Every country intends to meet the additional demand of energy in part by renewable energy sources (RES). To meet the global energy demand various support schemes and policies for promotion of renewable energy sources in restructured power sector are discussed in this paper. These Support policies for renewable energies encourage the economic viability of electrical power generation from renewable energy sources. These policies reduce one or more key barriers in the development path of renewable energy. The resonance mechanism in power system is explained from the energy point of view in this paper. The rotor energy functions of two-machine system and multi-machine system were deduced, and then the low frequency oscillation resonance mechanism of two-machine system was established. The energy characteristics of low frequency oscillation of resonance mechanism in two- machine system were analyzed through the simulations in Matlab. Finally, Southern Power Grid of Hebei province was taken as a multi-machine case. Its electromechanical oscillation modes were obtained using Small Signal Analysis Tool (SSAT), the relative rotor speed and generator power angle were obtained from the Power System Simulator/Engineering (PSS/E) simulation results and the energy of generator rotor was calculated using deduced energy function of multi-machine system. To address this issue, the transfer functions are firstly converted to state equations. Then one of Krylov-based subspace methods, Arnoldi algorithm, is presented to reduce the orders of the state equations in this paper. Finally the lumped element circuit model of transformer windings is established via the resulting order- reduced transfer functions by network synthesis method. The simulation results have proved that the accuracy becomes better and better with increasing the model orders, which Pade-based methods fail. The DC voltage being the given value is the prime of its correct and valid working. The principle and the advantage of Pi<sup>lambda</sup>D<sup>mu</sup> controller are presented in this paper. By using the software MATLAB and EMTDC/PSCAD, the Pi<sup>lambda</sup>D<sup>mu</sup> controller and the UPQC are simulated separately. The Pi<sup>lambda</sup>D<sup>mu</sup> control of the DC voltage is the utilized through the interface of the MATLAB and EMTDC/PSCAD software. Simulation results show the validity and correctness of the Pi<sup>lambda</sup>D<sup>mu</sup> controller and it is advantaged than the traditional PI control. Several simulations are solved in order to assess the behavior of wind turbine models and the reliability of voltage stability techniques. Taking into account multiple factors, including line failure rate, repair time, isolation operation time and switching operation time, the system software can calculate the reliability indices and static security indices of node, feeder and system, and analyze the effect of reliability parameter variation, the influence of component reliability, the sensitivity to component reliability, and the bottleneck weaknesses of distribution networks. Actual application of the systems in calculation and analysis of power flow and reliability of Xi'an and other three regional medium and high voltage distribution networks manifested the bottleneck weaknesses of the networks, and found out various existing problems in reliability management. According to the three levels control structure of SSSC proposed in this paper, when SSSC middle level control operates at constant impedance mode, it has characteristic of controllable impedance as viewed from the top level. In this paper, the output of SSSC is equivalent to controllable impedance and then affine nonlinear equation of the single machine infinite bus (SMIB) power system including a SSSC can be obtained without the compound coordinate transformation approach which is proposed by other documentation and the feedback exact linearization method can be used directly to obtain the SSSC top level nonlinear controller. For avoiding solving the partial differential equation, the direct method is used to realize the exact linearization simply and conveniently. For overcome the shortcoming of low robustness of exact feedback linearization approach due to uncertainty of parameters and model of controlled system, the nonlinear PID control is used to design the SSSC top level controller. This paper aims to present a de-noising scheme which is a combination between chaotic spread spectrum sequence system and the wavelet transform in power line communications (PLC). The proposed communication scheme is based on two key ideas. The first concept consists of the use of the spread-spectrum based on chaotic sequence in order to minimize interference caused by the power line and to secure the transmission information. The second idea consists of the use of discrete wavelet transform to reduce the noise from a chaotic sequence. Signal-to-noise (SNR) and root mean squared error (RMSE) are made. This method demonstrates the use of line stability index in order to determine the voltage stability limits in a power system. Line voltage stability indices presented in the literatures are reviewed and discussed. The shortcomings of these methods are pointed out in the face of special operation mode. A new index is deduced based on the feasible solution region of branch equations. The equations of active power and reactive power via node voltage of the branch are listed to form the equilibrium solution region. The similarities and differences between the flow direction of active power and reactive power are analyzed to determine the incidence of them to equilibrium solution. A detailed model, while very precise, requires considerable time for modeling and calculation. Simplified models, on the other hand, do not always provide sufficiently accurate results. In this paper, simplified and detailed HVDC simulation models are described and compared. The dc system modeled is the plusmn500-kV, 3000-MW 12-pulse bipolar link between Gaopo rectifier station in Guizhou province and Zhaoqing inverter station in Guangdong province, China. NETOMAC, a powerful and flexible software package, is employed for modeling and calculations. Simulation cases based on the China Southern Power Grid data are presented and analyzed.
