While sharing the same function, the used electric motors often differ in customer related geometries and interfaces. The suppliers have to cope with this huge external variance using an appropriate variant management. With this paper, the support of the variant management of electric drives by knowledge-based systems is proposed. Therefore, a combination of two systems containing the knowledge of the configuration and design of motors are used. The concept is applied and evaluated on the example of the shaft rotor lamination connection. As a result, the amount of internal variants can be reduced and controlled as well as the designer can be supported during the development process.","PeriodicalId":235355,"journal":{"name":"DFX 2019: Proceedings of the 30th Symposium Design for X, 18-19 September 2019, Jesteburg, Germany","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133750615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Derived from basic agile values and principles. a model has been generated to integrate agile development requirements into product modularization. Matching the generated characteristics with published agile constraints of physicality and scale allowed a first indirect validation of the model. This analysis showed an overall constraints limiting effect and therefore proved the connection between product architecture and agile product development. Additionally. the model was conceptually transferred into an adapted modularization method to allow for both technical and organizational drivers in product architecture.","PeriodicalId":235355,"journal":{"name":"DFX 2019: Proceedings of the 30th Symposium Design for X, 18-19 September 2019, Jesteburg, Germany","volume":"398 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117351499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this article. the necessity of providing the product developer with a design method for the design of endless fibre-reinforced plastic [FRP] components to fulfil fatigue requirements is highlighted. Existing damage models and test methods could be used and extended within such approaches. A suitable method should take into account particularly the variety of requirements for FRP components and consider other influences. e.g. from multi-layer composite design or load introduction. preferably supported by CAE tools. The simple applicability of an effective approach should be demonstrated both on test specimens and on demonstrator components.","PeriodicalId":235355,"journal":{"name":"DFX 2019: Proceedings of the 30th Symposium Design for X, 18-19 September 2019, Jesteburg, Germany","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122699506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A systematic approach to manage those changes from the very beginning should be an integral part of each development project. Although this is accepted in both science and industry, there is no adequate approach to tackle the issue, especially in the context of interdisciplinary systems. In this paper, a secondary analysis is done to identify all information that is necessary to manage those changes efficiently. The demanded information is pictured in a reference model and then mapped with the capabilities of existing approaches. Based on this, research gaps are identified and used to guide future research efforts.","PeriodicalId":235355,"journal":{"name":"DFX 2019: Proceedings of the 30th Symposium Design for X, 18-19 September 2019, Jesteburg, Germany","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121568555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These additional functions lead to a wide variety of possible solutions for the sensor integration that must be reduced to the most promising ones. Therefore. models for the analysis of technical systems are outlined as a basis for a new model to analyze the sensor retrofit into existing system especially during early stages of the sensor integration. The new model is used exemplarily on a disk brake for the development of concepts for the measurement of the applied axial brake force. The results of the analysis lead to a qualitative evaluation of possible sensor locations that can be used to rank and evaluate the possible solutions before the development of concepts starts.","PeriodicalId":235355,"journal":{"name":"DFX 2019: Proceedings of the 30th Symposium Design for X, 18-19 September 2019, Jesteburg, Germany","volume":"176 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122324979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For its realisation a resilience design methodology is being developed. As part of the methodology a procedure for deducing resilient coping strategies from functional resilience characteristics and system requirements is shown. Furthermore the synthesis of suitable functional structures based on the coping strategy is introduced. The functional structure can be described via an extended representation form for functional structures that allows to depict the superior coping strategy as well as a system adaptivity which is required for resilient properties.","PeriodicalId":235355,"journal":{"name":"DFX 2019: Proceedings of the 30th Symposium Design for X, 18-19 September 2019, Jesteburg, Germany","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134535949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
