The system is designed to serve as an experimental test facility for investigating flight dynamics principles, model validation and different feedback control paradigms. A high fidelity plant model is an important first step in many flight related applications such as control system design, analyses and pilot training. To achieve this objective a detailed study is conducted employing analytical as well as system identification techniques. Analytical approach although less accurate complements system identification process. This synergy is exploited along with statistical and time domain tests to arrive at a high fidelity model. It is argued that such an integrated approach is suitable for modelling a class of unmanned air vehicles. The SI model is then employed for controller synthesis. Finally, real-time pitch control under stick command is demonstrated utilising classical PI control law.","PeriodicalId":259890,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences & Technology","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114995140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach results in reduction in latency & hardware. In this article, the implementation of trace back unit using pre-traceback approach is presented. While this arrangement is most practical and convenient from design point of view, it suffers a serious setback in that it offers large RCS in the direction of antenna main-beam. This paper presents the design and testing of an offset-beam antenna for low RCS applications. A linear traveling wave antenna is designed at Ku-band. It consists of 18 radiating slots cut in the broadwall of the waveguide. A 25 dB Taylor aperture distribution is used to reduce sidelobes. The antenna is simulated and optimized using high frequency structure simulator (HFSS) software. Manufacturing of the antenna was done using high precision CNC milling machine. After assembly, the antenna was characterized by measuring its scattering parameters and radiation pattern. Measured results are fairly close to the theoretically predicted and simulated results. Gain of the antenna is 15.0 dB over a bandwidth of 500 MHz. Power absorbed into the load is 20% and return loss is below -30 dB. First side lobe level (SLL) is 23.5 dB down and azimuth beam width is 7.0deg with beam pointing at an offset angle of 20deg in azimuth plane.","PeriodicalId":259890,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences & Technology","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114301848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The LNA is also tunable within each band and the tuning is incorporated by on-chip varactors. The test chip consists of two fully integrated narrow-band tunable LNAs along with SPDT switch. For power saving one LNA can be switched off. The technology process is 0.2 mum GaAs offered by OMMIC. The LNA can achieve a relatively good performance over the two bands as demonstrated by simulation. With a 3V supply, the LNA has a gain of 26.2 dB at 2.4 GHz and 21.8 dB at 5.2 GHz and the corresponding NF varies between 2.07 dB and 1.84 dB, respectively. These techniques range from Helmert's 2nd method of condensation to Residual terrain modeling and then to the Molodenskij solution of the geodetic boundary value problem. The available data for gravity anomalies, elevation and their distribution within Pakistan requires careful study and selection from these solution methods. This study involves the comparison and discussion of different geoid modeling techniques with the geoid determined from GPS / Leveling data. Each of the above mentioned techniques has some advantages and drawbacks due to their data requirement, computational technique and validation of results. This calibration study will help to establish the selection of the suitable method for extended study of geoid model all over Pakistan. These techniques were implemented and tested in central area of Pakistan having diverse landscape with elevation range from 106m to 1522m above mean sea level. A statistical 3D regression model was developed for the compensation of offset between different geoidal solutions.","PeriodicalId":259890,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences & Technology","volume":"35 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114024008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of its main strengths is its use of flow control algorithms that allows TCP to reduce the rate at which it sends data if network congestion is encountered. TCP multi-home option makes it possible to handle multiple local and remote address pairs in one TCP session and to survive network outages by finding out an alternative network path. However, flow control algorithms arc complex and hard to understand; traditional methods of teaching how flow control algorithms work, such as viewing sliding window illustrations, do not illustrate flow control algorithm dynamics well; a better method would be to use a TCP simulator that not only visualizes TCP multi-home option and flow control algorithm operations happening in real time, but also allows users to experiment with simulating different flow control algorithms under different congestion conditions. Simulation modeling allows system developers and analysts to predict the performance of existing or proposed systems under different configurations or operating policies. The OMNeT++ tool is used to simulate and predict the performance of the TCP's issues involved in this arc pointed out. The aim of this paper is to produce a visual TCP simulator that acts as an interactive teaching/demonstration tool by allowing users to experiment with simulating different TCP flow control and multi-home options algorithms over different data traffic conditions that are similar to those encountered on the Internet in real life.","PeriodicalId":259890,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences & Technology","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122583499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
