Cross-dipole array acoustic well logging technology breaks the restriction that shear waves could not be measured in soft formations. The cross-dipole acoustic data can be used to study the formation anisotropy. This paper presents an example of cross-dipole application of Multi- Pole Acoustic Logging (MPAL) tool made in China. The four- component cross-dipole data is processed and analyzed. The output slowness of fast shear waves and slow shear waves, anisotropy, azimuth of fast shear waves and slow shear waves are used to evaluate the azimuthal anisotropy around borehole.","PeriodicalId":263281,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128240716","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It adds new content and method to the development and application of holography. On the basis of theory analysis and practical experiment, a new method that combined double-exposure holographic interferometry with digital image processing, and combined CCD with EALCD is used in micro-displacement measurement. In my paper, I have studied the application condition of CCD/EALCD in digital holographic interferometry and have tried to do some digital image processing onto the hologram. Concerning off-axis holographic recording system, I have analyzed the fundamentals and conditions of CCD recording and the EALCD reconstruction. Simultaneously, I have also tried to process the holograms with digital image processing technique, and achieved better reconstruction results. Finally, I got the interference fringes successfully and calculated micro-displacement of object by the interference fringes.","PeriodicalId":263281,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128270572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, a credible start point is designed taking use of the view-temporal correlation of neighboring motion and disparity vectors. Secondly, an improved searching strategy is proposed to reduce the computational complexity, in which only 2-pixel refinement is needed around the start point. The proposed algorithm can get both motion vector and disparity vector during one estimation process. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can reduce up to 96% coding time compared with inter-view full search with a negligible quality drop. To begin with, we extracted ridge lines from fingerprints, and three phases were performed to match the ridge lines between two fingerprints. In the first phase, an inaccurate set of matched line pairs were built by matching the local quadrangle set (LQS). In the second phase, the fake pairs were removed from the set by evaluating the correlation among the pairs. A decision for the two fingerprints coming from the same finger or not could be made based on the shrunken set in case there were enough pairs in the set, otherwise the set was extended by adding the possible matched pairs that failed matching in the first phase so that a more reliable decision could be made. Experiments using the FVC2002 (Fingerprint verification competition 2000) databases show that the proposed algorithm is effective.","PeriodicalId":263281,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128627550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wavelet multi-scale analysis is used to decompose the image signal to different direction sub-image. It studies the different direction sub-pictorial information under the corresponding criterion by wavelet's auto-adapted Wiener filter, and enhances the image by parallel form. Through the estimation of the model parameter, combining wavelet's auto-adapted Wiener filter to denoise its corresponding coefficient of scale and its coefficient of wavelet, the enhanced image is obtained by wavelet reconstructing. DE proves exceptionally useful in solving complex optimization problems which cannot be solved by conventional mathematical programming methods. By using the PRI search of least-square trace prediction, we establish a trace-fitting model based on probability and statistics. By setting the predicted position as the highest priority, the predication of movement direction as the criterion of prioritization, our method not only increases the search efficiency, but also reduces the drop alarm ratio. Then, we discuss the problem of the trace-fitting length limitation caused by the allowable continuous losing frames in the process of trace prediction. Through establishing the corresponding model, we improve the accuracy of the trace prediction, and obtain an optimal solution of the target trace-fitting number of frames.","PeriodicalId":263281,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129356805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the principle of spike timing dependent plasticity of spiking neurons and the ON/OFF pathways in the visual system, a spiking neural network is proposed to remember key features of visual images. The simulation results show that the network is capable of remembering key features according to a learning rule based on spike timing dependent plasticity. The principle of the network can be used to explain how a spiking neuron-based system can store the key features of visual images. Generally speaking, a human hand, as a typical articulated structure, has 15 joints and high dimensionality with 26DOFs, which makes it very difficult for real time tracking. A novel approach is presented in this paper. Firstly, a basic concept, sigma point, is defined, and the way to acquire the Sigma points of a state variable is presented and further proved in detail. Then, the global human hand tracking algorithm is put forward, which combine Sigma points and optimized selection based upon particle weights. In order to improve robustness to changing light conditions, a new skin model is proposed which is based on skin luminance.
