One of the most important aspects of this in marketing is to understand the behavioral patterns of customers, in order to meet their needs and achieve business objectives. The consumer behavior analysis is key to establish the level of preferences expressed by the consumer towards a product or service. For this reason, conjoint analysis (CA) is one of the main models in the field of consumer research. This paper identifies the usefulness of CA as a marketing strategy in new product development (NPD). An application to â€œForte Hotel Designâ€ (presented by Lilien and Rangaswamy, 2004) is developed to highlight how CA can be an effective tool for marketing new products/services. Forte Hotels is a European hotel chain that wants to open a new facility in the United States. This research demostrates that there are multiple ways to conduct marketing research for any product or service. While the Forte Hotel case study used segmentation and targeting tools in its original analysis, the study shows that CA can also be used to analyze this marketing problem and can lead to similar decisions. This study highlights the value of CA as a tool to evaluate product attributes and shows its value in helping to make marketing decisions. It also shows that there is more than one way to dissect a marketing problem. The original case was solved using segmentation and targeting marketing tools, but this study shows that CA can be used to effectively make marketing decisions on new product development that lead to the same results/decisions as other marketing tools. This study shows original ways of using CA, to dissect a service design problem in new product development and to facilitate both product management and project management.","PeriodicalId":242450,"journal":{"name":"Int. Most of the studies in developing countries including Pakistan, have considered more conventional measures, like firm financial performance to examine the impact of corporate governance (CG). Theoretically, firm financial performance optimization has little role in maximizing SVC, that rarely streams to shareholders' exchequer. Therefore, the study is unique in its nature that identifies market capitalization, the most appropriate measure of value creation for shareholders over long run. The authors gathered panel and longitudinal data pertaining to PSX-100 listed firm over the period of 10 years ranging from 2006-15, which is analyzed using multivariate regression. Hausman and Likelihood tests guide the process of appropriate econometrics model selection. Empirical findings reveal that CG dimensions such as audit committee independence (ACI), managerial ownership (MO) and ownership concentration (OC) have positive impact on SVC, except board size (BS) and board independence (BI). The study offers valuable policy recommendations to make CG practices more effective, however, application of the model proposition at macro and micro level can be a substantial extension to literature incorporating some controlling dimensions.","PeriodicalId":242450,"journal":{"name":"Int. Marketplaces known as insurance exchanges have been established to provide coverage for Americans who otherwise could not get affordable health care benefits. These exchanges have been plagued with financial losses and other challenges leading to several large insurance providers discontinuing participation in the program. There are many possible remedies under consideration to make the program work better. This research seeks to support program evaluation as well as potential modifications to the law by providing baseline data to compare access and costs in states with state-based exchanges compared to states with federal exchanges. In view of this, many companies have implemented the ISO14001 system in their supply chain to comply with green regulations. However, implementing such a system involves technical and communication efforts; hence, an effective method is needed to support the implementation. In this paper, the authors propose a value engineering (VE)-based model with quality tools to support the implementation of the ISO14001 system in the Green Supply Chains. In it, they applied the framework of VE with the quality engineering tools Fishbone Analysis and Failure Mode Effect Analysis for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of green issues in supply chains to cover quality, risk, and value of the system. The proposed method was applied to a global electronics manufacturing company in Taiwan, and the application results showed positive outputs in terms of CO2 emission, power consumption, water consumption, and waste water recovery.
