Beetles inhabit a diverse environment. There are land species as well as those found in freshwater. These are both herbivorous and predatory animals, scavengers and omnivores. Tenebrio molitor is one of the largest beetles. Larvae typically measure about 3 cm or more, whereas adults are generally between 1.25 and 1.8 cm in length. Tenebrio molitor go through four life stages: eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults (Rho & Lee, 2016). This pest is most common in mills, bakeries, warehouses and feed storage rooms. Tenebrio molitor harms not only by eating products but also by contaminating them with droppings (Wiśniowski, 1977). Bearing in mind that the contact with insects in the environment is an inevitable, and the disposal of the species causing economic damages is very difficult. Attempts have been made to get to know the compounds produced by insects. We therefore decided to check the quality of volatile and semi-volatile compounds produced by Tenebrio molitor. The results will also help expand the knowledge about insect pathology.","PeriodicalId":236603,"journal":{"name":"Special Issue Conference Abstract Book CNS 2018","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115372729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent discoveries show that classical epithelial CTCs can undergo epithelial-mesenchymal transition, which changes their phenotype to mesenchymal (Cichon, Nelson, & Radisky, 2015; Thiery et al., 2009). Such an achievement would allow to minimize the costs of energy used during photocatalytic processes. The most commonly used semiconductor for photocatalytic processes is TiO2. However, due to the considerable width of band gap (3.2 eV), it is necessary to modify it in order to achieve satisfactory photocatalytic reaction efficiency (Binas, Venieri, Kotzias, & Kiriakidis, 2017). One of the modification is the deposition on the semiconductor of precious metals, e.g. platinum, and the most commonly used methods for this purpose is photodeposition or chemical reduction. However, the proposed method of reduction with using hydrogen at elevated temperature after optimization is more precise and a cleaner method in the context of samples obtained on its way. Today, the literature presents few reports on the method of producing metallic centers on semiconductors under hydrogen reducing atmosphere, therefore it is necessary to optimize method.","PeriodicalId":236603,"journal":{"name":"Special Issue Conference Abstract Book CNS 2018","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130151016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, lanthanide-organic frameworks (LnOFs) have become current interests due to their unique luminescence properties, namely large ani-Stokes shift, sharp emission band, and long excited-state lifetime (Cui, Zhang, Chen, & Qian, 2016). These attributes are particularly needed for developing visible light-driven photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide (TiO2) (Parnicka et al., 2017). Semiconductor-based heterogeneous photocatalysis is a promising technology for water purification without using consumables and generating harmful by-products.","PeriodicalId":236603,"journal":{"name":"Special Issue Conference Abstract Book CNS 2018","volume":"216 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134257564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this innovative approach, we find a number of advantages, just to name couple like public education and the opportunity for volunteers to gain research experience. At the same time, using new tools and media, the science of species ecology can reach new, broader scale, which could not be achieved by scientists working by themselves (Dickinson et al., 2012). Therefore, citizen science can be treated as the common weal that extends the awareness of the valuable, surrounding nature. We are currently observing the trend of inflorescence of thermophilic species of insects (Durak, Wojton, Dampc, & Mołoń, 2018), like bees – i.e. Xylocopa (Pawlikowski, Olszewski, Sikora, & Przybylińska, 2018), which creates an excellent opportunity to involve the public in monitoring the emergence very characteristic species. The development of technology and universal access to telephones allows also to use the potential of mobile applications, like the \"Bumblebee Detector\" application. The aim of the work is to present citizen science solutions functioning in our country in monitoring endangered bees species.","PeriodicalId":236603,"journal":{"name":"Special Issue Conference Abstract Book CNS 2018","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115001955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For instance, it has been shown that several ions, e.g. Cu2+ and Zn2+, are involved in the amyloid-β peptide aggregation process, which presumably plays the main role in Alzheimer’s disease (Nair, Perry, Smith, & Reddy, 2010).
