The paper focuses on the possibility of long-term measurement of QKD system parameters using the COW protocol. For the measurement, an own developed system for monitoring the basic parameters of the Clavis 3 commercial system from the ID Quantic company was used. Since the stability of the quantum transmission systems can be influenced mainly by environmental influences, such as daylight shining on optical patch cables, the developed system will be used to monitor the stability of parameters in real conditions.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129957253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We aimed to classify Parkinson's disease patients versus healthy control subjects. We used for experimentation a real dataset that contains Gait characteristics extracted using inertial motion sensors from a smartphone (iPhone 5S). Sixty people participated in this experiment, 53 of whom were people with Parkinson's disease. We implemented feature selection methods to reduce dimensionality. Furthermore, we implemented four classification algorithms and evaluated them based on their accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. The Support Vector Machine algorithm obtained an overall accuracy of 97.5%, a sensitivity of 95.3%, and a specificity of 99.8%.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129510371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since one of our main core businesses is selling bandwidth of our fiber optics network, it is essential for us to monitor the network status of the bandwidth and its topology. The currently used internal tool is limited to check the bandwidth of a single node and we run the risk to discover band or topology related issues when it is too late: when an operator makes a specific band request. This is the reason why we developed and implemented an algorithm to perform a series of sanity checks over the whole network. Our internal tool has been extended and integrated with this new algorithm. We discuss our problem, the solution and its final implementation integrated inside our novel web application tool.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127788118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It appears quite difficult to obtain a robust approach able to generate a fast algorithm in order to analyze several audio flows at the same time. In this paper, we compare the results obtained using a specific improvement of an algorithm we recently proposed against several baseline approaches. Specifically, we introduced an approach based on Multi-Index Hashing which permits to improve noticeably speed in fingerprints searching also on very large datasets. Experimental results, performed using the MTG-Jamendo dataset, containing more then 50, 000 songs, show our approach outperform the others jointly considering performance parameters: accuracy, precision and query time.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128155136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More and more vehicles are encountered on the road that have Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) installed to perform complex operations while driving. They constantly monitor the environment around the vehicle and reduce the risk of traffic accidents. In this paper, the ADAS solution for estimating the distance of detected pedestrians and drawing a 2D top-view map of their positions in the vicinity of the vehicle is proposed. The solution processes frames simultaneously captured by four cameras located on different sides of the vehicle. It is developed using the C programming language and finally implemented on a real ADAS embedded platform. The proposed solution achieved high performance when tested on video sequences captured by real automotive cameras. Furthermore, it is capable of processing 15 frames per second when operating with state-of-the-art automotive camera resolutions.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116370957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The compliance assessment with current guidelines and standards for limiting human exposure to EM fields up to 300 GHz by means of incident power density (IPD) is provided at separation distances between the model and antenna ranging from 2.5 to 150 mm. The effect of the curvature of the average adult and child head on the IPD is investigated on a control surface of 4 cm2. Results stemming from stochastic analysis indicate marginal difference between the spatially averaged IPD on the two distinct head models. On the other hand, comparative analysis of the spatially averaged IPD on the least and most curved body parts points to relative differences of up to 20% in certain exposure scenarios. Overall, spherical head models yield significantly higher values of the spatially averaged IPD (up to 25%) compared to standard planar models. It is therefore important to consider the inherent curvature of the nonplanar exposed body parts (e.g., head) to accurately assess targeted exposure quantities.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115406591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such performance metrics are significant for the performance evaluation of a VANET since they can be used by telecom engineers to ensure the required quality of service. Both queueing models have been studied under two scenarios: a) a vehicle communicates with a gNodeB directly (vehicle-to-infrastructure communication) and b) a vehicle communicates with other vehicles on the road (vehicle-to-vehicle communication) in order to transmit indirectly its request to the destination gNodeB. Under both scenarios we show that the M(N)/M/c model provides better results both in terms of throughput and delay.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130278254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The assessment was made at home, that is, when young people potentially watch movies on their laptops. The video signal was assessed by young viewers who were not experts in the field of quality assessment. The tests were performed taking into account different image resolutions and different bitrates. The results obtained show that the best quality for the H.265 standard was obtained for a minimum bitrate of 3000 kbps, while the value of 2000 kbps already provides acceptable image quality. In the remaining tested coding standards, the bitrates are higher and amount to 4000 and 2500 kbps, respectively.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"168 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132050221","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, adopting such tools depends on the usefulness of the information provided regarding the needs of practitioners. While the needs of developers have been well-researched, the needs of managers are not getting as much attention. [Aims] This study provides an in-depth analysis of the needs of software practitioners involved in managerial decision-making from one organization that performs research, development, and innovation projects with industry partners. [Method] We identified and represented such needs as use cases by interviewing people in leadership positions and analyzing the collected data using Grounded Theory coding techniques, i.e., open and selective coding. [Results] Our analysis resulted in 19 software analytics use cases which we classified into four dimensions: quality, people, project management, and knowledge management. The use cases in the quality and project management dimensions were the most mentioned ones. [Conclusions] Although our results are particularly relevant to organizations similar to the one described herein, they aim to serve as input for implementing new analytics solutions by practitioners and researchers.","PeriodicalId":261625,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133267141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
