Trigonirhynchia palentina n. sp. y T. celtiberica n. sp. son formas de rinconelidos proximas a la especie armoricana T. fallaciosa, y de similar edad que ella, Praguiense inferior. El genero Eucharitina, bien conocido en el Dominio paleo-geografico del Viejo Mundo, se identifica y describe formalmente por primera vez en el area estudiada, donde esta representado por tres especies: E. bultyncki n. sp., de la parte alta del Lochkoviense inferior del Guadarrama oriental y E. carlsi n. sp., de la parte baja del Praguiense inferior y E. cf. eucharis, de fines del Praguiense medio, de la Cordillera Iberica Oriental. Se menciona y figura tambien material de comparacion de la especie armoricana, E. oehlerti. Se propone el nuevo genero del Orden Athyri-dida Chopinia, constituido solo por su especie-tipo, C. petercarlsi n. sp., del Lochkoviense superior o del Praguiense inferior de Palencia y Celtiberia. La concha muy transversa, de contorno eliptico, con buen desarrollo del area cardinal y ornamentacion de lamelas concentricas escamosas en Chopinia lo aproxima a la Subfamilia Plicathyridinae, en particular al genero Anathyris. Sin embargo, la ausencia de elementos radiales (pliegues y surco ventral) en la concha y la comisura anterior no invaginada po-dria indicar que Chopinia es un tronco ancestral, primitivo, de la subfamilia, cuya ulterior evolucion hasta llegar a Anathyris en el Emsiense se desconoce. EnglishSeveral new Lower Devonian (Lochkovian-Pragian) brachiopod taxa from the Canta-bro-Celtiberian region of the Ibero-Armorican basin are described and figured. These taxa support the occurrence and continuity of the Iberoarmorican basin along time. Trigonirhynchia palentina n. sp. and T. celtiberica n. sp. are Lower Pragian rhynchonellid species close to the Armorican species T. fallaciosa. The genus Eucharitina, well-known along the paleogeographic Old World Domain, is formally identified and described for the first time in the studied region. There, it is represented by three species, E. bultyncki n. sp. from the upper part of the Lower Lochkovian in Eastern Guadarrama, and E. carlsi n. sp., lowermost Pragian and E. cf. eucharis, middle Pragian of the Eastern Iberian Chain. Comparison material of the Armorican species E. oehlerti are also mentioned and figured. A new Athyrididae genus, Chopinia, constituted only by the type-species C. petercarlsi n. sp. from the upper Lochkovian or the lower Pragian of Palencia and Celtiberia is proposed here. The very transverse elliptical outline, good development of the cardinal area and ornamentation of concentric, squamose growth lamellae, are features close to those of the Subfamily Plicathyridinae, in particular to the genus Anathyris. This is one of the most perceptible characteristics of a beach. Sand color can be altered after a nourishment work. This type of works is becoming more and more popular since they represent a good tool for preserving beaches from erosion. However, only little (or none) attention has been paid to sand color during nourishment works. Colors of the sands from the Belgian coast were determined in the Cielab space, together with their granulometry and composition. Color coordinates range between 50 and 60 for L*, 0.5 to 4.0 for a*, and 10.5 to 16.5 for b*. The composition shows a dominant quartz fraction, followed by shell fragments and finally rock fragments. Granulometry is rather homogeneous, being the grain distribution for the east part of the coast narrower than for the west coast. Esta ultima es la que se empleara en este estudio. Se trata de una aproximacion empirica que permite estimar, mediante la asignacion de una puntuacion, la calidad del macizo rocoso, con el objetivo de conocer su grado de estabilidad ante la ejecucion de una excavacion subterranea. En la presente investigacion se aplica el indice Q al estudio de la estabilidad de galerias y filones de una pequena mina de oro en el Canton de Ponce Enriquez, Ecuador. En este trabajo se propone un nuevo grafico empirico tomando para ello otros anteriores y los resultados de la evaluacion de tal manera que pueda determinarse el factor de seguridad y el maximo vano estable que pueda abrirse en minas de este tipo. Una de las principales aportaciones del trabajo es la de validar el indice de Barton a huecos pequenos. EnglishRock mass classifications are used throughout the world since the 1970’s. It is a methodology for the prefeasibility assessment of the stability of underground openings. The most used are the