Modular product structures based on modular product architectures are to be developed in order to make these advantages available to companies within product family creation. This contribution provides methodical support in conceptualization of the initial product family by adapting methodical steps and graphical product development models. Because each individual aircraft is slightly modified during its life span. detailed infor-mation to be used during the design of the cabin are rarely available. There-fore. many conflicts between the cabin and the aircraft's body arise during the actual conversion. While modern technologies. like 3D-scanners. are becoming more common. their comfortable use within the CAD-Workflow is often not possible or require extensive processing and additional work. In a first analysis step. process models of selected literature are analyzed regarding classification and structuring of requirements as well as their derivation into evaluation criteria. In a subsequent synthesis step. the classification system is developed with a consistent consideration of the multi-criteria evaluation process. This approach therefore contributes to raise the awareness of an appropriate handling of requirements and to minimize forgotten requirements as well as evaluation criteria. In this course. a competitive advantage should be achieved through the automated adaptation of product characteristics. In order to achieve this. development engineers focus primarily on modifying existing designs and refrain from re-running the entire product development process [PDP]. However. this approach is primarily limited to the CAD environment. Previous phases of the PDP are not integrated. leading to a lack of traceability and continuity. Media breaks and API conflicts arise which increase costs. The aim is to use this knowledge base to determine during the product development process whether the desired component can be manufactured with the available equipment, even if the design engineer does not have the necessary expert knowledge. In addition to the model structure, the implementation of the manufacturing restrictions and the dependencies between the different production stages are shown. Within scenario-technique. influence analysis has a broad impact on both efforts to build scenarios and quality of such scenarios. To reduce the complexity of scenario-building. a set of key influence factors is selected. In this paper. a novel approach based on a modified page-rank algorithm for the selection of key influence factors is presented. By the holistic approach. direct and indirect influences on factors are considered. in relation to their adjacent nodes on the representing graph. Therefore. in this paper. a method is described. that supports the developer in the early stage of product engineering [1]. in the activities of detecting ideas by searching for alternative solutions. The method considers the system of objectives that has to be defined by the developer. Based on this. hybrid electric drivetrains topologies are synthesized automatically and investigated regarding their energy efficiency and performance. In early planning and design phases. these objectives can be very vague due to uncertainties with regard to knowledge and information about potential solutions as well as the design process. Moreover. time and cost requirments interact with product related requirements. Still. from the beginning of any design activity objectives must be translated into requirements to serve as a common information basis for the design process and to allow for the verification of the design solution. This paper presents a case study to exemplify typical problems in the development process caused by ill-defined requirements.
