We compare the performance of two such methods: the frequency-transform based notch filter and the energy separation algorithm. We show that the FTBNF tracks almost as well as the Teager-Kaiser operator in high SNR conditions, and that its performance is significantly better in low SNR conditions.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. We develop a fast sequential-estimation algorithm for separating multi-user signals based on the geometric observation made by Hansen and Xu (see Proc. ICASSP'96, p.1085-88, Atlanta, GA, 1996). When the signals are constrained to a finite alphabet, it is possible to visualize the geometric properties of the problem, which can be exploited to sequentially extract the digital co-channel communication signals. We present simulation results comparing the speed and BER performance with different methods.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. Offset errors caused by device mismatch are cancelled using an autozeroing technique. The gain cell and subtractor is designed using a differential mode source follower to maximize the speed and minimize the power consumption and die area. The automatic gain calibration scheme is addressed. The circuit implementation enables operation at a 20 MHz sampling rate with only 25 mW average power dissipation. It achieves 10-bit resolution with the die area being less than 0.8 mm/sup 2/ in a 0.8 /spl mu/m technology.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. We establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the relationship between the distance of the slices and the grid size, under which reconstruction is possible. The conducted statistical analysis of the method indicates that, if the n-th order spectrum estimates are asymptotically unbiased and consistent, the system estimates are asymptotically unbiased and consistent too. The ability to select the slices to be used for reconstruction enables one to avoid regions of the n-th order spectrum where the estimation variance is high, or where the ideal bispectrum is expected to be zero, as in the case of bandlimited systems. We finally demonstrate via simulations the superiority, in terms of estimation bias and variance, of the proposed method over existing approaches in the case of bandlimited systems.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. With augmentations based in other countries, the GNSS becomes a truly global positioning system, able to track aircraft anywhere on the globe with accuracies on the order of a few feet. We investigate the application of system-level diagnosis (SLD) to the GNSS to assess the diagnosability and fault tolerance of the system. We show, in a deterministic manner the number of faulty elements that can exist in the system and still allow for the accurate diagnosis of the system. Our deterministic approach is in contrast to other known probabilistic approach.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. The technique developed makes only two basic assumptions of a minimum hopping time and a minimum frequency hopping differential. The approach is based on the phase information of the temporal correlation function and the resulting discrete wavelet transform of the phase information is used to estimate the hopping time of frequency hopping signals. Results show the proposed scheme is robust to additive white Gaussian noise degradations for SNR levels of 3 dB and above.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. Blind SIMO-FIR second order identification: a robust approach 盲SIMO-FIR二阶辨识:一种鲁棒方法

Gorokhov","doi":"10.1109/ACSSC.1997.679174","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ACSSC.1997.679174","url":null,"abstract":"This paper addresses the problem of the second order blind identification of single input multiple output (SIMO) finite impulse response (FIR) systems. The advantage of using the second order methods lies in rather weak assumptions on the system structure and the properties of the input signal. Only a good diversity of measurements at different outputs is required to achieve high estimation accuracy when the sample size is limited. However an important drawback of such methods is the high sensitivity to the order modeling errors. The known methods which are robust in the presence of order modeling errors exploit a supplementary information on the data model. A new approach to the adaptive order selection, proposed in this paper requires no supplementary knowledge about the systems nor the input signals. The author presents a particular deterministic version of this general approach which yields perfect identification in the noiseless case.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. It is well known that CDMA soft handoff can result in gains both in coverage and in number of users supported. In this paper we extend the analysis of Veeravalli and Sendonaris to derive analytical expressions that quantify the gains from soft handoff. Our analysis may be used in cellular planning in the following two ways: first, to calculate the coverage of cells based on the amount of traffic they will support; and second, to set hard limits on the number of users admitted into the cell in order to meet coverage requirements.","PeriodicalId":240431,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat.
