However, the mechanism by which this occurs is yet to be established. And although many studies of this sort have emerged the world over, this topic has still been under-researched in the Arabian Gulf, a region with a high preponderance of T2DM. Aims: To establish the psychometric properties of an instrument for soliciting depressive symptoms among patients with T2DM, to calculate the prevalence of depressive symptoms and to tease out the factors that contribute to variations in depressive symptoms. Method: A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was conducted to establish the cut-off for case-ness or otherwise. Variations in depressive symptoms were solicited using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-21) and clinical variables and risk factors were sought from medical records . Results : One hundred and four individuals fulfilled the study criteria (response rate = 69%). The ROC-suggested cut-off ≥13 on the BDI-21 matched with 94% sensitivity and 71% specificity. Using this cut-off, 7.7% of the sample endorsed depressive symptoms. Age, marital status, and income were found to strongly moderate the depressive symptoms. Conclusion: The low prevalence rate observed in the present study places the results of this study on the lower ranges when compared to the international trend. Nevertheless, mechanisms are needed to mitigate the presence of depressive symptoms among people seeking consultation in diabetic clinics in Oman.","PeriodicalId":243213,"journal":{"name":"Ageing Science & Mental Health Studies","volume":"432 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116060016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the world aged population increases (by 2 billion persons in the next 30 years from 7.7 billion currently to 9.7 billion in 2050), number of older adults aged 65 years and over is projected to proportionately grow by 50% from about 727 million in 2020 to more than 1.5 billion by 2050 [2] invariably implying that one in six people worldwide will be aged 65 years and over. Averagely, the number of older adults manifesting symptoms of mental disorders such as depression is set to increase proportionately among the estimated population. Good news however is that mental health issues in late life has been explored within different population of older adults globally.","PeriodicalId":243213,"journal":{"name":"Ageing Science & Mental Health Studies","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122514203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The processes of thinking are given in the form of internal speech. The perception of internal speech involves the primary and secondary crust centers of analyzers, which record the corresponding waves, signals and rhythms and qualify them as language. This is achieved in two ways: either use functional neuroimaging and other additional research methods that allow localizing the structures currently functioning, or select patients with damage to certain areas and conduct a detailed neurocognitive study in comparison with healthy people from the control group, determining which functions in this lesion fall out. The principal issue of internal speech research is languages. A more complex question is the study of the connection of thinking, memory with internal speech. Now, especially when neurologists take into account the plasticity of the brain, functional relationships, general principles, pathways of excitation are of greater interest. Technologists of non-invasive neurointerfaces use methods and technologies to localize structures that control the understanding and reproduction of internal speech, the communication between them, the stages of speech signal processing and the role of each structure at these stages. The introduction to the study highlights approaches and methods for identifying various functional speech aspects. The mental lexicon section discloses the semantic component and the syntactic component, as well as the perceived and reproducible forms of words of internal speech. The section holographic human consciousness describes aspects of storing life information. The hologram of consciousness is the main form of storage of information about human life. In the section, holographic fixation of internal speech presents functional magnetic resonance tomography focused on BOLD effect detection, which is today the optimal tool for mapping neuronal activity, more precisely, the functional state of neural networks - the basis for visualizing our holographic images in real time. Using nanoresonators with Fourier transducers, the brain activity of a human internal speech holographic image can fix mental noninvasive neurointerface in language form by mental lexicon.","PeriodicalId":243213,"journal":{"name":"Ageing Science & Mental Health Studies","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131928961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to WHO (2005), these diseases are characterised by the extent of their impact on daily life not only for patients but also for those around them. Chronic disease disrupts everything in individuals, from their state of health to their quality of life, their friendships and family, their hobbies and their professional life. HIV/AIDS discovered in the United States in 1983 by Luc Montagnier has remained for long, one of the deadliest diseases in the history of diseases on the planet and has aroused great scientific interest at the medical and psychosocial level. Advances in medicine have led to the discovery of antiretroviral drugs which prevent the multiplication of viruses in cells. Several studies have been carried out on the factors involved in the experience of People Living with HIV (PLHIV). These include works [1] which have highlighted the feeling of guilt by highlighting stigma as its main determinant. They also showed that self-stigma was the major form of stigma. It is estimated in their study at 46% compared to stigma in interpersonal relationships evaluated at 40% and stigma in health services which is 11%. Dietiker (2013) argues that guilt in PLHIV results from moral judgment. This judgment then triggers various feelings such as shame, annoyance, anger, sadness or anxiety. Students as those who can have an important role in current situation and especially the future of a country in order to be favorable conditions for using cyberspace are undoubtedly more vulnerable to the dangers of cyberspace. Therefore, this research intends to determine whether identity styles and academic burnout are effective on internet addiction in students? Method: To investigate this, we used the correlation research method and the Pearson and regression statistical method. And among all students of the Islamic Azad University of Sari, three sample groups were selected 155 people equally as examples and were used to collect data required from the ISI Browinsky identity questionnaire and for educational assessment of the questionnaire and to measure the Internet addiction assay from the Kimberly Young questionnaire. Conclusion: There is a relation between identity styles and Internet addiction in students, it is found that the link between the style of identity and normative information identity with Internet addiction is negative. It may be because the use of the internet is slowly addicted to the negative attractiveness of the internet, creating the impression that it can","PeriodicalId":243213,"journal":{"name":"Ageing Science & Mental Health Studies","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115642072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
