This paper addresses this challenge by utilizing the design thinking as a framework. However, although design thinking is a well-proven customer-centric tool, implementation for a large platform is difficult. To solve this, a workflow incorporated stakeholder mapping, customer journey mapping, and value proposition canvas is proposed ensuring a systematic empathy, insights extraction, and ideation for technical features.As a study case, the proposed method is experimented during the development of the Thailand Health Dataspace (THDS), a digital healthcare platform enabling an integration of third-party stakeholders to public health dataspace. 529 participants from different stakeholder groups were involved. The proposed method has successfully provided a set of technical features while captured the values which each stakeholder is expecting from THDS.","PeriodicalId":234559,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Technology & Engineering Management Conference - Asia Pacific (TEMSCON-ASPAC)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114844422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The huge profit gap between projects prompted Malaysia Innovation Foundation to seek for root causes and solutions to improve the performance of all social innovators/project managers who received the fund. This study examined the differences in entrepreneurial leadership characteristics of SI project managers between low and high-performing groups that affect their project performances. Both groups were assessed using the same entrepreneurial leadership attribute measures and a t-test analysis was performed. Being the eligible grant recipients, the respondents have some degree of entrepreneurial mindset. However, this study found other entrepreneurial leadership characteristics that potentially make a difference in driving a high-performance project. Evidently, SI project managers from high-performance group were more visionary, innovative, proactive, and better at interpretating opportunities compared to those from the low-performance group.","PeriodicalId":234559,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Technology & Engineering Management Conference - Asia Pacific (TEMSCON-ASPAC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128444925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, considering the efficiency and value creation of the entire supply chain, it is important to promote a smart factory in not only large companies but also SMEs. This study examines the success factors and mechanisms based on the case studies of Japanese SMEs that have successfully implemented smart factories. Then, its characteristics are compared with those of large companies. Specifically, in SMEs, where the top management and the factory floor are in close proximity, if the purposes and vision of DT are clear and the top management understands its possibilities and limitations, successful experiences can spread throughout the company through trial and error using an in-house system optimized for the factory floor. This study reveals that the success mechanism makes it easier for SMEs to promote DX than for large companies under certain conditions, which is a new finding and a theoretical contribution. The practical contribution of this study is that it guides SMEs to promote DT in factories in SMEs based on this mechanism.","PeriodicalId":234559,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Technology & Engineering Management Conference - Asia Pacific (TEMSCON-ASPAC)","volume":"42 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133107182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
