Its expression becomes important in breast cancer. We aimed to compare GATA-3 immunoreactivity and pathological prognostic factors in patients with invasive ductal carcinoma. \u0000Material and Methods Our study was conducted retrospectively with 300 breast invasive ductal carcinoma patients who were operated on in our hospital between May 2013 and June 2014. Patient reports, slides and blocks in the pathology archive were scanned. GATA-3 immunohistochemical (IHC) staining was evaluated according to the nuclear staining, intensity and percentage. The relationship between clinicopathological prognostic parameters and GATA-3 IHC staining results was investigated. \u0000Results A positive staining was observed in 286 (95.3%) cases. According to the GATA-3 staining intensity and percentage, 210 (70%) cases stained strongly and 246 (82%) stained +4, respectively. There was a significant relationship between GATA-3 immunoreactivity with ER, PR, Cerb-B2, Ki-67, mitotic degree, mitotic count and histological grade. \u0000Conclusions There was a correlation between the high expression of GATA-3 and good prognostic markers. Hormone receptors can be evaluated with Cerb-B2 and Ki-67 and used as prognosis determinants in breast cancers. They can be used to identify both primary and secondary breast tumors.

There are many studies evaluating the association of JAK2 mutation and risk of thrombosis in MPN with inconclusive results. We also investigated the relation between JAK2 mutation in all Ph negative MPN and thrombosis. \u0000Material and Methods Thrombotic events and demographic features of 177 patients with Ph negative MPN were evaluated retrospectively. \u0000Results JAK2 V617 F mutation was detected in 57% of patients with essential thrombocythemia (ET), %90.3 of pateints with polycythemia vera (PV), 100% of pateints with primary myelofibrosis (PMF). Thrombotic complications occured more frequently with JAK2 mutation in all MPN patients than without (p=0.014). In JAK 2 mutation positive groups, the median age, thrombosis risk scores and leucocyte values are higher, splenomegaly and arterial and/or venous thrombosis are detected more frequently (p

Also, COVID-19 has been named a pandemic since the beginning of 2020. During this period, physicians were exposed to many COVID-19 cases, and it was challenged to consider different diagnoses in patients who applied to the emergency room with lung complaints and bilateral pneumonia. Here we reported a 30-year-old man diagnosed with HIV- associated opportunistic CMV pneumonia mimicking COVID-19. The diagnosis of CMV pneumonia was obtained through consistent clinical, radiological, microbiological and cytologic examinations. The patient made a complete clinical recovery after being initialized on anti-CMV treatment.
