However, when scanning faded images, there is sometimes a need to restore the original image. Most correction methods for faded images use illuminant estimation algorithms, such as the gray world assumption and white patch Retinex methods, as the phenomenon of color fading is regarded as an illuminant effect. However, this induces inaccurate faded color correction, as images fade at different rates according to the ink property, temperature, humidity, and illuminant. Therefore, this paper presents a color correction method for faded images using classification in LCybCrg color space. The input faded image is first separated according to the chromaticity based on LCybCrg opponent color space. The faded color correction is then performed based on the gray world assumption in RGB color space. Thereafter, weights calculated from CybCrg values are applied to reduce contour artifacts. The permutation is defined by a secret key which is required at the decoder for decompression providing security. Such services are particularly compelling when related content is simultaneously rendered on a personal terminal and on a TV set. As media components are transported separately over different networks, and delivered to different devices, there is a need for a technique to assure their accurate temporal alignment. This paper describes a solution for frame accurate synchronization of hybrid media components used to compose personalized second screen TV services. The approach enables content components from distributed sources to be synchronously rendered on multiple terminals, even after transport over broadcast and broadband networks using different protocols and timing models. This coupled with the increasing interest in personal healthcare and well-being issues has resulted in new solutions being arrived at. Existing consumer electronics and home automation solutions need to evolve to capture these developing customer needs. In the scope of this paper a scalable solution that provides a multisensory wake up experience for users inside the home is presented. The solution consists of both a software middleware and user interface application with the goal of scheduling and customizing wake up alarms that fit to the consumer preferences in sound, temperature and lighting stimuli. One of the goals is to provide an easy-to-use and intuitive consumer oriented platform that can be applied within an ecosystem of devices present in the average household. We propose a new data format and a partial delivery method with multiple bitrates and resolutions. This paper describes a field trial conducted to evaluate the system on an actual network with the target being the quality of experience. Music fans, the subjects, felt as if they were in the concert venue and enjoyed the experience provided by the system. Among these tasks, the camera pose tracking occupies the largest proportion of total processing time. Thus, frame rate can be reduced in small mobile devices when the tracking processing time exceeds the image acquisition time interval needed for desired frame rate. Moreover, the temporal jitter can be introduced due to the irregular tracking processing time. In this paper, we present a new framework for AR that can achieve the high frame rate and reduce the temporal jitter. In the proposed method, the three main tasks of AR are performed in parallel. This enables the image acquisition and rendering thread to work independently with the tracking thread so to prevent frame loss and temporal jitter. The tracking thread calculates the camera pose of the coarsely selected frames. For the unselected frames, the parabolic motion model is applied. Our approach first develops a software code executed by the existed programmable shader core to implement the setup function of rasterization module. Next, a special scan-conversion acceleration unit is developed to cooperate with the shader core to interpolate the required data attributes together. We implement the scan-conversion function in fixed-point domain such that it only costs 8.5k gates, about 1.7% of the entire graphics processor unit (GPU) gate count, but can help reducing more than 30% cycles compared with the pure software implementation. Since our design realizes the rasterization in the shader core, it can avoid the cycles spent on transferring the interpolated data between different storage units in some GPU designs which adopt hardware rasterization designs.
