The sensor is intended to gauge the thickness of rubber during production as it passes on a steel calendar or drum. The need for high accuracy, real time measurements and continuous coverage of the material necessitated a unique approach to the design including simulation and system development. The current work describes modeling, simulation and optimization of system parameters for an in-plant system designed for gauging purposes. The final production system will consist of a single open stripline resonator moving back and forth across the width of the dielectric sampling the material continuously. A network analyzer is used for monitoring of the system's resonant frequency because of its accuracy, ruggedness and because its interface allows continuous modifications, analysis and monitoring across the internet so that engineers can remotely monitor the production, the quality of the product and intervene as needed. A computer monitors the motion of the sensor across the fabric, marks the location of the sensor and records the output together with time signatures and material data for later reference. PV plant of 3 kWp linked to an agro-refrigeration unit during summer period and to the loads of the solar energy laboratory the rest of the year. It also describes the procedures followed to convert it to a remotely monitored one using the Web services. The signals and data from the different elements of the PV plant are managed through MatLab software loaded in a PC dedicated to the plant. For this purpose, a special data acquisition and management system was developed. In addition, the global solar radiation along with other signals from the Meteo Station, were transferred to the same PC. A solar radiation prediction model, developed in MatLab, was used to provide ex ante the energy to be delivered by the PV generator during a day. The PC is linked to the Web, where PV data are presented on line. It is, then, possible to remotely control and manage the PV plant by distance, on a daily basis. The stability analysis of the stator current-based MRASCC estimator of the induction motor is presented. The influence of equivalent circuit parameter changes of the induction motor as well as coefficients of the adaptation algorithm of the MRASCC estimator to the pole placement of the estimator transfer function and stability of the whole drive system is analysed and tested. The classical PI controller in speed adaptation algorithm of the MRASCC estimator is changed by the nonlinear, fuzzy logic controller, resulting in the MRASCCFL. The minimum and maximum operation speed, the speed range, the response time, the noise level, the reliability and the cost price are decisive elements for the economic and technical success of a constructive solution for a motor. This thing can be carried out with the help of the electronic computer on the basis of some adequate programs, which arc to lead to an economic fabrication and utilization of the robot driving electrical equipments. The motor behaviour is studied when it is supplied with a voltage modifying by an imposed law, at constant or variable resistant torque etc., by considering that in such cases the machine inductances are variable with the magnetic saturation. As the fuel-cell generators are usually connected to the grid through power electronic converters, the ripple of the converter input current has become an important issue to be evaluated. In fact, methods to eliminate the low-frequency ripple current absorbed by the fuel cell is one of the today's topic of research in power conditioning for fuel cell systems. The aim of this paper is to present a single-phase power conditioner designed to reduce this current ripple. It is composed of a special ionization chamber and an analogue/digital processing unit based on a microcontroller. Besides radon detection, this detector is capable of emitting an alarm signal (in case of high radon concentrations) and of transmitting the measurement data to a remote location along with the geographic position of the detector through a GPS/GPRS modem. Because of the synchronous operation (based on the GPS clock) the detector can work in a network covering a large geological fault, displaying measured data locally or over the Internet. Among the solutions, the hybrid electric vehicles are proposed to replace the conventional vehicles, due to their advantages of zero pollutant emissions, high efficiency and multi energy sources. In this paper a modular configuration representing a hybrid electric vehicle of 75 CP at 1/10 scale is described. The test bench is realized in the GESC Laboratory of UTBM Belfort and is containing many sources of energy: fuel tank, batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells. The scheme and the structure of the modular test bench including the existing and the future functions are presented. Variables measured by multiple sensors h ave to b e associated with spatial coordinates and synchronized in time. Sensors outputs are, however, dependent not only on the inputs from measured variables, but also by the instrument inner dynamics. Sensor fusion is accurate only if it uses signals with properly calibrated magnitudes and with the same phase shifts. An effective approach for achieving these requirements is dynamic calibration of individual sensors output signals. This paper investigates dynamic calibration as an inverse problem and proposes to use the solutions developed for such problems. As counter- measures, passive filter components and advanced control methods have been proposed [2]. Furthermore, some other configurations of the converter, like neutral point clamped inverter, are able to provide common mode free output voltages under some restrictions in the modulation scheme. Recently Mohan [8] proposed an arrangement of two matrix converters to feed an open winding arrangement of a three phase AC motor. This configuration combines the advantages of an increased output voltage with a common mode free output voltage supply. Unfortunately, the control range for the input reactive current is limited by some restrictions in the control scheme. The aim of this paper is to increase the control range of the input reactive current to the same value as reached with the conventional matrix converter in [9].
