Characteristics of polycystic ovary syndrome are found anovulation, hyperandrogens, polycystic ovarii and impaired insulin sensitivity involving proinflammatory increases in several inflammatory cytokines including interleukin-6 (IL-6). Increased inflammatory cytokines in women with SOPK-RI found health problems there is fat accumulation in adipocyte tissue such as in an obese person, metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a low-carbohydrate high-protein diet on changes in IL-6 levels in SOPK-RI model mice. Laboratory experimental research, namely post test only control group design. Consisting of three groups, namely, the negative control group (K-) as a normal group did not get treatment; The positive control group (K+) of the SOPK-insulin resistance model mice were given standard feed, and the treatment group (P) of the SOPK-insulin resistance model mice were given a low-carbohydrate high-protein diet (CTR) with a composition of 40% carbohydrate and 30% protein. The study lasted for 48 days, using serum ELISA examination on IL-6 levels. The average results of IL-6 levels, namely the K- = 0.358 group, K+ = 0.387 and P = 0.442 and obtained different IL-6 levels of significance value p = 0.002 with a low-carbohydrate high-protein diet in SOPK - RI rats showed a significant difference (p < 0.05) between the control group and the treatment group. Significantly reduced IL-6 levels in SOPK-RI model mice. A low-carb, high-protein diet may be considered as a dietary modality in women with SOPK-insulin resistance. Further research is needed to better determine the other modulators involved in this mechanism in more detail.","PeriodicalId":251564,"journal":{"name":"Adi Husada Nursing Journal","volume":"25 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139009233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nursing students who practice in the room are part of the system and are required to have patient safety competencies. Therefore, increasing safety competence is needed to support the quality of service by students during clinical practice. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the Nursing Student Patient Safety Course (Nurse-PSC) on safety competence (knowledge, skills and attitudes) before and after the course. The study was a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The number of respondents was 46 students who attended the course for eight weeks using e-learning collaboration and face-to-face meetings. Student competence was measured by Quality and Safety Competence (QSC) for bachelor nursing students (QSC-BNS) with 42 questions. The results showed that the respondents' patient safety competence increased significantly after the intervention (ρ < 0.001), all sub-variables of knowledge, skills, and attitude also showed significant improvement (p < 0.001). Therefore, the patient safety course model can be used as an effective form of learning to improve safety competence in nursing students.","PeriodicalId":251564,"journal":{"name":"Adi Husada Nursing Journal","volume":"354 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139011018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A nurse, then calls the first responder, who discovers a patient having a cardiac arrest must perform CPR while waiting for the code blue team to arrive. Nurses who serve as first responders in Code Blue systems have not been surveyed or studied previously regarding their knowledge of CPR. This study aims to assess the level of knowledge regarding CPR among Nurses as First Responders of the Code Blue system in Manambai Hospital, NTB. The study was a descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. Eighty-two nurses from the non-critical ward of Manambai Hospital answered questionnaires regarding characteristics and CPR from June to September 2023. The CPR questions consist of eleven multiple-choice choices derived from AHA 2020 guidelines. An analysis of the data was conducted using frequencies and chi-square. A majority of respondents have poor levels of knowledge, accounting for 73. 2%, while good levels of knowledge account for only 26,8%. CPR knowledge is associated with CPR experience with a p-value of p<0.000. Knowledge is a major factor in motivating an individual to take action on CPR in code blue system. Joint pain is one of the negative consequences of decreased physiological function. Older adults need a continuum of care to deal with the perceived vulnerability due to the effects of pain. The family has a role in self-management at home, but sometimes families experience difficulties in the mentoring process because of their high productivity outside the home. The research aims to explain monitoring on the pain scale, knowledge, skills, self-efficacy of older adults, and the level of family independence based on Information Technology (IT) platform. The method used is a case report on an older adult and the family for two months of monitoring. The intervention consisted of 4 meetings using psychoeducational techniques, cognitive restructuring, demonstration, and problem-solving. The result showed a decrease in the pain scale and an increase in the knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy of older adults. In addition, the result showed increased family independence after intervention. The family has an essential role in accompanying older adults during the joint pain management process. This result is expected to be a recommendation for health workers to maximize the part of the family in treating pain management in older adults.","PeriodicalId":251564,"journal":{"name":"Adi Husada Nursing Journal","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136077499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Stature is often associated with sociodemographic factors. However, now, further evidence is needed about this phenomenon, especially in the toddler population. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sociodemographic factors and short stature in toddlers. Cross-sectional study design. The population is 303 toddlers aged 12-60 months in Lojejer Wuluhan Jember Village, East Java. A total of 172 samples were taken by cluster sampling. Sociodemographic variables that were measured included: father's age, mother's age, father's education, mother's education, family income, under-five gender, and birth weight. Toddler stature dependent variable. Data collection techniques using observation and questionnaires. Data analysis using logistic regression. The results showed that the variables of family income, child's gender, and birth weight had a relationship with short stature in toddlers. The results of the modeling analysis showed that male sex (p 0.004, AOR 3.94, 95% CI 1.54 to 10.07) and birth weight (p <0.001, AOR 39.005, 95% CI 7.69 up to 197.63) have been shown to have a significant relationship with short stature in toddlers. Birth weight is an illustration of the nutritional status of toddlers during the intra-uterine period. This study concluded that male toddlers have a higher risk of experiencing short stature compared to female toddlers. Babies born with low birth weight are at risk of experiencing short stature compared to those with normal birth weight and more. Nutritional status at birth is the initial capital for children's growth in the Toddler period. Therefore, the government needs to establish stricter policies so that pregnant women get assurance of adequate nutritional intake for themselves and their babies. In addition, it is necessary to carry out further studies related to mediating variables related to gender and their effect on short stature.","PeriodicalId":251564,"journal":{"name":"Adi Husada Nursing Journal","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135008704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
