Dichas estructuras se sistematizan por su asociacion con las fases de deformacion del yacimiento, segun el esquema: Deformacion interna de las capas de carbon, pliegues parasitos desarrollados flexuralmente y fallas (metricos a decametricos), asociados a las fases principales de plegamiento hercinico; fallas verticales de desgarre y fracturas subhorizontales a escala del yacimiento, y microtectonica gravitacional relacionadas con los ultimos estadios de deformacion de la orogenia hercinica; estructuras tectonicas asociadas a un episodio extensional, probablemente alpino inicial. La descripcion de las fracturas subhorizontales y las asociadas a los primeros episodios alpinos es novedosa al no existir referencias previas.","PeriodicalId":252745,"journal":{"name":"Trabajos de Geologia","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116791299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They show good preservation of geometry and volume. These characteristics are difficult to explain because the Proarticulates are contained within high strained limestone. Textural analysis reveal that the key to the undeformed fossil preservation are the brittle-ductile strain conditions, which increased the rheological contrast between the quartz and calcite. Hence the fossils, having been replaced by quartz while the matrix is calcitic. The system matrix/fossil presents a characteristic rheological behaviour model of a rigid solid into the plastic matrix.","PeriodicalId":252745,"journal":{"name":"Trabajos de Geologia","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124363981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A. beetsi, ancestor of the other species, has a weakly developed median septum in the dorsal valve interior, which is absent in the adults of A. asturica and in the Argentinian forms. The brachiopods of the Lanipustula Zone show not only relations with those from Australia and the United States but also with those from the Cantabrian Mts, especially with those forms typical of a quiet water environment, which was rather deep and therefore more obscure and colder than normal for the latitude.\u0000\u0000The rather small forms could have drifted across the Tethys –possibly as larvae entangled in seaweed– at the begining of the Late Carboniferous and have adapted to the environment that reigned in Argentina at that time.","PeriodicalId":252745,"journal":{"name":"Trabajos de Geologia","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133761220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Pirue Beds are made up of bedded bioclastic and chert-bearing limestones of marine character. Fusulinacean faunas present in these rocks point to an upper Myachkovian age and can be correlated with similar clastic unconformable deposits more to the north, in the Gamonedo area. All these rocks lie in the northern part of the Picos de Europa domain, and represent basin border deposits related to fault activity, while the partially age-equivalent succession at Las Llacerias to the south is composed of more distal limestones. These rocks are considered as synorogenic deposits marking the beginning of late Carboniferous tectonic disturbances in the Picos de Europa domain.","PeriodicalId":252745,"journal":{"name":"Trabajos de Geologia","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133578454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La base del recubrimiento cuaternario dibuja puntualmente morfologias de tipo embudiforme, que parecen tener su origen en dolinas de subsidencia creadas por un proceso geologico de hundimiento en la zona carstificada de los yesos terciarios infrayacentes. Estas antiguas depresiones se encuentran colmatadas por los depositos cuaternarios: materiales aluviales (arenas y gravas) y lagunares (limos arcillosos organogenos). Dentro de los materiales terciarios destaca un nivel de yesos masivos, que llega a alcanzar potencias que superan los 18 m, permitiendo precisar la extension superficial de la cuenca lacustre desarrollada durante el Eoceno Superior (muy probablemente en el Bartoniense Inferior-Medio).","PeriodicalId":252745,"journal":{"name":"Trabajos de Geologia","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132057286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These strata are the most fossiliferous and continuous succession of synorogenic rocks currently known in the Picos de Europa Unit. Even though palynomorphs have been found at several levels, the fossil assemblages generally consist of many different benthic groups representing shallow marine environments. Brachiopods are the dominant group in these assemblages, which also include sponges, molluscs and crinoid remains. Foraminifers and ostracodes are the most abundant microfossils. Conodonts are very scarce. These palaeontological data allow us to correlate the Demues strata with other successions in the Picos de Europa Unit, as well as to date it in terms of both the West European and the Russian stratigraphic scales. The succession at Demues ranges in age from uppermost Moscovian or basal Kasimovian to the middle part of the Kasimovian (upper Khamovnicheskian) in the Russian stratigraphic scale, and probably from Cantabrian (lower?) to a level near the Barruelian /Estefanian B in the West European stratigraphic scale. As a consequence, the Demues section may provide some clues for the correlation between both scales in the upper part of the Carboniferous System.","PeriodicalId":252745,"journal":{"name":"Trabajos de Geologia","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126155003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