Bieniawski’s RMR and the Barton’s Q index. The latter is the one we have used in this study. It is an empirical approach that gives a numerical score to the rock mass quality to determine the degree of stability or reinforcement required. In this research, the Q index is applied to assess the stability of galleries and veins in a small gold mine in Canton Ponce Enriquez, Ecuador. A new empirical chart has been established using previous ones and considering the results of the study. This chart can be used to determine the safety factor and stable maximum span that can be opened in vein-mines of this type. Esta formada por dos cuerpos intrusivos rioliticos: el primer afloramiento es vagamente conocido y no ha sido datado; el segundo es de mayores dimensiones y no ha sido descrito previamente. Se trata de una roca bien diferenciada que no excede de los 12 Ma (Post-Serravaliense). Los datos geoquimicos muestran que corresponde a un granito de tipo S con alto caracter peraluminico, lo que corrobora un protolito cortical. La riolita de Zitouna es considerada como la continuacion de otros episodios magmaticos vecinos y puede ser relacionada con la evolucion tectono-magmatica del noreste africano durante el Neogeno superior. EnglishThe Zitouna rhyolite is the easternmost representative of the Neogene magmatism in the Northeast of Algeria. It is composed of two intrusive rhyolitic apexes: the first outcrop is poorly known and not dated; the second one is greater, and not previously described. It is a well-differentiated rock that does not exceed 12 Ma (Post-Serravallian). Geochemical data show that it belongs to S-type granites with a high peraluminous character corroborating a crustal protolith. Una parte, al menos, de la sucesion de la Fm. Moniello en su localidad-tipo registra repetidas oscilaciones transgresivo-regresivas que podrian reflejar ciclos astronomicos de Milankovitch de oblicuidad o precesion de los equinoccios. Se describe la estratigrafia de los ciclos mas completos y se presenta una interpretacion paleoecologica simple de los mismos. La parte mas alta de las formaciones referidas, en el limite sudoriental entre lasprovincias de Asturias y Leon e inmediata extension oriental de la ultima provincia, se caracteriza por la presencia prematura de rocas terrigenas del tipo de las de las sucesiones suprayacentes, Fms. Naranco-Huergas, alternando con calizas grainstone encriniticas rojas. Se propone singularizar esta facies como unidad litoestratigrafica separada, el Miembro Cebolledo, con estratotipo al ENE del pueblo de La Cueta, en Leon. El Mb. Cebolledo pertenece al Intervalo Faunistico (IF) 17, de edad Eifeliense inferior y su extension septentrional en Asturias podria alcanzar la parte inferior de la Fm. Naranco, como parece suceder al este de la ensenada de Moniello. Se actualiza la caracterizacionde los intervalos faunisticos 14 a 17, propios de las Fms. Moniello-Santa Lucia, incorporando nuevos datos paleontologicos, bioestratigraficos y eventoestratigraficos con vistas a mejorar su utilidad como herramienta en la identificacion precisa de dichas formaciones en la Cordillera Cantabricay correlacion con otras formaciones espanolas y extranjeras. Se describen y figuran nuevos taxones del Orden Orthida de las Fms. Moniello-Santa Lucia. Se proponen Maisorthina (especie-tipo M. saroyani n. sp.) y Castrillonia (especie-tipo C. vivaldiana n. sp.) como nuevos generos, ademas de Parmorthina gozonica n. sp., Rhipidomella cervantesi n. sp. y Dalejina telemanni n. sp. La morfologia general de Castrillonia y la valoracion de los modelos de crenulacion marginal interna permiten sugerir una linea filogenetica para Rhipidomella diferente de la habitualmente aceptada, enlazando Rhipidomelloides, Discomyorthis y Castrillonia en la ancestralidad directa de Rhipidomella. EnglishThe main features of the uppermost Emsian to lowermost Eifelian Moniello-Santa Lucia formations in the Asturian-Leonian area of maximum reefal development in the Cantabrian Mountains, are described. At least a portion of the Moniello Fm. in its type locality records several transgressive-regressive oscillations that could be related to obliquity or precessional Milankovith astronomical cycles. Soriano","doi":"10.17811/TDG.34.2014.97-123","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17811/TDG.34.2014.97-123","url":null,"abstract":"Resumen: Los temporales extraordinarios de febrero y marzo de 2014 provocaron erosiones intensas en las playas y retrocesos de frentes