The conditions as such will require the existence of human capital with adequate capabilities to improve competitiveness and economic productivity in a country. In this context, higher education graduates can be seen as entities that have an important role as a channel for knowledge transfer from universities to the industry. In turn, the knowledge spillover will be useful for the realization of industrial innovation in order to increase productivity. In this connection, this study aims to examine the role of higher education graduates as high-skilled workforce for various industrial sectors in Indonesia. Using national labor force surveys data as the main data source, this study contributes to filling research gaps on human resources and knowledge-based economic development in the contexts of developing country such as Indonesia. This paper shows the rationale for developing an original program to teach English as a foreign language for young learners, which has been approved by the Ministry of Education for primary education in a private-subsidized school in Chile. The objective of this project was to systematize English language education from year 1 to year 4 as well as the language teaching methodology to integrate the psycholinguistic aspects of the learning processes of young learners with a focus on the Communicative Language Teaching approach, Semantic Fields (within a lexical approach) and Processability Theory. Finally, an overview of the procedure about the development process of the course will be provided using the theoretical models by Graves (2001) and Jolly Bolitho (1998). The aims of this paper intend to make a comparison of takaful rules and regulations in Malaysia and Indonesia. The researchers divided the work into five phases: Phase 1; Developing Framework, Phase 2; Industry roundtable discussion with the proposed draft framework/model, Phase 3; Side visit/Collect Data, Phase 4; Research Finding and Phase 5; Writing and Publishing. Six (6) takaful Companies (handling General takaful) selected as samples for this research comprise of three takaful companies from Malaysia and three takaful companies from Indonesia. Results of interviews were recorded and analyzed using ATLAS. ti software. The findings showed that the current general takaful rules and regulations are Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 (IFSA 2013) in Malaysia and Undang-Undang No 40 (UU40) in Indonesia. However, UU40 was referring to both takaful company and the conventional insurance company, and it only discusses the headlines of the acts and further explanation of it can read from the Peraturan Otaritas Jasa Keuangan (POJK). Contradicting, IFSA 2013 referred entirely to the takaful company covered all the takaful rules and regulations and a compilation of banking, takaful, and money market. In spite of making a comparison with regards to the general rules and regulations and more on administrative matters which referred to IFSA 2013 and UU40, the practitioners suggested to the researchers to compare the crucial operational issues because it will find more differences such as the Takaful Operational Framework (TOF) from Malaysia and the POJK in Indonesia. The results of this study could provide a significant contribution to Takaful operators in ASEAN countries especially for Malaysia and Indonesia. One of the most frequently discussed issues in online communication between PMI and their families is their income management. Unfortunately, their lack of knowledge in managing remittance has led to less productive online communication. This research aims to describe: 1) PMI’s online communication; 2) Factors affecting PMI’s financial management; 3) PMI’s online communication with their families regarding financial management practices. This study used qualitative descriptive method. Informants were selected using snowballing technique. Data were collected through interviews and focus group discussions. Data validity was measured using a triangulation technique in the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong and BNP2TKI. It was found that: 1) Online communication of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong was primarily carried out using WhatsApp due to its low price and various features. Besides WhatsApp, PMI also used Facebook and Instagram for online business, 2) Family and individual basic needs have affected PMI’s financial management pattern, 3) PMI online communication about financial management practices was based on domestic problems. The communication pattern was determined by PMI’s spare time. The messages of financial communication focused on managing migrant remittance for children and families’ primary needs. Sometimes it was also discussed secondary needs such as home construction, the purchase of vehicles and rice field.","PeriodicalId":258200,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st Aceh Global Conference (AGC 2018)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117012794","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
