In order to analyse the effect of thermal shock on the measurement of piezoelectric pressure sensors, a rectangular pulse temperature of 1800 ℃ with a duration of 30 ms was applied to the surface of the sensor diaphragm by the method of thermal coupling, and the temperature distribution inside the sensor under transient thermal excitation was explored, and the thermal expansion displacement and preload change of the sensor were analysed. The results show that: the temperature rise of the piezoelectric crystal is small and does not reach the Curie point temperature, which has less influence on the material properties of the piezoelectric crystal; the thermal shock response of the piezoelectric pressure sensor is mainly caused by the thermal deformation of the pressure-sensing diaphragm, which affects the stability of the preload inside the sensor and leads to a negative signal output from the sensor. This study provides a reference for the research of thermal shock suppression methods for piezoelectric pressure sensors.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"159 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To determine the spatial torsion angle of the cables, a scale-reduced suspender bridge model was fabricated and tested in this study. The cable torsion angles of the bridge model under different loading cases were obtained and presented. Theoretical methods (e.g., the coordinate method and the angle method) to calculate the spatial cable torsion angle in the suspender bridge were developed by analyzing the deforming characteristics of the suspender cables. The feasibility and predictive accuracy of the proposed methods were assessed using the experimental results. Results show that the proposed coordinate and angle methods produced similar torsion angles for the main cables, showing a maximum relative error of 10.4 %. Compared to the coordinate method's complex data transformation and measurement procedures, the angle method is more convenient, efficient, and easier to calculate the torsion angle of the main cable. Despite the capability of calculating the spatial cable torsion angles, the coordinate method also exhibits advanced capability in determining the geometric curves of the main cable under different spatial angles.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper introduces a methodology for transforming raw vibration signals into adequate inputs for machine learning classification algorithms in order to identify present faults in rotating machinery. It complements a previous study by the same authors, which covers the processing of vibrational signals by determining the optimal sampling frequency and using appropriate filters for the raw data. The first part of this study covers feature extraction using time and frequency-domain techniques and correlation matrices are plotted to determine which extracted features are significantly connected and what is the level of their correlation. The study continues with the use of Neighborhood Component Analysis (NCA) where weight factors of the features are calculated in terms of recognizing the present rotating machinery faults. Only the ones with the highest level of importance have been used as input for the classification algorithms. The MATLAB Add-in Classification Learner has been used for training and testing various classification algorithms. K-nearest neighbors classifier (KNN), Support vector machines (SVM), and Wide Neural Network (NN) showed the highest accuracy in distinguishing ten different fault conditions. For this case study, the MaFaulda vibration dataset has been used and ten operating conditions have been considered: normal, imbalance, horizontal misalignment, vertical misalignment, and three faults in the underhang bearing and the overhang bearing.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This change can lead to additional stress affecting the modal parameters for specific structures, making it much harder to detect, locate, and evaluate damage accurately. The current research aims to describe a method for detecting transverse cracks in beams, considering temperature variations. The considered beam is fixed at both ends, thus inducing axial forces when the temperature is increased. The influence of temperature is considered using adjustment coefficients developed for each vibration mode. This coefficient can be used to accurately calculate the natural frequency for an intact or damaged beam. An analytical method for determining the natural frequencies caused by the changing temperature and the presence of a transverse crack is described and used to generate data for training a feedforward artificial neural network (ANN). The ANN’s capability of determining the position of transverse cracks in double-clamped beams subjected to small temperature changes is proven by creating numerical simulations with known crack positions and thermal conditions for testing the developed method.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to enhance the seismic performance of prefabricated concrete frame structures, concealed steel angle connections for prefabricated frame beams and columns are employed. Based on experimental research on the force performance of these connection nodes, a finite element model of the connection node is established using ABAQUS software to analyze the influence of design parameters on the force performance of the specimen. The analysis indicates that upgrading the concrete grade from C25 to C55 increases the positive bearing capacity by 12.3 %. The specimen’s energy dissipation capacity and stiffness are both improved. Increasing the thickness of the steel cover plate can enhance the specimen's bearing capacity, stiffness, and energy dissipation capacity. Increasing the angle steel thickness from 4 mm to 10 mm results in a 27.78 % increase in negative bearing capacity, consequently enhancing the specimen’s energy dissipation capacity. By increasing the bolt diameter from 16 mm to 24 mm, the positive bearing capacity increases by 8.2 %, and the negative bearing capacity increases by 10.9 %. The energy dissipation capacity and stiffness of the specimen also improve accordingly.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel method for site liquefaction time identification is proposed. One-dimensional and two-dimensional non-linear site response analysis models are established, and real liquefaction cases are studied to compare and analyze the two methods. The results demonstrate that the error function effectively identifies the moments when the frequency of the time-frequency curve of ground acceleration undergoes rapid changes, enabling the identification of site liquefaction time.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If the use of fly ash is used for filling, the purpose of reducing the weight of the subgrade and consuming a large amount of industrial solid waste can be achieved. In order to ensure that fly ash has the possibility of filling, it is necessary to systematically study the road geotechnical properties of fly ash. In this paper, the low liquid limit silty silica-alumina fly ash is taken as the research object, and the road geotechnical properties of fly ash are studied through laboratory tests. The results of the compaction test show that the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content have an obvious linear relationship with the increase in the proportion of fly ash. Small, conducive to the stability of the roadbed. The shear strength of fly ash mainly depends on the internal friction angle, which is much larger than that of ordinary clay. The above test conclusions can provide reference for scientific and economical treatment of fly ash subgrade.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Newmark sliding block method is utilized to calculate lateral displacements, and a sensitivity analysis model for liquefaction-induced lateral spreading is developed by considering multiple parameters. Based on the three most influential parameters identified through sensitivity analysis, a novel liquefaction-induced lateral spreading prediction model is proposed. The reliability of this new model is then demonstrated by comparing it with existing classical prediction models, as well as by analyzing correlation coefficients and root mean square errors.","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present research is devoted to a novel twin crank-type exciter driven by a permanent-magnet direct-current motor. The research methodology consists of mathematical modeling and computer simulation of the dynamic behavior of a single-mass oscillatory system equipped with the proposed exciter. The obtained results substantiate the possibilities of generating rectilinear, elliptical, and circular oscillations of the working member by applying the corresponding design changes of the transformable vibration exciter. The major scientific novelty of the carried-out investigations consists in determining the influence of specific design parameters of the exciter on the trajectory (path) of the working member motion. The obtained results can have a significant practical value while designing new and improving existent drives of various vibratory equipment (screens, conveyors, sieves, compactors, technological (lapping, polishing) machines, etc.).","PeriodicalId":262664,"journal":{"name":"Vibroengineering PROCEDIA","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
