To realize high-accuracy indoor localization, a novel UWB locating scheme through estimating the round trip time (RTT) of UWB signal is proposed. Each reference station (RS) transmits the baseband pulse modulated UWB signals. The signals are received by the user terminals (UT) and sent back to the original RS using a different carrier frequency. We can easily calculate the position of the UT by detecting the time gap between the feedback signal and the origin signal. Meanwhile, the multi-path detection algorithm for RTT estimation is presented and the localization performance of the proposed scheme is tested under IEEE 802.15.4a channel models. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed scheme can realize high accuracy localization with an error around the centimeter level.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129196441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it can not guarantee to provide a route with minimal network delay for data delivery due to bandwidth-constrained, variable-capacity links and dynamic topology and so on. Many ad hoc networks applications must resolve the inherent conflict between energy efficient communication and the need to achieve desired end-to-end network delay. To address this challenge, we propose a Delay-Sensitive and Power-Aware routing protocol (DSPA). This proposal builds different routing entries based on network delay from source to destination at different power levels on demand, and selects the minimum power level routing for data delivery. Moreover, DSPA uses different power control policies to transmit data packets, as well as the control packets of network layer and MAC layer. Simulation results show that our protocol can not only effectively reduce energy consumption, thus prolong the network lifetime, but also significantly improve average end-to-end delay while maintaining a good packet delivery ratio.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130646963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To reduce the array size of the mono-polarized smart antenna in TD-SCDMA systems, dual-polarization scheme is considered to facilitate the application of smart antenna in TD-LTE systems. In this paper, we investigate the performance degradation due to dual-polarization for smart antenna in TD-LTE system. The beamforming gain and the diversity gain of the smart antennas with two polarization schemes are analyzed, and then followed the numerical simulation. Both the analysis and the simulation show that the dual-polarization scheme pays a little penalty of slight signal-to-noise (SNR) loss for the great decrease of array size that greatly facilitates the application of antenna array.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121284251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The radiating plates, which act as typical radiators, are designed based on standard rules for designing conventional microstrip antennas. To obtain 50 Ohm impedance matching, a rectangular stub is attached to one of the radiating edges of the main plate and is coplanar with the main plate. By tuning the stub, the input resistance and reactance can be easily determined. This method is used to design a rectangular suspended probe-fed stacked plate antenna. Experimental results show that this design is capable of achieving a VSWR 1.1∶1 impedance bandwidth of about 7.5%, relatively stable radiation patterns, and a gain level of about 9.6 dBi. The high gain and low VSWR make it suitable for CMMB terrestrial SNF applications.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127709249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current single trust model hides the behavior details of nodes in different field, thus it cannot defend the strategic attack of malicious nodes. A node Interest Similarity based P2P Trust Model (ISTrust) is proposed, which takes both node interest bias and reputations in each interest domain into consideration, and uses interest domain reputation vector to maintain the behaviors of node in specific interest domain. When calculating reputations of other nodes, ISTrust uses interest similarity between nodes to weight domain local trust recommendation, thus restrains the slandering and exaggeration attacks of malicious nodes, and gives good nodes incentives to provide contribution in many domains. Simulation results show that ISTrust is more efficient and secure than EigenRep.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134441863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The developed antenna has a size as small as 13.5*25 mm and it covers the entire bandwidth of 3.1–10.6 GHz.
