A rectifier is used to convert a GSM alternating current (AC) signal input into a direct current (DC) signal output using pump-charge and multiplying it to another voltage level using DC–DC converter. A pump-charge is built by HSMS–2822 Schottky diodes which operate at the GSM frequency of 1800 MHz-1900 MHz and applie on five stages of voltage multiplier. The characterization result shows that the pump-charge circuit could produce the DC voltage output up to 1.94 V with the AC signal input power of 3 dBm. While the DC–DC converter implemented using LTC3526 could convert up to 2.9 V DC voltage output from 1 dBm AC signal input power at the antenna receiver. By multiplying the DC voltage output, the rectifier is applicable for receiver of wireless power transfer in powering some small electronic appliances.","PeriodicalId":236517,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114089061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some of the hearing-impaired people use sign language to communicate with other similarly-affected individuals as well as with those with normal hearing ability. Sign language comprises a range of hand shapes, facial expressions, body movements, and lip patterns. Currently, one of the most urgent requirements of the hearing-impaired, especially the young among them is their education needs. They need to learn how to communicate and convey information as well as effectively share learning materials between them. Towards this end, the potential solution lies in the use of today's advanced modern global technology innovations, such as cloud based on e-learning systems. This system can be made accessible to instructors and students and prove to be a practical and effective pedagogical tool for the hearing-impaired and their instructors. This study aims to investigate the key factors that can positively impact teachers' motivation to adopt cloud based on e-learning systems for deaf students. A survey research design method was chosen to verify the factors and construct the relationship between them. The main factors that may affect teachers' motivation to adopt and use cloud based on the e-learning system and involve the following key factors: hardware availability, software modularity, cost, security and privacy, training, knowledge sharing, top management support, sign language, video and animation, online dictionary, teacher motivation, and system adoption. To verify the reliability of the questionnaire, a pilot study was done among 30 participants. The questionnaire was distributed among teachers of deaf students in Baghdad deaf institutes to examine the hypothesis on each factor. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient reliability and exploratory factor analysis EFA test in SPSS 22 software package was employed to verify the reliability of the questionnaire. The results showed that the value of Cronbach's Alpha coefficient is 0.7 or more and KMO are above the threshold values in the test, which are standard.","PeriodicalId":236517,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127131737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the factors that determines the reliability level of the transformer is the life of the transformer. If the transformer is used longer, the level reliability of its transformer will be decrease. The purpose of this research was to predict the life of a transformer based on the health index transformer calculation, then the value of health index transformer will be modeled by using artificial neural network. The results of this research were the values used as the parameters in transformer testing, which were insulating oil, furan, and dissolved gas. One of the advantages of artificial neural network methods in predicting the life of the transformer is a calculation error that can be minimized. From the result of this research, the transformer's life prediction system can be used directly to determine the lives of other transformers, both new and operating ones, with a low percentage of errors. Furthermore, this method can be used as an option in maintaining power transformers.","PeriodicalId":236517,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127860257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Implementation of radar signal processing at the software level can provide high scalability, but existing research still has poor performance when implemented on the CPU. Meanwhile, the development of graphics processing unit (GPU) technology provides an opportunity to perform processing of radar signals with high performance as well as scaling. This paper focus on processing radar signals using GPUs with case studies of dual polarization FMCW (frequency-modulated continuous wave) weather radar signal processing. In this research has been done the implementation of weather radar signal processing algorithm on 2 platforms, which are serialized using CPU and in parallel using GPU. Before we find decentralized controller, we first find the centralized controller. Centralized controller will be computed using Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) approach and decentralized controller will be computed using Bilinear Matrix Inequality (BMI). The BMI will be solved using double LMI via homotopy method which can then be solved efficiently. Numerical example of centralized and decentralized controller of storey building system will be presented. The simulation results on centralized controller show that systems with centralized $H_{infty}$ controls have better performance than systems without control, and simulation results on decentralized controller show that $Vert T_{zw}(s)Vert_{infty} < gamma$.","PeriodicalId":236517,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116382915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a control strategy for regenerative braking with variable duty cycle, by setting the duty cycle the output voltage of the converter can be increase more than the battery voltage under different speed of the motor. This concept can save more electric energy. To verify the analysis, experimental works were done. This is critical in order to secure the product from information security threats such as malware attack, account hijacking, data leakage and at the same time, in line with government policy. It is important to address the SR as early as before the product acquisition to avoid any security incidents happen that will affect the government IT ecosystem. Hence, to help government officer from IT and procurement department in preparing security specification for acquisition or procurement exercise, we introduce OTPAF model, a novel approach for defining SR by connecting security components which are security objective (O), threat (T), policy (P), assumption (A) and functionality (F) in deriving a relational statement. First we acquire the government information security objectives and policies. Then cloud top threats and controls are referred to map altogether. Following that, we elicit the security functionality using Common Criteria (CC) approach and combines the components to become SR. Result presents how the conceptual model OTPAF and the values of the security components deriving to a relational statement that becoming SR.","PeriodicalId":236517,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121930255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The unit commitment problem is solved using Mixed Integer Quadratic Programming (MIQP). High PV penetration lowered net-load profile during the daytime. More PV penetration on the grid, the smaller the net-load profile occurs. When PV penetration is too large, the algorithm fail to find a unit commitment solution due to the net-load ramping at certain hours is higher than the maximum ramping capability of the generator unit. The infeasible solution of unit commitment problem occurred at PV penetration 69% due to the lack of ramp-up of generators.","PeriodicalId":236517,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132201195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One suitable solution to solve this insufficient power is to exploit the available renewable energy potentials by building power plant with hybrid systems. The hybrid system combines renewable with non-renewable energy sources to produce electricity that will be delivered to the load center. In this paper, an off-grid hybrid power plant will be designed at a rural area where the electrification ratio is low. This area is called Leiting Village, located in Aru Islands District, Maluku Province. This area owns annual solar irradiation and wind speed of 5.27 kWh/m2/day and 4.88 m/s, respectively. These renewable energy resources will be utilized to determine the most economical hybrid system for two types of loads, namely communal load of 20 kWh with a peak load of 2.15 kWp and administrative office load of 11 kWh with a peak load of 1 kWp. The designed system uses the optimization method embedded in HOMER Pro and PVsyst application softwares.
