These sensor nodes form a line network which makes the performance of many traditional routing protocols terrible. Line routing protocol (LRP), which is simple and efficient, is proposed for such line networks. LRP is implemented in TinyOS and simulations are performed in TOSSIM. Simulation results show that LRP always chooses the shortest-hop routing path and keeps high packet delivery ratio over a long routing path. On the other hand, the routing overhead of LRP is very low.","PeriodicalId":231601,"journal":{"name":"2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"666 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123050847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research attempts to resolve the problem in clutter jamming by simulation experiment. The automatic clutter-cancellation model is established according to theories and experiments are simulated on computer. The result suggests that the variation of auto-cancellation signal is not correlative with time and precision of the cancellation but amplitude and phase of the clutter signal. The result has instructive significance for the design of digital auto-cancellation circuit in life-detection radar.","PeriodicalId":231601,"journal":{"name":"2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123128310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The imaging process of EIT is known as inverse problem, and the back projection algorithm is widely used to solve this problem in practice. However, the image can only be reconstructed with low resolution and interfered by artifacts using this algorithm. This paper proposes a new filter back projection algorithm for improving the quality of the image. Being different with other existing algorithms, this algorithm uses RL (Ramachandran and Lakshminarayanan) filter function to get ride of image artifacts and interference. Because the RL filtering function will take obvious oscillations while image reconstructing, the means method is utilized to modify the filter function in this paper. The results of numerous simulation experiments show the new algorithm can obtain much better resolution and less artifacts compared with existing back projection algorithms and filter algorithms using RL filter function.","PeriodicalId":231601,"journal":{"name":"2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124427747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Blood is considered as non-Newtonian fluid and the model concerns the varying viscosity and electrical conductivity. The numerical solution is obtained by solving the governing equations using a finite volume method on structured grid. The pressure-velocity coupling is solved using the SIMPLEC technique. Results indicate that the magnetic field modifies the flow and temperature fields considerably. The symmetry of the flow downstream of the stenosis is broken and the vortex close to the magnetic field source is enlarged by two times. The temperature downstream of the stenosis is cooler in the most region of application of the magnetic field than the corresponding temperature in the pure hydrodynamic case, and the maximum decrement is 0.36K. In contrast, the temperature in the area close to the opposite wall and downstream of the stenosis is increased, and the maximum increment is 0.9K.","PeriodicalId":231601,"journal":{"name":"2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"2675 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124278266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By simulations of the gasoline market at different levels of crude oil price, a quadratic equation which can describe the survival rate of consumers is obtained. In order to quantitatively analyze curves of multifractal spectrum derived from 12-lead ECG signals, we compute both the Δᾱ(the mean of Δαs for 12-lead ECG) and the dispersing degree δ<inf>Δα</inf>(defined as standard deviation of Δαs for 12-lead ECG signals) as characteristic parameters. With comparison of these characteristic parameters between the people with good health and heart disease, we find that the Δᾱs are close to each other, but the δ<inf>Δα</inf>s are different. We also compare these characteristic parameters between the people with good health and brain disease, and find a dissimilar result, i.e. the Δᾱs are different from each other while the δ<inf>Δα</inf>s are close. It implies that the characteristic parameters of multifractal spectrum are controlled by both the body's neurosystem and self-syntonic property of cardiac structures. Furthermore, the Δᾱ is related with neuroautonomic control on the ECG, and the δ<inf>Δα</inf> is related with the spatial anisotropic propagation of the ECG signal in the myocardium.","PeriodicalId":231601,"journal":{"name":"2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"10 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120997929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 102 PE suspicious patient records with demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms, blood gas, D-dimer, and wells score. A logistic regression (LR) model was employed to extracted important predictive features, which used as inputs to the BNN model. The BNN was trained and tested using leave-one-out method and then the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves was calculated to measure the performance. Results: The variables extracted from logistic regression enabled the BNN model achieved an Az =0.889±0.042 compare to the non-selected BNN model with Az=0.838±0.052. Conclusion: The results indicate that the logistic regression method and the backpropagation neural network, particularly when used in combination, can produce better predictive models than BNN alone. The features such as D-dimer, PO2, and history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or PE are beneficial for the differential diagnosis of PE. The Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system can help physicians to detect or exclude PE in the clinical practice, and it is a new promising method of diagnosing pulmonary embolism.","PeriodicalId":231601,"journal":{"name":"2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121055462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
