However, since interoperability and scalability, due to high and capped (in particular cases) transaction latency are deep-rooted in the architecture of blockchain technology, they are by default inherited in any blockchain based applications. Lightning Network (LN) is one of the supporting technologies developed to eliminate this impediment of blockchain technology by facilitating instantaneous transfers of cryptos. Since the potentials of LN is still relatively unknown, this paper investigates the current states of development along with possible non-monetary usage of LN, especially in settlement coloured coins such as securities, as well as creation of new business models based on Lightning Applications (LApps) and microchannel payments as well as micro-trades. The legal challenges that may act as impediment to the adoption of LN is also discussed.","PeriodicalId":249061,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Information System and Data Mining","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131165306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It becomes a core technology for various applications and more and more embedded within our daily lives and businesses. As the technology grows and evolves a number of issues will arise and be focused on in IoT, Security is one of the central issues in IoT in the last decade. However, most of today's IoT intrusion detection systems suffer from high false alarms rate with moderate accuracy and detection rates when it's not able to detect all types of IoT intrusions correctly. To overcome this problem, hybrid techniques are used. In this paper, hybrid learning approach combining partitioning clustering techniques with Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is proposed. Experimental results show that the proposed approach using K-Medoids has improved the detection rate as well as decreased the false positive rate.","PeriodicalId":249061,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Information System and Data Mining","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133891720","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Renukappa, Hanouf Alosaimi, Saeed Al Nabt","doi":"10.1145/3325917.3325959","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1145/3325917.3325959","url":null,"abstract":"An increasing number of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) construction organizations are turning to knowledge management (KM) as a key to leverage their distinctive core competencies in their pursuit of competitive advantage. However, the construction industry is one of the most challenging environments in which managing people effectively in order to ensure that they contribute their knowledge to organisational success. The construction industry employs an extremely diverse range of people from a wide range of occupational cultures and background, including people in unskilled, craft, managerial, professional and administrative positions. Therefore, the industry increasingly depends on the employees' know-how. Knowledge sharing is one of the building blocks for an organisation's success and acts as a survival strategy in this knowledge era. Sharing project experience and knowledge among project staff will: reduce the cost of problem solving; and decrease the probability of repeat problems. In other words, sharing knowledge leads to faster response times which help firms meet construction requirements with lower operational costs. There is, however, knowledge sharing is an under-researched area in the KSA construction industry context, despite several policy transformations announced by the KSA Government. Thus, the main aim of this research was to explore the drivers for sharing knowledge in the KSA construction industry. The findings are in the main, based on semi-structured interviews with 44 professionals from 30 construction organizations. The data analysis revealed that seven key drivers that have fueled the need for sharing knowledge. They are: to integrate knowledge of different teams through interaction, to set physical and social environment in the organisation for boosting production, to measure the methods and techniques for implementing knowledge sharing strategies, to transfer knowledge in different platforms, to retain knowledge, to reflect on the self-understandings and to create organisational communities for sharing ideas. The paper conclude that there is ample scope for empirical studies to explore and document the issues of organisational care and its impact on the knowledge sharing culture of KSA construction organizations. Further it noted that, managing knowledge is an integrated and complex process. More effective knowledge-sharing within and across construction organizations is required. Therefore, the KSA professional institutions and construction industry should support and participate in the work of knowledge-sharing groups to address perceived risks and opportunities from new technologies (e.g. BIM, mobile applications) and processes (e.g. sustainability issues).","PeriodicalId":249061,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Information System and Data Mining","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128945189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This statement establishes two challenges: 1) understanding the complexity of poverty as a multidimensional phenomenon, and, 2) choosing an adequate measure mechanism, which increases data accuracy of poverty, obtaining the closest representation of living conditions of poor people. Nowadays, the compilation of poverty data is a high-cost task for governments due the need of a great amount of financial and human resources. This limitation makes it almost impossible to rely on immediate updated information. This article compiles the evolution of poverty measurement methods and alternatives to gather poverty data that can reduce the costs and time required to update such information.","PeriodicalId":249061,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Information System and Data Mining","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126893368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These data could be exploited to alleviate the decision-making process of hospital managers, physicians and researchers. However, these types of end-users often lack the expertise necessary for extracting those data from the database. Several approaches exist in the field of how to allow non-programmers writing queries in a convenient manner, but none of them has yet reached fully satisfactory results. This paper sketches a solution to this problem by introducing means for writing queries in a keywords-containing natural language thus alleviating the query writing process for the end-user. Introducing this approach in the knowledge management system of the organization would greatly benefit the domain experts by allowing them to carry out the decision-making process in a more rapid and less erroneous manner.","PeriodicalId":249061,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Information System and Data Mining","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127793675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adversaries construct different types' Android applications pose many security risks that affect the security and privacy of their users. Adversaries construct different types of malicious applications and use different social engineering approaches to attract users to download and trust these applications. Malicious applications usually request permissions that are not related to their main functionality in order to access sensitive information or resources. Most of users attempt to grant the requested permissions without understanding the potential harm of those applications and how the requested permissions can be misused to disclose their privacy. Therefore, there is a need for a risk assessment model which can intimate the users about the risk level of permissions requested by an application in order to assist users to make the right decision whether to grant or deny a requested permission. This paper proposes Permission Usage and Risk Estimation for Android (PUREDroid) to measure the security risk of Android applications' permissions and the magnitude of harm resulting from granting extraneous permissions requests. Hierarchical clustering based on Euclidean distance results in clusters that partially coincide with experimental treatment groups of mice, as shown in dendrogram results. Normalization results in decreased within- and between-cluster sum of squares and a decreased ratio of between- to within-cluster sum of squares. The optimal number of clusters ranges from 1 to 4 clusters as determined by the gap statistic method or direct methods of the silhouette width or the elbow of total within-cluster sum of squares. Principal components analysis shows separation of clustered groups generated by k-means clustering. When clustered groups are plotted against the first two principal components, more distinct clusters are generated after z-score normalization of protein expression levels, compared to non-normalized results.","PeriodicalId":249061,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Information System and Data Mining","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122696726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
