In doing so, a multiple case study was applied. Qualitative data was based on insights derived from in-depth interviews with the identified participants. Key findings of the study show that in Ethiopia NPM reforms have been introduced following a system-wide approach for all government organisations, obstructing their clear articulation and communication thereof. The levels of performance in design, implementation, output in terms of service delivery, and outcomes to the society vary among enterprises. Leadership commitment, persistence, necessary work in the reward system, and human resource policies (soft S's), institutional development, autonomy and accountability, and benchmarking and contextualisation are some of the factors for effective adoption of NPM reforms.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125539012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But as CS education expands, teachers of CS are challenged to help students develop accurate understandings. Researchers have documented several difficulties faced by learners of basic programming concepts. On the contrary, new pedagogies make use of technologies to go further, to open up new possibilities. Especially, in today's digital generation gamification has become a popular tactic to encourage specific behaviours and increase motivation and engagement. There are platforms that enable educators to use gaming technology to develop learning environments for students. Classcraft is one of the many examples of how technology can be used in the classroom to engage students and facilitate exciting, engaging and interesting lessons. The results presented in this study suggest that students' engagement and attitudes toward programming have been positively affected. On the contrary, students' academic performance was not affected at a statistically significant level.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133788844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This qualitative multiple case study described and documented the perceptions and experiences of novice entrepreneurs in Nigeria regarding business coaching at the start-up stages of their entrepreneurial venture. Seven owners of small businesses registered in Nigeria who had undergone business coaching during the start-up stages of their businesses were selected for this research. The findings underline that for a coaching programme to be successful, the structure of the programme, quality and experience of the coaches, duration and frequency of coach-protege meetings, nature of the coach-protege relationship, and desire and commitment of the proteges must be appropriate.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133993086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is complicated investigative work that has the potential to confuse novice researchers. In this paper, I focus on comparing the methodology of three noted qualitative researchers, all of whom have written 'how-to' books on the process. I draw on findings from Robert Stake, Sharan Merriam, and Robert Yin in order to show the accessibility, though somewhat contested and complicated, of case study design and dissemination. The analysis of these researchers' methods shows that while licensure and flexibility exist, certain aspects of case study design are absolutely necessary. This paper makes an argument for a more comprehensive take on case study methodology and concludes by suggesting a step-by-step field manual for the novice educational researcher moving forward.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131214173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The focus is to assess the pricing techniques employed by the leading SaaS companies, and to identify a correlation with their corporate valuations. Financial data from 18 publicly traded companies was used to apply 14 different valuation methods. The purpose of this paper is to identify those pricing techniques that most influenced corporate valuations. This study discovered that there were identifiable correlations between the price-setting practices, the pricing strategies, and the pricing models. The insights uncovered as a result of this paper are important contributions to the valuation of SaaS companies as a whole, as well as to the pricing techniques utilised in the leading companies. Implications of the price-setting practices and pricing strategies are better understood in terms of their impact on company success.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127091042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The project used a collaborative, strengths-based model of professional experience. Teacher education students (students) were embedded into the school well in advance of more traditional placement models. Additional opportunities for student support, peer coaching, and time for planning and self-reflection were also included in the model. The case study confirmed that professional experience is a significant milestone event for students enrolled in initial teacher education courses. The students in this study reported that the project allowed them multiple opportunities to be immersed in the school community and this assisted them in developing a strong sense of the profession of teaching, particularly in relation to professional identity, professional respect and professional confidence.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130405484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Robert Jones was the VP of Sales at CMP North America, Inc., which was the North American subsidiary of a company headquartered in Pescara, Italy. The company manufactured concrete mixing machinery. In early 2014, Jones was a little surprised that corporate headquarters in Italy had set such ambitious goals: grow revenue from $2.2 million annually to $5 million within five years. Jones truly believed that CMP was the most innovative company in the North American market and manufactured the highest-quality equipment. However, the industry was fragmented, mature, highly competitive, global and dependent on the construction industry. The case is intended to help students understand the concept of differentiation as a business-level strategy.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129049739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This issue is especially important in the case of teachers who live in a traditional society such as the Arab teachers in Israel. The participants were 498 Arab teachers from the Triangle area in Israel. The research results indicated that the participating teachers' beliefs about democracy in the classroom were 'normal' but not 'good'. Furthermore, the results showed that those teachers' beliefs in democracy have significant relationship with their background variables. It is suggested that a clear educational policy should be developed for confronting failures of the educational system. In addition, those teachers would benefit from participating in democracy workshops that prepare them for more democratic practices in the classrooms.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127016487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This literature review considers related issues of cultural homelessness, belonging and identity, home culture re-entry, and culture shock and reverse culture shock. The review also explores the shifting nature and changing student body make-up of international schools, and the associated impacts this has on TCKs in particular and society in general. This review was conducted as part of a larger qualitative research study targeting a deeper understanding of cultural homelessness and home culture re-entry through the narratives of TCKs regarding their experiences in an international school context. A synthesis of knowledge on this topic can be used to inform the development of appropriate counselling protocols for TCKs in the international school context.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131956461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
