The typical test-cases include simulation of SEIG, with lead-lag controller and PI controller in Mini-Grid system, when subjected to ramping load (both active and reactive). The results show that the characteristics of the conductance controller have very little influence in operation of such system. Whereas, ramping of active and reactive power of the load, more than the rated capacity of the resistive shunt, has significant effect on the stability of the system. The proposed converter inserts a boost matrix converter, which is formed by three boost inductors and six bidirectional switches, between a three-phase ac source and a Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier (CW-VM) circuit. By using this topology associated with power factor correction technique, the proposed converter not only achieves almost unity power factor and sinusoidal input phase currents with low distortion but also obtains high voltage gain at the output end. Moreover, the matrix converter generates an adjustable-frequency and adjustable-amplitude current which injects into the CW-VM to regulate the dc output voltage and smooth its ripple. With this flexible injection current, the performance of the proposed converter is superior to the conventional CW-VM, which is usually energized by a single-phase ac source. Sourced by three-phase ac source, the proposed converter is quite suitable for high-power and high voltage applications. Both operation principle and control strategy of the proposed converter are detailed in this paper. Nevertheless, the total electric energy generated by different sources has been unable to meet the demand. So, including aforementioned facts, there are several reasons which advocate that Nepal has high potential to do research, develop and implement various photovoltaic technologies to generate additional solar energy to minimize the present energy crisis. This paper presents comparative analysis of grid-tied PV systems of Kathmandu and Berlin using PVsyst. In this DDISMC-MPPT, a new double integral sliding surface has been chosen to enhance it operating with fixed switching frequency. The DDISMC-MPPT controller is designed considering the reaching and stability conditions. It is found that the proposed controller inherent robustness and is stable. Comparing with two available DDISMC-MPPTs such as Tan's [6] and Jiao's [7] DDISMCs, this proposed DDISMC-MPPT performs better MPP tracking with less chattering. In general, temperature difference between atmosphere and soil can be employed both for cooling and heating, during summer and winter, respectively. In this paper, the adopted and implemented 1-dimensional heat transfer models are validated with the performed experiment at IIT Rajasthan. The measured soil and air temperature are used for this purpose. The analyses of measured air temperature in EAHE indicate the achieved cooling along the length of EAHE at the considered depth. Furthermore, detailed 3-dimensional RANS based CFD analyses are performed for a better understanding and insight to this cooling process. The measured and model analyzed soil temperature has indicted the requirement of further improvement in the adopted soil model. Finally, an integrated semi-permanent structure with EAHE is analyzed. In this context, transition science offers insights into the relevant socio-technological systems and the process of transition. This paper gives an overview of transition science, and furthermore presents current policy making by the UK and German governments that aim to manage the shift to electric mobility. A comparison of the two different policies with transition science shows that there is an overlap between the applied policy making and theory, especially for the case of the UK. Although both governments do not explicitly follow transition management their actions can be explained with the help of transition science. However, most of the previous studies formulated for a single point source and the lens to design has a spherical bottom. In this study, the formulation is extended for multiple point sources and for lenses with a flat bottom in favor of prototyping and manufacturing. The extended formulation requires only a freeform surface to design. However, it could be over determined if the light rays emitted from the multiple point sources overlap at the near field. The weighted least-square method is introduced to solve the over-determined problem. A weighting function correlated with the emitting intensities of the sources is proposed to design for illumination profile fit and uniformity in trade-off. The adequacy of the extended formulation is demonstrated by simulation. Circular and rectangular illuminations of multiple point sources in different layouts are illustrated. The simulation results show that profile fit and uniformity could be significantly affected by a source offset.