dunares en toda la costa cantabrica y Galicia, incluidos algunos tramos estuarinos externos, asi como numerosos destrozos en obras civiles (diques, caminos, sendas, aparcamientos, areas recreativas, escaleras en playas, mobiliario urbano, etc.). Se detallan algunas playas asturianas y areas externas estuarinas que experimentaron los procesos mas desastrosos, de acuerdo con diferentes modelos de respuestas, donde los frentes dunares retrocedieron irreversiblemente y algunas playas se equilibraran en el medio plazo. Esta ocasion unica permite modelizar la gran variedad de rellenos sedimentarios en playas y el comportamiento de los campos dunares asociados, que se completara en un futuro estableciendo las pautas evolutivas. Palabras clave : playas, dunas, temporal extremo, erosion, retroceso, Asturias Abstract: The extraordinary wave storms produced in February and March 2014 caused severe beach erosion and dune front retreat in the Cantabrian and Galician coasts, including some outer estuarine areas, as well as many damages in infrastructures (jetties, roads, footpaths, car parks, recreational areas, stairs on the beach, urban furniture, etc.). Some Asturian beaches and outer estuarine areas that experienced the most coastal damages are studied in detail, according to different response models, taking into account those dunar fronts that were irreversibly retreated, and some beaches will reach their short-term equilibrium state. This unique opportunity allows modeling the variety of sedimentary infills of beaches and associated aeolian dune fields which it will be completed in the future by establishing the evolutionary patterns. Este macizo, predominantemente calcareo, con una direccion aproximada N-S, contiene varios picos de mas de 2400 m de altura y ha sido intensamente glaciado. Ademas de las formas de origen glaciar, destacan en la cartografia los taludes y conos de derrubios, asi como numerosos deslizamientos complejos. Una continuacion de esta cartografia hacia la parte norte del macizo permitira la interpretacion de la evolucion geomorfologica de esta zona. Abstract: A new geomorphological map of the southern sector of the Ubinas massif, at a scale of 1:1000, is presented. This massif, a calcareous mountain alignment with an approximate N-S direction and several peaks with altitudes above 2400 m, has been widely glaciated. The main features in the map are glacial forms as well as talus slopes, debris cones and numerous mixed slides. The continuation of this cartography to the north part of the massif will allow the interpretation of the morphological evolution of the zone. Aramburu","doi":"10.17811/TDG.34.2014.61-96","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17811/TDG.34.2014.61-96","url":null,"abstract":"Resumen: El estudio cartografico y estratigrafico del Ordovicico en el area de Los Barrios de Luna (flanco sur del Sinclinal de Abelgas-Alba), ha permitido reconocer una compleja estratigrafia, condicionada por una tectonica sinsedimentaria, probablemente relacionada con el intenso vulcanismo que se observa algo mas al este. Se revisa la estratigrafia de la Fm. Barrios, de edad Cambrico Medio a Tardio en su mayor parte. Se redenomina una unidad estratigrafica informal (capas de El Ventorrillo), del Ordovicico Temprano?, Medio y Tardio. Se definen formalmente dos formaciones en el Ordovicico Superior-Silurico basal? (Caliza de La Devesa y Cuarcita de La Serrona), y se precisa la estratigrafia de la unidad informal silurica capas de Getino. Las costras ferruginosas situadas en la base de las capas de El Ventorrillo y de las capas de Getino se interpretan como originadas por alteracion de materiales volcanicos. Abstract: The mapping and stratigraphic study of the Ordovician rocks in Los Barrios de Luna area (southern limb of Abelgas-Alba Syncline), allowed us to recognize a complex stratigraphy, conditioned by a synsedimentary tectonics, probably related to the intense volcanism observed further east. The stratigraphy of the Barrios Fm., mostly Middle to Late Cambrian age, is reviewed. An informal stratigraphic unit (El Ventorrillo beds), of Early?, Middle to Late Ordovician age, is renamed. Two Upper Ordovician-basal Silurian? formations are formally defined (La Devesa Limestone and La Serrona Quartzite), and the stratigraphy of the Silurian informal unit Getino beds is refined. The ferruginous crusts at the base of El Ventorrillo beds and Getino beds are interpreted as a result of alteration of volcanic materials.
