The study used a survey research design. A researcher-designed questionnaire and an adapted checklist from the National Commission for Colleges of Education, Minimum Standard (2012) for data collection. Mean and simple percentages were used to analyze the research questions. A total of 286 lecturers were proportionately sampled from Federal College of Education, Kano and Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, Kano, which were purposively selected for the study. A reliability value of 0.72 was obtained for the frequency of utilization instrument using Cronbach Alpha. The findings revealed that the two Colleges of Education have almost all of the ICT resources required by National Commission of Colleges of Education (NCCE) in Nigeria. The findings also revealed that lecturers’ frequency of use of ICT resources for instruction was not fully encouraged. The study concluded that Colleges of Education in Kano state have basic ICT resources as required by NCCE. The study therefore recommended, among others, that government and school management should provide an enabling environment, such as the provision of infrastructure facilities, internet connectivity, and stable power supply, among others.","PeriodicalId":262421,"journal":{"name":"Sokoto Educational Review","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131461873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was administered to 225 parents and teachers in 21 junior secondary schools in Maiduguri, Borno state that were affected in the activities of Boko Haram in the metropolis. The responses to the questionnaire were summarized using percentages. Chi-square was computed to test for differences in responses on the impact of insecurity on school attendance. The students were found the level of school attendance under the crisis situation in Maiduguri metropolis has been low but that of male students seems to be lower than that of female students. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. Two hundred and seventy-nine (279) students randomly selected from selected Senior Secondary Schools in Ogbomoso area of Oyo State participated in the study. The instrument used for r the study was the Students' Academic Efficacy Scale with reliability co-efficient of 0.76. Subjecting the data collected to statistical analysis, student t-test was used. Four hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The results showed that male students were more self-efficacious than their female counterparts. Also, the students who are older than being in secondary school (especially SS 1 & SS2), aged 17 years and above had lower self-efficacy than students aged 17 years and below. However, significant difference did not occur among the students based on subject combinations and parental educational qualifications. The outcomes of the study were fully discussed and suggestions were made for further studies.","PeriodicalId":262421,"journal":{"name":"Sokoto Educational Review","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114552903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
