The following research questions are addressed by this research: 1. What are the factors in English pronunciation affecting Banggaini students? 2. What are the main factors affecting the English pronunciation of Banggainese learners? The participants of this research are 5 learners from Banggai Kepualauan (BangKep) who are still collaged in English Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. The research design was qualitatively descriptive. The data were collected via documentation and in-depth interviews with five representatives involved in audio recording. An interview is an instrument that the researcher used as collecting data. The finding of this research is: Six factors are affecting Banggainese learners in learning English pronunciation among others are; Age of learners, language exposure, type and amount of preliminary speech instruction, skill, attitude and motivation, the role of the native language, new research directions, personal endeavors, and goals. The first one is the Hallidayan approach which takes substance from Halliday’s Theories on group and phrase clauses under the classification of process, participant and circumstance. The second approach is the method adopted by the Indian linguist Syal, in his book entitled Structure and Stylein commonwealth Literature. This method is issued to analyze the ideational function of texts from the perspective of grammatical classes of words like verbs, nouns, adjectives, prepositional phrases etc. It derives the interpretation from the textuality of the text, taking into account the fact that textuality reflects a particular social and cultural orientation through meaning, stated or implied, embedded in the discourse. The purpose of this study is to see how the ideational functions have been used to allow entry into the world of Idanre and to have a fulfilling interpretation of the poem, using grammar as the basis for the analysis. Since there are so many linguistics elements that exists in both of the language, the researcher try to investigate the Phonetic aspect of the language. This article uses the Descriptive Qualitative research design that elaborating and describing the whole perspective of how the sound of each language elements change when it is pronounced and it is exactly convey the different meaning. The researchers use the Literature review as the techniques of collecting data. The source of the data comes from the Book of Batak Grammar created by J. Echools and H.van der tuuk which is vividly points out the theory of Batak language grammatically. This article adopts the CA or Contrastive Analysis technique in analyzing the data and it is found that there is a similarity and the differences in Batak language sound (Vowel and Consonant) with The English version. Therefore, the stories told in Sohibul Hikayat, among others, came from Persia, such as One Thousand and One Nights, Nurul Laila, and Alfu Lail wal Lail. The storyteller is presented in the form of prose, and even some rhymes are inserted, there are no specific scenes or humorous characters, such as in wayang, mask, or lenong. The purpose of writing this article is to find out the text, context, and survival of Sohibul Hikayat's oral tradition in the community by making efforts to protect Sohibul Hikayat's wealth as a national asset from extinction, documenting Sohibul Hikayat as an effort to preserve, study in the form of analysis and grouping Sohibul Hikayat status. The stories in Sohibul Hikayat often combine fictitious stories and true stories. The combination of these two types of stories aims to educate and convey the moral message to the listeners. Interesting stories accompanied by interludes of humor in it are also a special entertainment for connoisseurs Sohibul Hikayat. The theory of politeness strategies was by Brown and Levinson (1987). The research method was descriptive qualitative research with content analysis, because the data were collected from document. The researchers chose 4 videos and title first “cewek paling cute and sweet” in Ome TV launched in February 5th, 2021 with a duration of 17 minutes, second “Fiki naki seneng banget ketemu calon istri baru cantik” launched in October 4th, 2021 with a duration of 13 minutes 19 second, third “ Ciwi ciwi Norwegia histeris karna ini”, launched in April 19th 2021 with duration 19 minutes 33 second , fourth “Aku Buat Heboh Cewe - Cewe Di Ome TV” launched in April 14th 2021 with duration 18 minutes 33 second. There were some steps in collecting the data, such as: familiarizing and organizing, coding and reducing, interpreting and representing. The result showed that there were 38 Positive and Negative politeness strategies found in Ome TV by Fiki naki on Youtube, they were: positive politeness 30 (79%), negative politeness 8(21%) . The most dominant type of politeness strategies found in Talk Show by Jimmy Fallon was Positive Politeness. Positive Politeness was done by speaker and hearer to made enjoyable situation, build good relation, good interaction. The psychoanalytic review of the extinction of local languages is to view the extinction of language psychologically in the notion of macro functions of language according to Garvin and Mathiot (1956) who say that language as (1) unifying and (2) separator. Some implications in this paper are tried to be drawn: (1) local culture (theoretically) will also become extinct along with the extinction of local languages; (2) the possibility of the provincialism emergence (and the implication of the separatist movements) is reduced: (3) The cost of maintaining the local languages can be eliminated and the cost of learning the national language can be concentrated on planning and learning Indonesian language so that this language reaches the level of a modern and effective language; (5) all efforts can be concentrated against the domination of English over the national language; (6) the sense of nationality of the Indonesian people will become stronger, and (7) cultural diversity will decrease. Without such policies, languages can die or become extinct naturally.
