PBDE berpotensi menimbulkan efek negatif terhadap mahluk hidup akibat memiliki sifat persisten, toksisitas, dan bioakumulatif. Pengukuran PBDEs dilakukan dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan passive air sampler (PAS) dengan memasang Polyurethane foam-disk (PUF-disk) yang dipaparkan selama 58 hari dan 56 hari yang ditempatkan di dua lokasi yang mewakili  daerah perkotaan (Casablanca-Jakarta) dan daerah pedesaan (Citeko-Bogor). Analisis  hasil ekstraksi PUF menggunakan gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS) untuk menentukan sembilan kongener PBDEs yang terdiri dari BDE-17, -28, -47, -66, -99, -100, -153, -154, dan -183. Hasil menunjukkan semua jenis kongener PBDE terdeteksi di Jakarta, sedangkan di Bogor hanya terdeteksi tujuh jenis.  Konsentrasi PBDE terdeteksi pada kisaran nilai 0,13–4,12 pg/m 3 di Jakarta, sedangkan di Bogor berada pada kisaran 0–2,59 pg/m 3 .  Kadar tertinggi ditemukan untuk BDE-47 di kedua wilayah. PBDE terendah ditemukan untuk BDE-153 di perkotaan sedangkan BDE-153 dan BDE-183 tidak terdeteksi di wilayah pedesaan. Salah satu metode pengujian logam berat pada kadar rendah hingga ng/L adalah Inductive Couple Plasma Time of Flight Mass Spectrophotometry (ICP -ToF- MS) . Untuk mengetahui seberapa kecil kadar analit yang mampu dideteksi oleh ICP-ToF-MS, maka perlu ditentukan batas deteksi instrumen dan batas kuantifikasi. Batas deteksi instrumen ditentukan melalui 3 kali simpangan baku hasil pengukuran air bebas analit yang telah ditambahkan asam nitrat. Berdasarkan batas deteksi instrumen yang diperoleh, maka batas kuantifikasi dapat ditentukan melalui pengulangan kadar logam yang setara dengan 10 kali kadar batas deteksi instrumen. Batas deteksi instrumen diperoleh berturut-turut untuk logam Cd, Cu, Mn, dan Zn adalah  0,0006 μg/L, 0,002 μg/L, 0,002 μg/L, dan 0,004 μg/L sedangkan batas kuantifikasi masing-masing 0,006 μg/L, 0,02 μg/L, 0,02 μg/L, dan 0,04 μg/L. Pemberian amelioran pupuk kandang ayam dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanah gambut dan mempengaruhi dinamika emisi CO2. Kegiatan penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk kandang ayam pada tanah gambut yang berasal dari penggunaan lahan yang berbeda terhadap emisi CO2. Penelitian dilakukan ex situ di Laboratorium Gas Rumah Kaca di Balai Penelitian Lingkungan Pertanian. Metode yang digunakan eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial, diulang 3 kali. Faktor pertama tanah gambut yang berasal dari penggunaan lahan yang berbeda yaitu tanaman karet semak (L1), karet dengan tanaman sela nanas (L2) dan semak belukar (L3). Faktor kedua dosis amelioran pupuk kandang ayam yaitu 0 t ha-1 (A1) sebagai kontrol dan 4 t ha-1 (A2). Variabel yang diamati adalah fluks CO2, sifat kimia tanah gambut dan kemasaman tanah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian amelioran pupuk kandang ayam pada penggunan lahan gambut yang berbeda tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap emisi CO2. The testing of waste toxicity by acute dermal method is applied to recognize the adverse effects that occur after exposing the waste by direct contact. It will be indicated by corrosive or irritated effects, either topically or locally. Dermal corrosion testing is conducted under OECD Guideline no 404 using rabbit. Unknown waste sample and detergent as positive control were exposed to the shaved-dorsal part of rabbit with the area of 2.5 x 2.5 cm. Observation was performed  to recognize the symptom of oedema and erythema as a result of sample’s reaction with skin and was being evaluated after 4, 24, 48, and 72 hours. In this study, dermal corrosion testing was performed using the same test animal due to animal welfare issues about reducing animal in toxicology study. The visual scoring result showed that waste sample did not generate the corrosive effect on animal test. The experiment using detergent sample are intended to obtain some information after the assessment of corrosive level. The testing with the same animal was carried out after 30 days later. The first test presented the category 3, mild irritant, with the average score for erythema/edema of 2,1, while the second testing showed category 4, non irritant. Tingkat polusi partikulat di Kota Bandung umumnya melebihi kualitas udara ambien nasional. Sektor transportasi menjadi sumber utama dalam pencemaran konsentrasi PM10 di Kota Bandung, dimana kendaraan bermotor menyumbang 70% pencemar partikulat (PM10). Faktor lain yang berpengaruh terhadap variabilitas temporal konsentrasi PM10 selain sumber emisi lokal adalah faktor meteorologi dan sumber regional yang berasal dari luar daerah Kota Bandung. Meteorologi dapat memengaruhi proses dispersi maupun difusi partikulat yang dapat menyebabkan peningkatan atau penurunan konsentrasi PM10. Sumber regional juga memiliki peran terhadap variabilitas temporal konsentrasi PM10 karena secara substansial PM10 dapat terbawa dari tempat yang jauh melalui mekanisme long range transport. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisa distribusi temporal konsentrasi PM10 di Itenas Bandung agar data yang diperoleh dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meminimalisir terjadinya paparan jangka pendek yang dapat menyebabkan risiko kesehatan. Konsentrasi PM10 bersumber dari pencemar lokal (transportasi) dan pencemar regional (luar daerah Kota Bandung) yang diidentifikasi dengan model HYSPLIT, serta pengaruh faktor meteorologi terhadap variabilitas temporal konsentrasi PM10. Pengukuran konsentrasi PM10 dilakukan selama 1 bulan (Juli 2020) di musim kemarau. Distribusi temporal konsentrasi PM10 menunjukkan pola bimodial di mana terdapat dua jam puncak yaitu pukul 8 pagi dan pukul 10 malam, variabilitas temporal yang terjadi disebabkan oleh transportasi, temperatur dan kecepatan angin. Sementara, kelembaban tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap variabilitas temporal konsentrasi PM10 saat musim kemarau. PT. X is a textile industry that consumes a massive amount of coal for its boiler operation. It requires substantial costs to obtain coal from Sumatra and Kalimantan. An alternative solid biofuel (briquette) was developed to combine bottom ash and biomass made from municipal solid waste called Biomass Coal Fuel (BCF) briquette. The purpose of this study is to measure the total concentration of particulate matter and emission factor (PM) emitted from two burning experiments: only coal (100%) and mixed coal fuel with 10% of BCF (co-firing). Mixed coal and BCF burning are carried out in the fire-tube boiler where the PM emission is released through the stack. The Center for Pulp and Paper measured particulate emission with methodology referring to SNI 7117.17-2009. Particulate matter concentration emitted from only coal-burning was 12,1 mg/Nm3,but when mixed BCF and coal were used, the higher concentration was emitted 70,9 mg/Nm3. The addition of BCF briquettes affects the particulate matter emission, even though the emission does not exceed the regulated quality standard. The increase of particulate concentration is due to the BCF briquette characteristics, which have a low heating value and high ash content. The boiler has already been equipped with cyclone and wet scrubber; therefore, PM emissions presented here are treated emissions. The controlled PM emission factor of BCF was 4,46 g/kg, which is higher than only coal which was 0,51 g/kg.
