This study determined the relationship between emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction of married teachers in Anambra state.three research questions were formulated to guide the study while three null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Correlational research design was adopted for the study. A sample size of 1,344 married teachers was drawn from a population of 6,987 married teachers. A multi-stage sampling procedure was followed selecting the sample. Two instruments: Emotional intelligence Scale (EIS) and Index of Marital Satisfaction (IMS) were adopted and used for data collection. The instruments are standardised measures and have the following reliability coefficient; 0.96 for IMS, 0.89 and for EIS. Data was collected through direct delivery approach. Data collected were analysed. Pearson correlation coefficients and regression analysis were used to answer research questions and test the hypotheses. Findings of the study showed among others that there is a significant low relationship existing among married teachers’ emotional intelligence and their marital satisfaction. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended, among others that married teachers should be encouraged by the Counselors involved in marital counselling to pursue habits and attitudes that promote marital satisfaction through periodic seminars and counseling sessions.","PeriodicalId":245027,"journal":{"name":"The European Journal of Educational Sciences","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125622145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the study, the level of internet addiction was compared with variables such as gender, physical exercise patterns, accommodation preference, marital status of the family, cigarette and alcohol consumption, grade point average, frequently used social media platform type, daily time spent on internet. A total of 250 university students, 78 females and 172 males, with an average age of 21.52 ± 2.88, participated in the study on a voluntary basis. In the research, the 20-clause “Internet Addiction Scale” developed by Young (1998) was used for data collection tool. Results showed that the internet addiction point average of the students participating in the research was below 49 points which falls into without risk zone. However, internet addiction levels varied according to various variables. Within the scope of the study, it would be possible that daily internet use of 8 hours or more may lead to the average of risky internet addiction score, and that students who have smoking or alcohol addiction may be more prone to internet addiction.","PeriodicalId":245027,"journal":{"name":"The European Journal of Educational Sciences","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121169434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A total of 225 students at Acibadem University, 74.7% women and 25.3% men, participated in the study voluntarily. The “Sport Spectator Identification Scale” developed by Wann and Branscombe (1993) was administered as the data collection instrument of the study. The validity and reliability study in Turkish was completed by Günay and Tiryaki (2003). The scale is in Likert-type which is scored between 1 and 8 and has a single dimension consisting of 7 items. Scores were represented as 1= not important, and 8= very important, in which high scores signified high identification levels. The internal consistency of the scale (Cronbach Alpha) was .93. Shapiro Wilk test was applied to identify the normal distribution of the data and a non-normal distribution was found. In the analysis of the data, Mann Whitney U test was applied for gender, and Kruskal Wallis test was used for age, monthly income, class and teams they support. To the research results, while there was a significant difference in the identification level of university students with the teams they support, in terms of gender, class, teams and matches they follow, no meaningful difference was found for age and monthly income variables.","PeriodicalId":245027,"journal":{"name":"The European Journal of Educational Sciences","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131767710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Literature informs us that the key challenge to the Computerized School Selection and Placement System was the human factor in terms of refusal of parents and students to accept placement into other schools apart from their chosen high endowed schools. It is also found from the literature of this paper that, there was the challenge of some parents not being able to pay the school fees for their wards who have been placed in private schools due to the high cost of private schools' fees. Methodologically, this paper relied primarily on secondary sources of information such as online literatures on computerized school selection, archives, some excerpts from the daily graphic among others. Parents, Headteachers of Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools, students, policy makers and stakeholders in education were the focus in this study. Finally, the review established that the CSSPS has become fertile grounds for bribery and corruption in our dear country Ghana. From the review, it is therefore recommended that there is the need to revisit the policy of developing some of the senior high schools in each region as model schools, with all the modern facilities required in a standard second cycle school. Also, we recommend that Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ghana Education Service (GES) should provide inputs in time to the least endowed schools and also upgrade the infrastructural facilities in the least endowed schools to make them attractive to students so as to reduce pressure on the highly board for us to see how best we could evaluate and modify the system for the betterment of the children and our nation.","PeriodicalId":245027,"journal":{"name":"The European Journal of Educational Sciences","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114458883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Work distribution, access to the digital library and the number of PhD faculty members in the institutes, are important for Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) because they directly influence on quality of academic education and services being provided to the students. Mixed method approach is adopted. Quantitative results were obtained by carrying out survey in Pakistan while qualitative results were obtained through literature review. This research makes use of quantitative approach and investigates four different HEIs of Pakistan. The questionnaire was divided into three sections: 1) Role of work distribution; 2) access to the digital library; and 3) the number of Faculty members in the PhD faculty. A critical review was carried out for investigating the quality of HEIs in China because survey accessibility issues were faced when adopting quantitative approach. Analysis showed that most of the QAFs in Pakistan were weak in all three factors. Yet China had a better score when compared to Pakistan showing good work distribution; high number of digital libraries; and an adequate number of PhD faculty members.","PeriodicalId":245027,"journal":{"name":"The European Journal of Educational Sciences","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121337793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Academic study provides an experience that requires exercise of self-regulation to attain success much as the need to survive and thrive through trauma. Research has indicated role of student-driven factors such as self-regulation in academic performance. A study conducted with educators in training provided indication that educators are enriched to help students grow in self-regulation as the educators themselves practice facets of selfregulation The study examined self-regulation from selected scales of the MSLQ of Organization, Resource Management, Effort regulation, and HelpSeeking. Discussion of results provides implications for building resilience for support in trauma. Study results will assist educators in promotion of student self-regulation behaviors that can facilitate successful academic endeavor and habit formation of resilience practices. Answers will also provide guidance to educators and institutions on priority of effort in students support for selfregulation.","PeriodicalId":245027,"journal":{"name":"The European Journal of Educational Sciences","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115787421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Critical conscience as increased awareness, understanding, and desire for advocacy is increased through experiential learning of pre-service educators as they engage in the lives of student populations they serve. A graduate course in work with multicultural populations routinely includes immersion experiences of pre-service educators in a population of students they teach and other than their own population. Selected student experiences and subsequent reflections were examined for results with relevance to application in amelioration of risks and promotion of resilience with chronic trauma. The study resulted in student reports of increased critical conscience. Based on literature reviews for the study, this enhanced critical conscience contributes to educator preparation for greater efficacy with intervention for amelioration of trauma impact and promotion of resilience development with future students whom they will teach.","PeriodicalId":245027,"journal":{"name":"The European Journal of Educational Sciences","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127992534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
