Stages of execution and supervision of activities were approached to present the interferences and gains that the area of PPC (Planning, Programming and Control) of activities provides for the entire evaluation process. The work was supported by a bibliographical research that supported all the stages discussed in this monograph. This case study has professional and academic justification, as it aligns with the market's perspective,which requires companies to be competitive, competitive and profitable. The theory was validated in industrial practice, as gains were proven (effectiveness, optimization of time and resources, customer satisfaction, among others) that were possible through the integration of a PPC cell with other stages of the process ( Origin of demand, definition of costs, execution and control of activities). The results obtained are consistent with the theoretical framework and demonstrate that it is possible to make improvements for the PPC sector (reduction of corrective maintenance, increased productivity, improvements in process flow, reduction of rework, avoided costs) in processes with an engaged PPC.","PeriodicalId":260363,"journal":{"name":"Revista Científica Faesa","volume":"332 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138996663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Created by teachers for teachers, the program contains four stages: Planning; Development of relevant teaching material; Execution of virtual training; and personalized pedagogical consultancy. This methodology brought significant results: 153 teachers trained (initial target of 100 teachers); 1 e-book, entitled “Guide to learning assessment using rubrics”; 1 video tutorial about the use of rubrics in learning assessment using the Rubrics tool in AVA FAESA; and 1 video lesson called Promoting equity in assessment: using rubrics to correct academic works. Analysis of the results indicated the relevance of the topic for higher education, where the use of academic work as an evaluation strategy is recurrent. Continuity, revisiting and improvement of the program are suggested, aiming at comprehensive teachers training.","PeriodicalId":260363,"journal":{"name":"Revista Científica Faesa","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138997861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many professionals find it challenging to comprehend scientific literature, translate and apply the knowledge presented in the articles. Therefore, this study aims to develop a reading guide for scientific articles to assist students of Biological Sciences and Health courses. To achieve this objective, two undergraduate students and a university professor dedicated themselves to reading scientific articles, noting the challenges, and discussing hypotheses to improve the process of reading and understanding the texts. Following this process, the Reading Guide for Scientific Articles was developed, which includes instructions on time management, environmental organization, and notes on the primary structures of scientific articles and how to interpret them. Despite the limitations of this study, it can be concluded that guided reading of scientific articles can enhance comprehension, and the Reading Guide can be a valuable tool for professors and students to better engage with scientific literature.","PeriodicalId":260363,"journal":{"name":"Revista Científica Faesa","volume":"121 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138999734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also known as e-cigarettes, vapes, or pods, these portable devices heat liquids to produce inhalable vapor, which typically contains propylene glycol, glycerin, flavorings, and often nicotine. These devices can pose health risks as they contain lead derivatives, carcinogenic agents, and cytotoxic substances. However, there is emerging evidence that vaping devices can introduce high levels of dangerous chemicals into the body and cause severe lung injuries. The involvement of smoking in the progression of periodontal diseases and its impact on the periodontal ligament and gum cells result in detrimental effects on oral health, making them the primary targets. Therefore, the objective of this study was toconduct a literature review on the implications of electronic devices on oral health. It is crucial for dentists to stay updated on this information so that they can guide their patients in the care and prevention of avoiding or minimizing the damage caused by the use of these devices. In conclusion, electronic cigarettes are harmful to oral health and are not considered safe.","PeriodicalId":260363,"journal":{"name":"Revista Científica Faesa","volume":"33 131","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138998978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This sickness is caused by the espiroqueta Treponema pallidum bacteria, and the transmission has been observed to occur through two different ways: sexualy (a.k.a. \"adquirida\") or congenitally. This bacterial sickness has the potential to bring severe complications by reaching multiple organs and systems. When it reaches the nervous system, the sickness is called neurosyphilis, for an exemple. The general goal of this research is to investigate the procedures and the challenges of the nursery in the public health centers in Vitória (ES) in order to: recognize possible problems; to put together hypothetical actions; and to come up with strategies that are connected to an educational approach with this population so they can understand how important it is for men to have self care and how efficiente a bunch of simple actions can be in the fight of syphilis. This is a quantitative study and it is mainly based on an descriptive research that was extracted from interviews with nineteen nurses who where selected randomly in an non- probabilistic approach using the \"snowball\" method. This study runs it interviews in the Google Forms web app. Once the data is properly analyzed, and once the didactical material is already done, published and distributed, by the end of this research, the expected results is the didactical material to become a truly rich support in the fight of this sickness and, why not, the decreasing of the transmission as this population acquires the proper preventive habits.","PeriodicalId":260363,"journal":{"name":"Revista Científica Faesa","volume":"6 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139001237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the National Cancer Institute (INCA), over 11,000 new cases of oral cancer were reported in 2022. This particular type of cancer can be identified as either squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), or epidermoid carcinoma. Within this context, the primary objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive literature review focusing on the differential diagnoses of SCC and its distinctive characteristics. To achieve this, we conducted searches in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), PubMed, and LILACS databases usingthe following terms: \"oral cancer,\" \"differential diagnosis and squamous cell carcinoma,\" \"head and neck squamous cell carcinoma,\" and \"head and neck squamous cell carcinoma,\" encompassing the period between 2004 and 2023. Among the contributing risk factors are tobacco consumption, excessive alcohol intake, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, and prolonged sun exposure. Notably, smoking emerges as one of the principal risk factors, elevating the risk of SCC development up to threefold for smokers. In conclusion, the management of oral cancer necessitates a comprehensive approach encompassing preventive measures, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate treatment. Moreover, distinguishing oral cancer from other conditions that might manifest similar symptoms remains a critical aspect of effective management.","PeriodicalId":260363,"journal":{"name":"Revista Científica Faesa","volume":"239 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138997104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
