Abstract

The article substantiates the possibility of reducing a diesel engine fuel consumption in a multifunctional energy complex by optimizing speed regime. An optimization technique, based on minimizing the functional dependence of the brake specific fuel consumption on load and speed, using mathematical methods for an extremum searching, is proposed, and an algorithm for the operation of the automatic speed control system of the generator set is justified. The results of theoretical, computational and experimental studies on optimizing the diesel engine speed in the multifunctional energy complex are presented, taking into account the characteristics of the variable speed generator, the frequency converter and the engine waste heat utilization system.
