In the process of research, the method of comparative analysis was used. Calculation of the available solar radiation was carried out on the basis of the information of the climatological database of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States for coordinates corresponding to the geographical location of Orenburg. Optimal parameters of the solar system are proposed to compensate for the heat losses of a single-chamber vertical cylindrical methane-genesis reactor, the required surface area and the number of solar collectors for each month of the year are determined. In order to reduce the cost of creating a solar system with a large number of solar collectors, a schematic diagram of a heating system for a methane-genesis reactor based on solar collectors and a boiler operating on biogas is proposed. The calculation of biogas savings for each month of the year is made using the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":263504,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Ural Conference on Green Energy (UralCon)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115557108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Russia, the potential of renewable energy sources is also very large. But the use of this potential is rather small because of the widespread opinion about the complexity and a high cost of the implementation of such projects. The article presents the results of the research into the gross and technical potential of the small hydropower industry in the Chelyabinsk Oblast. The authors proposed a technique based on the statistical analysis of flow characteristics, which makes it possible to identify the regions that are homogeneous in statistical terms and to combine individual samples of observations on small rivers into one analyzed set. A map-scheme of the hydropower zoning of the Chelyabinsk Oblast is presented. The hydropower potential of the pressure hydropower facilities of the Chelyabinsk Oblast has been determined. Two options for the reconstruction of the HPP on the Bolshaya Satka river are proposed: the first option is the reservoired HPP, attached to the existing pressure waterworks facility at the river outlet from Zyuratkul Lake; The second option is the reconstruction of a previously existing diversion HPP downstream. The economic evaluation of the effectiveness of these projects is given based on the indicators of investment analysis and the levelized cost of electricity. The possibility of realizing effective small HPPs with a capacity from 5 to 25 MW in the Chelyabinsk Oblast is substantiated.","PeriodicalId":263504,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Ural Conference on Green Energy (UralCon)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114621977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This methodology makes it possible to define the configuration and parameters of power units based on both renewable and conventional energy sources, energy storage facilities, electric energy converters (rectifiers, invertors, stabilisers, etc.) and the connection scheme for the EC energy sources that is optimal for the given geographic and climatic conditions, and the consumer mix, characteristics, and operation modes. The algorithms and methodology were developed based on a review of the functional links and variable parameters of hybrid energy complexes and using known mathematical methods for solving optimisation problems. On the basis of the algorithms and methodology developed, a dynamic simulation model of EC operation modes was created using the Simulink 8 block modular visual simulation software of the MATLAB R2013b matrix system, which model is used to optimise the EC configuration and parameters and to graphically visualise the energy inflow, generation, storage and consumption processes.","PeriodicalId":263504,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Ural Conference on Green Energy (UralCon)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123025614","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an example, the results of various options for the development of an energy complex, suiting Kenya conditions, are presented: a low power nuclear plant having two power units with modular SVBR-100 reactors and a liquid-metal coolant-lead-bismuth alloy-of 100 MW, the creation of which is completed by the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom, and a hydro power plant having two hydro-generators each with a capacity of 30 MW. As a result of the project implementation, the parameters and types of the main equipment of the energy complex (generators, transformers, hydro turbines) have been determined, the options for the power output scheme of the energy complex and schemes of the auxiliaries have also been proposed. The calculation of short-circuit currents has been performed and the types and parameters of the necessary modern electro-technical equipment for the energy blocks have been determined. The possibility of creating promising energy complexes with hydro and nuclear power plants with low-power nuclear reactors has been justified.","PeriodicalId":263504,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Ural Conference on Green Energy (UralCon)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123681995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When implementing new methods for the production of electric and thermal energy, designing of an appropriate device presents a challenge. The article describes the process of creating of such a device using the engineering and physical method of search design. The method involves constructing a model of the physical principle of operation and defining elementary functions of the structural elements associated with the model. This allows obtaining a large variety of possible options for technical solutions of the desired device, followed by the determination of the most promising options for the implementation using computing. Thus, the development of design options for a new device is reduced to a deterministic sequence of actions, leading to lower qualification requirements to the developers of new products. The theoretical foundations of the method can also be used for teaching students and novice designers. A device has been developed where the collateral energy, which is developed when receiving electric power, is used for obtaining thermal energy, with the electric power produced being redistributed for additional water heating by means of an adaptive control system in the absence of need for the use thereof by external consumers. This increases the efficiency of the plant. Owing to a more effective use of the thermal and electric energy received when fuel is combusted, the energy efficiency and functionality of the system increase generally. A prototype is designed and made for the pilot study of the device developed, which consists of a gasoline electric generator, a heat exchanger, a TEH (thermal electric heater), and pumps, as well as a control system on the basis of a microcontroller and sensors. The forward estimate of the operability of the plant developed has been carried out and also the influence of various factors on the efficiency of water heating has been investigated.","PeriodicalId":263504,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Ural Conference on Green Energy (UralCon)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121615819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A significant part of this consumer category is located in the Arctic regions, with permafrost grounds. The problem of wind power plant construction in such conditions is connected with the foundation design on the permafrost soils. There is a significant native experience in civil and industrial design and construction, which is reflected in the corresponding regulations. However, a wind power plant with a permafrost foundation differs from permafrost-based civil and industrial buildings in terms of mechanical loading and composition efforts. The construction of the wind power plant with a permafrost foundation has a number of peculiarities, associated with the specific loads, transferred from the installation on the basis of: presence of a complex dynamic and fluctuating loads on the rotation of the wind turbine and the nacelle and wind gusts; rotation coordinates efforts related to the orientation of the nacelle to the wind; availability of temporary loads of wind turbine icing on the construction. This paper is dedicated to the accounting of this specificity for the design of the foundation loads for the wind power plant on permafrost, as well as the justification of the selected solution.","PeriodicalId":263504,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Ural Conference on Green Energy (UralCon)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124031823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
