Abstract
System capacity of a spread spectrum multiple access communication system is an important design parameter. Capacity of noncoherent synchronous hybrid direct sequence (DS) frequency hopping (FH) multiple access communication system is examined. System operates through the channel with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and employs differential phase shift keying (DPSK) modulation. Its system capacity is found to be function of DS code length, number of hopping frequencies, signal to noise ratio and acceptable probability of error. No analytical expression for its system capacity is available; and conventional methods are computationally intensive therefore take considerable time to calculate. Using least square approximation technique, an analytical expression is presented which can conveniently calculate system capacity with comparable accuracy
