Complementary to this literature, this study focuses on the role of schools in the educational processes with attention to the concept of institutional habitus. It examines two schools in Bremen and Istanbul that apply different educational programs to students from diverse ethnic profiles and how they shape educational processes. Bremen's school program recognizes students' cultural identities and aims at academic development, increasing the smooth transition between home and school. The school's program in Istanbul does not admit students' cultural identities, enlarging the distance between home and school exclusively. Unlike the West, the feminist women’s movement in Turkey developed as a necessary component of the nationalization process and then lost its autonomy after national independence, but re-emerged in the 1980s and played an important role in the transformation of gender policies. Particularly with the rise of identity politics in the 1990s, the struggle carried out with the cooperation of women’s organizations that became widespread throughout the country made significant contributions to legal improvements and the democratization of women’s rights. However, along with the institutionalization of the women’s movement, project feminism, and identity politics, claims have been made that women’s organization s in Turkey have lost their independent and autonomous organizational structures per se and have turned into apolitical structures, generating intense criticism and debate in the literature. Although Eskişehir is among the Turkish provinces that can be con sidered to enjoy a relatively good situation in terms of gender equality indicators and data on women’s economic, social, and political statuses, there are relatively limited studies on women’s organizations there. In this context, the main purpose of this study is to examine the organizational structures, aims, fields of activity, and capacity for developing independent discourses and policies of women’s organizations operating in Eskişehir. The paper draws upon the findings of qualitative research entailing the thematic analysis of 38 semi-structured interviews. The participants included in this research were women who were administrators, spokeswomen, or members of any organization claiming involvement with the women’s movement in Eskişehir, or independent prominent women in Eskişehir taking part in the women’s movement. Participants were divided into three analytical groups based on the similarities and differences that emerged according to the themes, and the findings are presented comparatively for these groups in the context of the historical background, associating them with the historical development of the women’s movement and feminism in Turkey. The findings show that women’s organizations with different ideologies and identities are rarely in contact with each other, but they usually tend to maintain relations with organizations that are socially and politically closer to their own positions. Civic engagement projects aim to contribute in developing of the democratic and participatory identity of university students through their volunteering experiences and to actively engage them in transformations for an inclusive society. In this context, the Civic Engagement Projects Coordinatorship supports volunteers to develop intercultural dialogue with diverse social groups through field projects. However, these dialogues may be challenging experiences that trigger a sense of anxiety and require volunteers to utilize adaptive competencies. In order to understand the impacts of intercultural dialogue on such volunteers, in-depth interviews were conducted with 43 university students who volunteered from 2016 to 2020. This study aims to understand the difficulties experienced by the volunteers in the field and discover their coping mechanisms. In this sense, statistical matching methods have been used extensively to produce new data using existing microdata of surveys and registers recently. It has an increasing application area in social studies such as poverty, deprivation, the effects of newborn on the economic situation of the household, indebtedness and demography, due to the gradual improvement of the micro estimation levels. Selection of matching variables among common variables, at this point, is a critical step in terms of the quality of the microdata to be reached. In the study, while selecting the common variables in order to estimate consumption expenditures by using Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (2018) and Household Budget Survey (2018), weights were added to Hellinger Distance and Spearman2 applications as a new approach. In addition, the effects of design variables (stratum and cluster) were also included in the processes, taking into account the complex structure of both samples. Many people worldwide are experiencing various games, simple or complex, buying and being influenced by them and contributing to the development of the industry. Inevitably, the effects of the ever-growing and developing digital gaming sector on public life will also become apparent. Although various studies have been conducted on the social aspects of digital games in sociology, interest in this area is still insufficient in Turkey. This study is the product of an attempt to overcome that indifference in Turkey. Efforts were undertaken to make a contribution for researchers who are interested in this field and want to explore its potential. In most cases, examining digital games with a one-sided and condescending attitude results in an incomplete understanding of their sociological aspects. However, digital games are positioned as an important research object for sociology in this study, and what digital games can reveal about society and social relations is thoroughly discussed. The theoretical and methodological basis of studies on digital games are presented and subjects that have been studied or ignored are analyzed. This is a qualitative study based on the relevant literature, in which English resources are predominant. Antakya’s historic community of Greek Orthodox Christians, who pray in Arabic, is struggling for cultural survival, largely due to a decreasing population as a result of emigration and the current social problems they are experiencing. This study aims to explicate the construction of ethno-religious identity among these Orthodox Christians and the ways in which they narrate and transmit cultural memory through women and youth in everyday life. Through an ethnographic account with participant observation and in-depth interviews, this research focuses on two main questions. First, how do Orthodox Christians in Antakya define and transmit their ethno-religious identities and cultures? Second, what are the forms of narration of cultural memory, particularly for women and youth? Drawing on theories of cultural memory and ethnic boundaries, this research delves into the roles of women in terms of remembering and memory and the transmission of cultural memory to young people by analyzing religious rituals, the culture of naming, inheritance practices, and mixed marriages. To achieve this, 48 in-depth interviews, 4 focus-group interviews and ethnographic study were conducted in the municipalities of Antakya, Altınözü, Arsuz, İskenderun, and Samandağ between April 2016 and December 2021.
