For the first time, the required distribution laws of the reactance are found explicitly. The obtained formulas for the reflection coefficient and for the scattering diagram are confirmed by the results rigorously. Solutions to the analysis problems were obtained using the Ansoft HFSS package, which confirmed the validity of the obtained theoretical relations. The results of numerical studies are presented.","PeriodicalId":235289,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115151962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The software-defined network (SDN) model provides a way to programmatically configure switches during operation and manage network resources more efficiently. Thanks to the properties of the software-defined networks where the hardware part is separated from the software, we can access advanced data stream control in multipath networks. A common method on evaluating the bandwidth consumed by a given data flow in the SDN environment is by collecting the statistics from the OpenFlow enabled switches. This method, however, seems to be insufficient to be used with the multimedia data sessions in the real-time, since the time required to get reliable value about the new data flow is approximately 1 second or more. In this article, we took a look at measuring the data flows directly by mirroring the data flow traffic to modified network controller untill we have the precise value of bandwidth used by the flow. This approach resulted in fastest and more accurate flow bandwidth evaluations compared to those collected via OpenFlow.","PeriodicalId":235289,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115503479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adjacent images with a slow or fast changeable scene in a video have high correlation which shows consistency in the video sequence therefore it can be the proof of normal reproduction of video service. Due to QoS (Quality of service) problems, especially over lossy network, appearance of different visual degradations in frames (images) during delivery of video service to end users can happen very often. In that case, adjacent images in the video sequence have low correlation which can be used as an indicator the problem occurred in some part of the network. In addition, the paper analyses correlation correspondent to polygons i.e. parts of adjacent images in the video sequence in order to discover a degree of influence visual degradations to user’s QoE (Quality of Experience). In order to check this aim, tested degraded and non-degraded video sequence was captured using IPTV system of one significant market power provider and processed in offline mod with Python script created especially for this purpose.","PeriodicalId":235289,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121833929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impact of the students receiving education online for the entire semester on their final grade was analysed and the results are shown in the paper. These results are obtained by analysing the academic course Mathematical Analysis 2, held online at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia, in the summer semester of 2020. Furthermore, the number of views of the lectures in relation to the time left until the final exam was checked in order to investigate the students’ studying habits. Unsurprisingly, the most noticeable effect here is the last minute cramming. Nevertheless, the overall results show the pros and cons of online education, as well as the huge potential that online education has, even when performed at the current state.","PeriodicalId":235289,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115682913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, automated conversion is a challenging area that links machine and deep learning methods with art. Although many experts claim that grayscale images contain a special artistic value, lack of color can be considered as a loss of information. This paper presents an overview of methods and techniques that have been developed for grayscale image colorization. The paper provides a classification of relevant methods, explains the principles on which they are based and emphasizes their advantages and disadvantages. Special focus is put on methods that involve deep learning algorithms. The results show that deep learning colorization methods provide automated conversion and outperform other methods both in terms of quality and speed.","PeriodicalId":235289,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127259111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several hydrodynamic models, together with additional boundary conditions, have been proposed to deal with the collective motion of the free electron gas in metals. In this work, four hydrodynamic models, namely the hard-wall hydrodynamic model, the curl-free hydrodynamic model, the shear forces hydrodynamic model, and the quantum hydrodynamic model are employed. The study is performed for a deep-nanometer metal core–dielectric shell sphere, excited by a plane wave. It is demonstrated that the far field characteristics of the core–shell nanosphere are largely affected by the choice of a specific hydrodynamic model.","PeriodicalId":235289,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125521265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They can collect relevant contextual information directly from the RGB images via stacks of convolutional and subsampling layers. In this paper, semantic segmentation is solved using a novel cascade of CNNs. The proposed method employs skipping connections for combining the input images with intermediary results, thus enabling successive corrections of the label maps. The cascade can easily integrate additional corrective algorithms, as exemplified for a graph-cut algorithm with confidence-dependent weight cues. The design allows a separate training of each component network, with reduced computational resources. The performance of the proposed approach is investigated for RGB images acquired by a wearable assistive device, in the framework of an application assisting the navigation of visually impaired persons. The experimental results indicate that the component CNNs can gradually improve the accuracy of the semantic segmentation.","PeriodicalId":235289,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121421964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
