Having an insight on water supply forecasting and water consumption forecasting, will be useful to generate an optimal water distribution plan. A platform that targets the sustainable water management concepts for domestic usage and paddy cultivation is proposed in this paper, with the following components: (1) forecasting water levels of reservoirs, (2) forecasting water consumption patterns, and (3) optimizing the water distribution. We have used Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) for forecasting modules and, Genetic Programming (GP) for optimizing water distribution. Our results show that, using our proposed modules, sustainable water management related services can be automated efficiently and effectively.","PeriodicalId":253040,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126264117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we apply machine learning techniques which require less resources to produce comparable results for emotion prediction. As the underlying technique for the emotion prediction in this research is based on clinically recognized Facial Action Coding System (FACS), a further analysis is given on the contribution of each of the Action Units (AUs) for the predicted emotion. This analysis would complement, strengthen and be a main resource for addressing many different health issues related to facial muscle movements.","PeriodicalId":253040,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125707721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While there are many Sinhala news sites out there, no site facilitates recommendation despite the popularity of recommender systems in the current age and day. Therefore, it is effective if the news were presented in a summarized version which tallies with the user preferences as well. Our research aims to fill these gaps by providing a centralized news platform that recommends news to its users clearly and concisely. The news articles were collected using web scraping and after performing categorization it will be presented in a summarized context. Also, we expect to detect the grey sheep users and to provide separate recommendations to them in order to minimize errors in the recommendation. By implementing the proposed system, we provide a user-friendly Sinhala news platform.","PeriodicalId":253040,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126925041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary outcome of the model is that the Airline organization can maximize the revenue by controlling the availability. The product in airline industry is the seat, which is an expensive, unstock able product. The demand for the seats is almost uncertain, the capacity is constraint and difficult to increase and the variable costs are very high. Hence the priority of the expected demand forecast is very high for airline industry. An accurate mechanism to predict the revenue for future months of ODs (Origin destinations) is done using fare and passenger data. The revenue is derived by the number of passengers and the fares they pay which vary for each flight. Airline travel is very susceptible to the social, political and economic changes. Therefore, passenger buying patterns change quite dynamically. Hence, it is challenging to develop an accurate method to project the revenue for each route. To overcome this, we are going to use semi-supervised learning mechanism. We have the current ticketed revenue plus we have the current booked passengers. We also have the ticketed passenger details of previous flights. Hence most of the information is available, however changing market conditions is an unknown variable which can have a significant impact on passenger travel patterns. Through this research We are going to design and develop the best fit model to forecast flight OD level passenger demand based on the historical data.","PeriodicalId":253040,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115362507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Students are used to learning Biology from various methods such as reading textbooks, attending lectures. Biology is based on more practical and most of the schools not available proper lab facilities, anatomic structures, and resources to learn the module easily. And teachers who teach the module face a considerable number of issues when delivering the concepts. Some of them face unavailability of teaching aids, time-consuming, lack of lecture materials. Apart from that, the nature of the topic and the teaching style are the main learning problems faced by the students. Therefore, students do not learn the concepts perfectly and interest in the module has been reduced day by day. To overcome these difficulties “Amazon Biology,” mobile application has been proposed. The application consists of three major modules including image processing for the plant classification, augmented reality for human anatomy, and gamification. The proposed application has used the techniques in augmented reality and game-based learning. The developed system delivers nearly 85% level of accuracy and provides more advantages for students. They are effective and efficient learning, teaching via visual materials, and practical.","PeriodicalId":253040,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116397679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With a 59% of the Sri Lankan population depending themselves on this indispensable element, the authorities and the people must heed the importance of safe consumption to avoid severe consequences like Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). In an attempt to address this social predicament, a smart device was fashioned as an initiative to predict safe consumption of groundwater and, to oblige and upskill the users to identify the quality of a groundwater sample in real-time. With the inclusion of machine learning techniques, the implementation was done by predicting the Water Quality Index (WQI) which is a single numeric index that mirrors the overall quality of any water sample, with an accuracy of 97.82%. In addition, two more serviceable functionalities to predict possibilities of CKD outbreak and forecasting water quality parameters were also implemented with accuracies of 76.99% and 92% respectively. The sole of this research relies on the hardware device that embeds a set of sensors which accompanies the individual functionalities. The readings and outputs will be displayed through the mobile application which is real-time and of high performance with a friendly user-interface.","PeriodicalId":253040,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC)","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116324776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Use of unsecured and unsafe applications in workplaces pose enormous security risks. Companies are not adequately aware about the applications that are being used in their employees' devices. When it comes to critical business communication involving exchanging trade secrets, making business referrals and strategic business decisions, protecting of messages and shared files becomes a challenge. Most publicly available communication platforms do not empower organizations to regulate, track and scale their communication and does not provide compliance with data protection frameworks, which can result in cross industry system risks. As a result, both individuals and organizations express deep concern about data security and protection of privacy when using Instant Messaging applications. Non-repudiation in communications not only conveys to the user, recognition of the communication process, but it is also a crucial way to establish a relationship of trust and to overcome trust disputes. Our primary objective, through this research, is to develop a chat application with more secure channels of enterprise level communication. Using new technologies such as blockchain, which operate on a decentralized model, we can surmount the drawbacks of traditional messaging applications, thereby ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of official data, along with advanced auditing features.","PeriodicalId":253040,"journal":{"name":"2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128319566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the proposed system, the robotics technology is used for physiotherapy. In the existing physiotherapy robot devices, there is no feature that provides exercise for every joint of the fingers and the wrist. Therefore, in this system, we used forward kinematics technologies to address each joint of the fingers and wrist thatcan access by the physiotherapist. We have designed the robot hand using the solid work and implemented 3D model then assembled system was tested again using different scenarios. Most existing robotic systems provide finger and wrist exercises separately, but our system can provide all exercises simultaneously. In here, we can predict the next exercises that are given for the patient and the progress of the rehabilitation of the patient. For the prediction, we developed the models using the FB prophet algorithm. When using this device, the patient's hand exercises are monitored in real-time and the physiotherapist can see the angles of the hand movement while controlling the robot device.
