The similarity in the structure for admittance control for contact motions and two mass resonance systems is derived. From the similarity, it is found that the concept of the resonance ratio control is applicable to force tracking control. Based on the concept of resonance ratio control, an admittance controller for contact motion with the environmental disturbance (EnvD) compensation is proposed. By using the proposed method, vibration suppression in contact motion is realized, even if the environment has no, or insufficient, damping (decay). The response characteristics of contact motion for force tracking control can be determined arbitrarily by the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"32 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125708229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper shows that Voice Coil Motor (VCM)-based haptic system enables operators to grasp and manipulate a small and fragile environment with tactile sensation. Author proposed that bilateral control between different degree-of-freedom without position controller system attain the grasping task and the manipulation task simultaneously. However, the system without the position controller cannot position accurately because of the friction. Thus, bilateral control between different degree-of-freedom with position controller system accomplishing the grasping task and the manipulation task simultaneously by updating command is proposed. In addition, the proposed method based on both oblique coordinate control and decoupling method using MDOB are verified.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126088102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, it is difficult to drive the unmanned vehicle full automatically in the environment in which the information is insufficient. Therefore, people have to drive the vehicle proactively in such an environment, and the teleoperated vehicle is one solution. The defect of teleoperated vehicle is its poor operability, so assist control should be added to drive the teleoperated vehicle safely. However, there is a problem that the effectiveness of assisted control depends on the sensor accuracy. In this paper, a driver assistance system that does not depend on the sensor accuracy heavily is proposed by fusing the human input and the automatic assisted control based on potential method and virtual impedance control. Steer-by-wire is introduced into the steering wheel of the vehicle so as to realize vehicle teleoperation and assisted control. The validity of proposed method is verified by simulations.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128010741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It protects people, equipment, and property. Reliability of such mission critical systems is of an extreme importance. Protection systems have strict requirements to reliability including dependability, security and timeliness. Although it undertakes rigorous testing and commissioning, it fails in some circumstances causing faults in the network, resulting in loss of power. It is hard to catch these hidden and undetectable errors in the design and installation. Since protection function is essentially a piece of code, formal methods can be used for rigorous testing of the software and provide definitive proof of the system properties. This paper proposes a formal model (to use in formal verification techniques) for protection systems. The paper develops closed loop model of the electrical network with its protection system. The model is developed in IEC 61499 language for the further generation of its formal model in SMV language. The model is validated via simulation and comparison with a comprehensive model of the electrical network in Matlab Simulink. In future work, the generated SMV model will be used to formally verify reliability requirements of the protection system.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130764964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its FOV is wide, but only its central FOV has high visual acuity. Visual acuity in its peripheral FOV is very low. By changing its view line into a target, the human can observe it in detail by its central FOV and simultaneously can observe the whole of environment by its wide FOV. This means that the human eye performs a smart data acquisition, i.e., getting more detailed visual information with smaller data amount from environment by combining appropriate eye movements. WAFVS was investigated taking into account the above human eye's functionality. The most characterized point of WAFVS is of the resolution-variant input image data, i.e., this vision sensor gets a wide-angle image where spatial resolution is not uniform like the human visual acuity. Therefore, WAFVS can reduce image data hugely. This is a strong advantage when image data are transmitted and recorded in a storage device when the vision sensor is applied for remote operation. In this paper, a remapping method for WAFVS is proposed and implemented, i.e., tessellation for Wide Angle Foveated image with 4 regions based on overlapping circular RF mapping.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132665166","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To consider system connection, the proposal uses a reachability matrix. A multilateral system enables us to transmit haptic information between many human operators. If the multilateral systems consists of many master system and one slave system, many operator can share the haptic information of an environment in the slave system. However, a conventional multilateral system is difficult to realize independent operation of master system. The cause is that a control object is realization of position synchronization in all subsystem. Here, subsystem stands for master and slave system of multilateral systems. Therefore, control design has to introduce another view point for independent operation of multilateral systems. The proposed method pays attention to system connection. Concretely, arrival information between sub-systems is derived by a reachability matrix, to consider system connection in control design. The arrival information is defined as information transmitted between subsystems. In considering the arrival information, control design considering system connection is possibility. By using the proposal, the multilateral system enables many human to operate independently. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by the experiments.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129427179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
