Si is not considered essential nutrient for plant growth and development, however, increasing evidences in the literature shows that this metalloid is beneficial to plants, especially under different stress conditions. However, silicon is now comprises important place in the group of beneficial plant nutrient and comes with cobalt, sodium and vanadium, many growers already include it in their crop fertility programs.Silicon plays a crucial role in reinforcing the plant’s cell wall and it is speculated that it enable the plants to increased resistance against pests and diseases, increased tolerance to drought and heavy metals, as well as increasing both crop quality and yields..The amount of Si present in soils varies with the type of soils, climatic conditions, nature of rocks and minerals forming soils etc. The prevailing form in soil solutions is mono silicic acid Si(OH)4, which is in equilibrium with quartz (SiO2) and the concentrations in the soil solution are usually ranging from 14 to 20 mg l-1. The crops like rice and sugarcane are known as silicon accumulator and having special significance as well as crops benefited from silicon nutrition.","PeriodicalId":23030,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation Journal","volume":"311 6","pages":"223-229"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72564188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is the chief source of antioxidants including vitamin C, flavonoids and betacyanins. The most common variety (Hylocereus undatus) of fruit was processed to develop and standardize a healthy refreshing drink for immune boosting. Pulp and peel of the fruit were utilized and mixed with lemon juice in different proportions until desirable sensory scores were obtained. Nine-point Hedonic Rating Scale was used for assessment of sensory characteristics. Three variations T1, T2 and T3 were developed and compared based on sensory attributes to evaluate consumer acceptability. Nutrient composition and cost calculation were also done together with organoleptic evaluation of products. Sample T1 made with both pulp and peel mixed together with lemon juice was “liked very much” and secured highest score (8.1). Moreover, the uppermost score (8.6) found in T1 for colour categorized as “liked extremely”. On the other hand, the lowest score (6.5) was found for texture of T2. Highly significant differences were found between sensory attributes of treatments. The nutritive values found for energy was 87 kcal, carbohydrate 20 g, protein 0.76 g, fat 0.36 g, fibre 1.56 g and vitamin C 44 mg per 100 g having cost ₹26.00 for the same quantity. The drink thus developed was found to be most acceptable having reasonable cost and numerous nutritional benefits.","PeriodicalId":23030,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation Journal","volume":"13 1","pages":"80-83"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86075448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three concentration of imidacloprid (0.134 μl, 0.195 μl and 0.285 μl) have been used during the experiment for evaluation of enzymatic activity. The increase in superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity suggests that SOD has the capacity to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) under the stress at lower concentration of imidacloprid and it also indicated that the activity of the superoxide dismutase had shown different responses to toxicity of various concentrations of imidacloprid for different exposure periods in earthworm Eisenia fetida. Imidacloprid at concentrations of 0.195 μl and 0.285μl had shown the SOD activities of 6.773 and 7.263 U/mg protein respectively at 48 hr of exposure, while a concentration of 0.285μl has showed an enzyme activity of 6.835 U/mg protein at 24 hr of exposure. The study revealed that the activity of antioxidant enzyme of earthworms is altered due to stress produced by neonicotinoid insecticide. The statistical data of pesticide is highly significant with respect to treatment and time of exposure.","PeriodicalId":23030,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":"113-115"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84297697","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The meat rolls were prepared with incorporation of 5% Ginger Extract (GE1) and 0.25% Papain Powder (PP1) and Combination of Ginger extract and Papin Powder in ration of 1:3 and compared with control (C) meat rolls. The products were assessed for their physico-chemical, sensory and microbiological quality at 0, 4, 8, 12, and 16 days. However, the sensory scores and moisture content decreased and microbial load, TBA value and free fatty acids (FFA) increased as the days of storage increased for control as well as treated products. The rate of decline in sensory score and moisture content and rate of increase in microbial load, TBA vale and FFA during storage were higher in control samples as compared to treated meat rolls. It was concluded that Ginger Extract (5%) and Papain Powder (0.25%) incorporation also showed their antioxidant and antimicrobial effects, by keeping the treated products organoleptically acceptable and microbiologically safe up to16 days of refrigeration storage.","PeriodicalId":23030,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation Journal","volume":"34 1","pages":"206-209"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72948562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides, large quantity of seed material poses a big challenge for transportation and handling. This problem can be effectively addressed through adoption of sustainable sugarcane initiative through planting of bud chips, which can save the cost and inconveniences associated with conventional planting methods. Several authors have reported advantages of planting single bud chips over conventional methods with respect to germination, crop establishment, growth and development of sugarcane crop. Sustainable sugarcane initiative technology favourably influenced various yield attributing factors such as plant stand, millable cane per clump and weight of single cane thereby resulting in higher yield. Some authors have also recorded higher brix value and higher juice weight at harvesting stage with planting of single chip bud seedlings of sugarcane. Compared with conventional method, economics of cultivation goes in favour of bud chip method of planting. Based on research findings by various workers, it can be said that planting of sugarcane by bud chip method is superior to planting by conventional methods.","PeriodicalId":23030,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation Journal","volume":"52 1","pages":"150-153"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73324299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
