Among its more notable strong points are on-demand reactive power support for the grid, better power quality, current limiting, management of distributed storage devices and a dc bus. Most of the nation's power grid currently operates one way - power flows from the utility to the consumer - and traditional transformers simply change voltage from one level to another. But smart transformers, based on power semiconductor switches, are more versatile. Not only can they change voltage levels, but also can effectively control the power flow in both directions. The development of a Solid State Transformer (SST) that incorporates a DC-DC multiport converter to integrate both photovoltaic (PV) power generation and battery energy storage is presented in this paper. The DC-DC stage is based on a quad active-bridge (QAB) converter which not only provides isolation for the load, but also for the PV and storage. The AC-DC stage is implemented with a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) single phase rectifier. A novel technique that complements the SISO controller by taking into account the cross coupling characteristics of the QAB converter is also presented herein. Cascaded SISO controllers are designed for the AC-DC stage. The QAB demanded power is calculated at the QAB controls and then fed into the rectifier controls in order to minimize the effect of the interaction between the two SST stages. We explain system functionality with authorization and Authentication. As discussed in [2] neighbourhood rough set model is one approach which deals with heterogeneous feature selection. The neighbourhood model is used to reduce numerical and categorical features by assigning different thresholds for different kinds of attributes. Recently Neighbourhood Based Multigranular Rough sets (NMGRS) was introduced and their properties were studied. We shall provide some critical appreciations of the results of this paper. One of the two characteristics used in real life applications of rough sets is their topological characterisations. In this article we study topological characteristics NMGRS. Some interesting algebraic properties of MGRSs were studied recently in [3]. We extend these studies to the NMGRS context. It is attractive to business owners as it eliminates the requirement for users to plan ahead for provisioning and allows enterprises to start from the small and increase resources only when there is a rise in service demand. Central component that manages the allocation of virtual resources for a cloud infrastructure's physical resources is known as the cloud scheduler. Currently available schedulers do not consider users' security and privacy requirements and properties of entire cloud infrastructure. These results in major security, privacy and resilience concerns. The ability of cloud infrastructure is to support the internet scale critical applications. Without strong assurance, organizations should not outsource their critical applications to the cloud. It is one of the challenging problems to address. In this paper, we propose a secure and reliable cloud scheduler which consider both user requirements and infrastructure properties and supported by trustworthy data enabling the scheduler to make the right decision. We focus on assuring users that their virtual resources are hosted using physical resources that match their requirements without getting users involved with understanding the details of the cloud infrastructure. It is used to detect and diagnose breast disease in women who either have breast problems such as a lump, pain or nipple discharge as well as for women who have no breast complaints. Digitized mammographic image is analysed for masses, calcifications, or areas of abnormal density that may indicate the presence of cancer. Automated systems to analyse and classify the mammogram images as benign or malignant will drive the medical experts to take timely clinical decision. In this work, the mammogram classification task carried out using powerful supervised classification techniques namely Extreme Learning Machine with kernels like linear, polynomial, radial basis function and Genetic Programming. The various task involved in this work are image preprocessing, feature extraction, building models through training and testing the classifier. The two types of mammogram image, Benign and Malignant are considered in this work and 50 images for each type collected from Mini MIAS database. Selection of Region of Interest (ROI) from the original image and Adaptive Histogram Enhancement are applied on the mammogram image before extracting the intensity histogram and gray level co-occurrence matrix features. In the dataset, for training 80% of the data are used and for testing 20% of data are used. Models are built using Extreme Learning Machine and Genetic Programming. The performances of the models are tested with test dataset and the results are compared. Filter bank is an enabling technique for numerous capabilities such as speech coding, Noise reduction, Sub band coding and auditory compensation. The design procedure mainly concentrates on the core part of the system which is the type of the filter. However, it imposes several solutions to many problems high computation complexity, area and power consumption are most critical concern. In digital hearing aid application, the filter bank improves the sound ability for hearing-impaired people. The scope of this work is to give an overview of the filter bank algorithms under various traits and the challenges that they face, along with the current state-of-the-art. To enhance the feasibility of the design by applying the characteristics of the filter banks for suitable applications. This paper covers wide range of issues in the design of filter bank. The contribution of this paper is threefold. First, we show the functional role of filter bank. Second, the classifications of filter bank algorithms for the hearing instruments. In which the effect of (ISI) inter symbol interference is minimum. One of the major problem in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) System is high Peak -to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). So the system requires high power amplifier with large dynamic range. It is very difficult to design such an amplifier with high efficiency. Many researchers working on PAPR reduction techniques, they proposed different methods; one of the simplest method is Clipping, Clipping and filtering. Other methods are Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS), Selective Mapping (SLM), Tone reservation (TR) etc. These are distortion less methods. In this paper we analyzed the PAPR reduction performance of OFDM system using both distortion and distortion less methods i.e.(i) Clipping (ii) Clipping and Filtering with different clipping Ratios (CR's) and(iii) PTS method with different number of sub locks. From simulation results clipping method shows good PAPR reduction with significant amount of BER degradation. Clipping and filtering method shows slight increase in PAPR with small degradation in BER performance than Clipping method and both methods are computationally less complex.
