Different scenarios of conflictual situations in airport surface traffic are analyzed and classified. A conflict detection and resolution algorithm is implemented to preserve the recommended separation distance. The simulator has been tested with a deployment case at Mohammed V International Airport involving the use of 70 aircrafts. In the absence of conflict detection and resolution, various conflict situations are identified. Once the conflict detection and resolution algorithm is used to manage the traffic, three prioritization strategies are implemented and the number of delayed aircraft and overall delays are compared. From the results of this prioritization based on time or distance remaining, what is more interesting is the choice of the detection algorithm rather than the minimization of the delay for each given situation.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124092808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the present paper is to evaluate the risk of contamination of medical surfaces by pathogenic strains. For this purpose, a theoretically estimation of the ability of four pathogenic strains in the medical field: Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella Kentucky to adhere to the surface of four different substrata: Glass, polystyrene (PS), polyethylene (PE) and Stainless Steel 316L (Inox), was studied according to the thermodynamic approach. In order to modify the surface tension of these supports, they were treated with surfactants. The contact angle method was used to estimate the physicochemical properties of the two matrices. According to the results of the total free energy of interactions, the adhesion of these four strains on the treated and untreated glass was not favorable. For the other supports (PE, PS, and inox), the adhesion of the strains was favorable but after the treatment of the supports with surfactants, it appears that the attachment of the cells became unfavorable.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131446571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The processing parameters have an important effect on laser sintering. This article focuses on understanding the relationship between the energy density and the other parameters, by establishing mathematical equations to calculate the energy density, which we will use later in our complete mathematical model. We will use the result of experimentally work which have already been carried out by varying the process parameters, namely the laser power, the scanning speed, the hatching distance, scanning spacing and the layer thickness. The relative density model was estimated using the correlation method by MATLAB software.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114818438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This being said, gaining and maintaining this ability is not always easy, given the multitude of risks driving the adverse and challenging events. This paper aims to propose a method consecrated to the assessment of risks directly affecting resilience. This work is conducted within the framework of risk assessment and resilience engineering approaches. A $5times 5$ matrix, dedicated to the identification and assessment of risk factors that constitute threats to the system resilience, has been elaborated. This matrix consists of two axes, namely, the impact on resilience metrics and the availability and effectiveness of resilience planning. Checklists serving to collect information about these two attributes are established and a case study is undertaken. In this paper, a new method for identifying and assessing risk factors menacing directly the resilience of a given system is presented. The analysis of these risks must be given priority to make the system more resilient to shocks.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"212 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123008642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some of the reasons why the iris recognition system is reliable include; Iris never changes due to ageing and individual can be recognized with their irises from long distances up to 50m away. The iris recognition system process includes four main steps. The four main steps are; iris image acquisition, preprocessing, feature extraction and matching, which makes the processes in recognizing an individual with his or her iris. However, most researchers recognized feature extraction as a critical stage in the recognition process. The stage is tasked with extracting unique feature of the individual to be recognized. Different algorithm over two-decade has been proposed to extract features from the iris. This research considered the Gabor filter, which is one of the most used and Legendre wavelet filters. We also apply them on three different datasets; CASIA, UBIRIS and MMU databases. Then we evaluate and compare based on the False Acceptance Rate (FAR), False Rejection Rate (FRR), Genuine Acceptance Rate (GAR) and their accuracy. The result shows a significate increase in recognition accuracy of the Legendre wavelet filter against the Gabor filter with up to 5.4% difference when applied with the UBIRIS database.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"16 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113961344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Morocco, more than 2 million people aged 18 and over are diabetic. In order to diagnose and treat diabetes, early detection is needed. Thus, the aim of this qualitative study was to overcome this difficulty by giving more autonomy and initiative to the different software modules specialized in the medical diagnosis. To enable robust, reliable medical diagnostic support, Multi-Agent System can be the tool for distributed diagnostic. This article will attempt to create a new multi-agent system that evaluates the performance of three well-known machine learning algorithms: the artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machines (SVM), and logistic regression or logit model (LR), based on the diabetes Database. Then the system aggregates the classifications of these algorithms with a controller agent to increase the accuracy of the classification using a majority vote. In addition, this article discusses the current gap and the challenges of adopting machine learning algorithms in multi-agent systems.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128374698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The time-varying delays are bounded and differentiable with upper bound of delay derivatives. Using an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF), free-weighting matrices, and a new design methodology, sufficient conditions are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to achieve the desired H∞ performance. These LMIs can be easily solved by standard numerical packages. Finally, numerical examples are presented to show the performances of the proposed method and the fact that it is less conservative than those previously mentioned.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121316688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
