Bad road conditions often cause damages to vehicles and passengers that cannot be neglected. Some of the major factors that cause damage are potholes, speed-breakers, uneven patches etc. The presence of such abnormalities also affects ride quality and safety of passengers. The paper describes a low-cost method that employs a smartphone and an OBD-II module to detect and locate potholes on roads. It utilizes vision data, sensor data and OBD data to create and validate triggers caused by potholes. The image-triggered and data-triggered methods proposed recognize potholes on roads and create a trigger through image/video processing and data processing respectively. The procedure of model order reduction is adopted to reduce the complexity in controller design. A MPC strategy is developed using MATLAB MPC tool for a benchmark level control problem of a three interacting tank process, where the level of third tank is controlled by manipulating input flow rate to the first tank. In MATLAB, various fractional order systems are defined with the help of FOMCON toolbox. The inclusion of common ground in the z-source converter increases the gain further and reduces the voltage stress on switch and diodes. A new topology is being introduced by modifying the basic common grounded z-source converter circuit. Analysis of the proposed converter showed significant increase in gain compared to the basic common grounded topology. Design equations of the new topology have been derived including efficiency calculations. Simulation results are also observed to verify the performance. The major limitation of edge computing is the non-availability of a open-source platforms-as-a- service for various applications across cloud and edge. ECHO(an adaptive orchestration platform for streaming hybrid data flows across cloud and edge) attempts to fill this gap . It enables streaming data flows across distributed resources where user tasks are represented as vertices in a directed acyclic graph (DAG) and edges represent the routing channels between data and tasks. These DAGs are executed upon data arrival. ECHO’s current scheduler schedules jobs using round robin algorithm. This paper proposes improvement in ECHO’s scheduler. We consider current device health before scheduling dataflow in ECHO. The proposed scheduling algorithm makes use of CPU utilization and memory utilization as parameters. This paper deals with the design and analysis of a POL system, for a space application fed from a 12V source, at 500 kHz. For a specific parameter of the unused electrons, the geometry of electrodes and potential on electrodes has been optimized to enhance the total efficiency of the gyrotron amplifier. The electrostatic analysis of depressed collector to trace the spent electrons trajectories is done by using FTDT based Particle-In-Cell simulation tool \"MAGIC 3D\". The existing Internet Security protocols cannot be conformed for IoT entities due to their heterogeneity and resource constrained nature. Thus, there is a requirement of trust management systems as trust grants an IoT entity the ability to differentiate and govern the information disclosure in the network which ensures privacy and security. This paper proposes an Enhanced Dirichlet Trust Management Algorithm for healthcare domain which ensures reliable trust evaluation by considering direct observations and recommendations. The functional properties of the nodes form a key part of the algorithm. The existing Dirichlet algorithm has been enhanced by introducing Neighbour Node detection mechanism which helps to grant initial estimates of trust values to the nodes in the network. Weak coherent pulse source is a practical, efficient and robust solution to generate stream of single photons, probabilistically. In this paper, a methodology for design and development of weak coherent pulse (WCP) source with high count rate of upto 10 Mcps is proposed and implemented. The generation of optical pulses with narrow pulse width and repetition rate of up to 100 MHz is achieved by developing a miniaturized pulse laser module. The weak coherent pulses are generated by heavily attenuating the laser pulses so as to reach the mean photon no. per pulse, µ, close to 0.1. WCP source performance in terms of mean photon number, second order coherence and photon count rate is also investigated.
