanwhile, among people with higher income level chances that they will buy wine are 2.15 higher relatively to the people with lower monthly income level.
