There is also limited research that examines the factors that influence consumers to purchase on cross-border e-commerce although there is quite a number of past research that investigates consumers' intention to purchase online. On the other hand, e-commerce fashion is absolutely evolving at a fast pace. What worked two years ago may no longer be relevant due to changing consumer preferences and perceptions. Hence, it is crucial to examine the fashion market and investigate the importance of consumers’ perceived values that may influence consumers’ purchase intentions. Following this, 113 data sets from Malaysians living in Klang Valley could be obtained through online surveys. The data was then analysed to identify the relationship between the variables by using multiple linear regression via SPSS. It can be concluded that hedonic value and social value have a significant relationship with purchase intention. However, there is no significant relationship between utilitarian value and purchase intention. Global managers and marketing professionals who want to increase consumers' propensity for online shopping should consider whether their messages to consumers, the variety of products and brands offered, marketing strategies, and pricing should be more utilitarian or hedonistic in nature. Additionally, managers need to create suitable initiatives to motivate the kinds of value perceptions in consumers that will significantly boost their propensity for cross-border online shopping.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126428378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An assessment is provided in this study to examine the Malaysian tourism market dynamics. A series of macroeconomic variables has been utilised to model tourism demand and examine causal linkages among tourism and economic growth. Spanning from 2000 till 2018 on a monthly basis, the Markov regime switching regression provides an overview of tourism market performance and potential influences during recession and expansion periods of the Malaysian tourism cycle. Notably, the results present a reference chronology of the crises happening over the past two decades, the Granger causality of the variables, and different behavioural changes of the variables as well for both recession and expansion periods. Significant relationships have been revealed in this study that suggest that overall international tourism can drive economic growth and vice versa.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121510456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the micro-level, the impact of market orientation as one of the main strategic orientations on performance was investigated. The statistical population of the study can be considered as 4,000 people. According to Morgan's table, we have tested the hypothesis using a sample of 351 people working in Iranian firms active in the healthcare field of supplying and manufacturing medical equipment and devices. So, we sent 351 questionnaires for data collection, and 247 were completed and then used for data analysis. This study emphasized the significant function of the market and strategic orientations on the organization's performance. By considering innovation as the mediator in this relationship, it has been found that innovation is critical in intensifying and improving business performance. Finally, we propose that managers, especially senior to middle ones, be alert and routinely seek appropriate strategies to implement in their department or firm following changes in a business environment and continuous technological advances.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121564952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We consider time constraints because sleep only requires time, and we assumed that consumption also requires time. By doing so, we reveal how workers decide their hours slept. Of particular importance is the result that workers store their health capital by sleeping more than the optimal value at a young age, which leads to increased output. Moreover, we identify a complementary relationship between consumption and labor supply. These results show that policies to reduce hours worked could improve workers' health capital and social welfare.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123007222","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study's goal is to scientifically evaluate the link between corporate social responsibility and a university's sustainable competitive advantage. A conceptual model was created based on strategic corporate social innovation literature. The research was quantitative, and the variables were measured using the literature guide to build the research questionnaire. The analysis used structural equation modelling and the result revealed that Corporate Social Responsibility in relation to Customers or/and Students (CSRCS), Employees (CSRE), Government (CSRG) and Social stakeholders (CSRS) has a major impact on a university's sustained competitive advantage. Management and employees at universities can learn how to apply differentiation techniques to address community issues related to healthcare, economic, sociocultural, and environmental. For quality research and community outreach that better fulfill social needs, innovative, quality-based approaches must be developed. The study extends the existing literature by empirically validating the relationship between CSR and a university's sustainable comparative advantage.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120956955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) initiated a training programme for rice farmers in three regions in Northern Ghana. Indeed, the benefits of training could be social, cognitive, economic or both. The training was intended to help increase rice farmers yield leading to productivity and profitability. This study was set up to evaluate the extent to which the rainfed lowland rice training programme influenced changes and improvement in socio-economic status of the rice farmers. A sample of 257 out of the total population of 880 was selected across both sex for this study. The analysis showed that all participants in the training benefitted in the form of changes in their socio-economic statuses as well as cognitive improvement. Various assets were acquired from proceeds of excess rice sole after feeding their families. One asset the majority of the farmers acquired was cell phone with all the women farmers acquiring cooking utensils either for their domestic use or in preparation towards settling their daughters when they are due for marriage. It was established that the rice training programme was beneficial to farmers and therefore should be extended to cover all rice farmers in the three regions in particular and to rice farmers in Ghana in general.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130115691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to establish the mediating effect of supply chain integration on the relationship between continuous improvement and innovation and operational performance in Ghana's cocoa supply chain. This conceptual paper recommends an inclusive model that incorporates continuous improvement and innovation, supply chain integration as well as operational performance, underpinned by resourced based view theory. The proposed model is to establish the direct and indirect effects of continuous improvement and innovation as an antecedent of supply chain management practices on operational performance through the influence of supply chain integration in the cocoa context, leading to improvement in the business operational performance. This study will contribute to the literature by empirically examining the interface between continuous improvement and innovation, supply chain integration and operational performance, with supply chain integration serving as a predictive variable.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134253362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While creating public value has become more relevant for public managers and policymakers, it has not been adopted in developing countries instead of developed countries. Therefore, the policymakers represent the government, and public managers must demonstrate a commitment toward individuals to ensure their public value aligns with the new public administration movement. Despite the absence of a strategic plan for creating public value, individuals increasingly call for improved well-being by increasing pressure on institutions or using social media to achieve these demands, especially in countries with a democratic system. Because of this, a newly coined theoretical framework to adopt public value creation (APVC) was developed based on the traditional model of public value creation by enhancing a new institutional theory in line with the role of social media. It is based on research that shows how public value theory, new institutional theory, and social media's mediating effects create public value. It also extends the current literature on public management and strategic management. The paper provides new insights into public administration for public value creation in developing countries.","PeriodicalId":244811,"journal":{"name":"Business Management and Strategy","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116671133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
