Providing deadlock-free distributed mutual exclusion algorithms is often difficult and it involves passing many messages. The two major types of these algorithms are token-based and permission-based algorithms. In this research, we propose a hybrid distributed mutual exclusion algorithm. By hybrid, we mean that the algorithm uses both token-based and permission-based techniques. In MIPv6, home agent acts as the anchor points of mobile nodes and is responsible for receiving data packets on behalf of them and tunneling the packets to the current points of attachment of the mobile nodes in the Internet. Two problems existing in the current MIPv6 scheme motivate the study of this paper. First, we do not have any proper load sharing mechanism for multiple HA deployment. Second, Home Agent failure detection in MIPv6 is very slow and there is no specified failure recovery mechanism. In this paper we propose a mechanism to address the above mentioned problems of load sharing and failure recovery while trying to reduce the time of home agent failure detection and recovery. We presented simulation results to demonstrate that our solution can fairly distribute loads among multiple home agents","PeriodicalId":238541,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Emerging Technologies","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115273281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Scheduler maps priorities and weights for QoS of the Ethernet into wireless MAC. The Ethernet traffic is divided in to three flows [1-4], each flow has different requirement for loss and delay. By supporting existing Ethernet traffic, scheduler avoids the need to redefine QoS parameters for wireless channel. Real time traffic uses fair-queuing model, non real time data use weighted round robin with re-circulating queue to accommodate wireless link error. Best effort traffic use FIFO mechanism. The algorithm is adjusted for wireless link failures which are location dependent and bursty.","PeriodicalId":238541,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Emerging Technologies","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121266714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose we suggested the parallel shadow image server (PSIS) copying techniques in parallel to the resource manager for having the check points for rescheduling of jobs from the nearest flag, if in case the fault is detected. The job process is to be scheduled from the resource manager node to the worker nodes and then its' submitted back by the worker nodes in serialized form to the parallel shadow image servers from the worker nodes after the pre-specified amount of time, which we call the recent spawn or the flag check point for rescheduling or reprocessing of job. If the fault is arisen then the rescheduling is done from the recent check point and submitted to the worker node from where the job was terminated. This will not only save time but will improve the performance up to major extent","PeriodicalId":238541,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Emerging Technologies","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122906792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mobility in IPv6 networks is supported by Mobile IPv6 (D. Johnson, et al., June 2004). Although MIPv6 and its extensions (G. Dommetry, et al., July 2001), (H. Soliman, et al., July 2001) tackle the problem of mobility in the Internet, they do not support session survivability across interface switch. Session continuity or survivability can be of paramount importance in many real-time applications. Here we present a novel scheme to ensure session continuity across the interface change in mobile multihomed environment. Our scheme is based on site multihoming with IPv6 intermediation (SHIM6). SHIM6 is a proposal presented in IETF by Multio working group. In SHIM6 locator switch is hidden from upper layer protocols (ULPs). Capacity of noncoherent synchronous hybrid direct sequence (DS) frequency hopping (FH) multiple access communication system is examined. System operates through the channel with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and employs differential phase shift keying (DPSK) modulation. Its system capacity is found to be function of DS code length, number of hopping frequencies, signal to noise ratio and acceptable probability of error. No analytical expression for its system capacity is available; and conventional methods are computationally intensive therefore take considerable time to calculate. However, the performance of RoF systems can be severely degraded due to nonlinear effects in the channel. Also, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), as a standard for broadband wireless networks, is being proposed for deployment with RoF systems to facilitate the total performance of a system. In this research, at first, the performance of OFDM-based RoF link with Mach-Zehnder modulator distortion effects has been analyzed at 5.8 GHz. Evaluation of mean-squared error of the proposed OFDM-RoF system was carried out to compare with the conventional single carrier system based RoF link after the modulator distortion case and also for fixed signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 20 dB using undistorted OFDM signal. Later, nominal and offset biasing pre-distortion techniques are applied in proposed system to linearize the OFDM-RoF link. Thus, finally a comparison between the aforementioned pre-distortion techniques applied showed important observation in terms of distortion-free dynamic range and SNR to choose offset predistortion technique for our proposed system","PeriodicalId":238541,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Emerging Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128406968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
