Moreover, as coal mining causes groundwater leakage, excessive groundwater exploitation has greatly intensified surface settlement in DATONG City. The paper uses 8 cog-nominal ERS-1/2 SAR data frames obtained during 1992 to 2003 period, obtained 84 deformation fields. Of the 84 sites for preliminary interference, 44 sites belong to mining subsidence, 23 urban subsidences and 17 landslides. The total coverage area of deformation amounts to 1824.4km2, which is almost equivalent to the total area of the DATONG coalfield. However, it usually suffers from inaccuracy of the shapes of segmentation results and slow adaptation to the current situation. In this paper, we present an improved TBM that solves the two problems. To solve the first problem, a spatially weighted LBP histogram (SWLH) is proposed to be the feature vector and a simple shadow removing method is introduced. When dealing with the second one, we use an adaptive learning rate for each model LBP histogram and maintain multiple frame level models to process sudden illumination changes. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the original TBM.","PeriodicalId":263281,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121525469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It adopts LD as the light source and PSD to detect the position of laser spot. In this system, such unfavorable factors as background light, dark current of PSD, environmental temperature and electromagnetic noise can reduce the accuracy of the practical measurement system and result in the phenomenon of drift. This paper presents a method of signal processing for LD-PSD system based on square-wave modulation to improve the system accuracy. The factors affecting measurement precision are analyzed and some general methods are introduced. The key for the implementation of the method is the selection of the standard deviation of the LoG kernel. After LoG filter convolution on a chest radiograph image, regions of high circularity in the image are enhanced, while other regions are suppressed, and thus the contrast between nodules and normal anatomy is improved. With respect to other methods, the main advantage of LoG filter based method is that no prior explicit knowledge about the actual shape of the nodules and structure of image background is needed. The methods have been tested on a publicly available database of 52 chest radiographs, in which the absence and presence of nodules in the chest radiographs were confirmed by use of CT examinations. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method in enhancing lung nodules in chest radiographs is efficient and effective.","PeriodicalId":263281,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128159039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
