We begin by showing that the timing misalignment significantly affects the performance of digital SI cancellation (SIC) or signal detection when conventional synchronization is used. The conventional synchronization method introduces inter-symbol interference between SI signals, thus reducing the performance of the digital SIC. In order to guarantee the performance of digital SIC and signal detection against the timing misalignment, we propose a two-step synchronization method. Lastly, using numerical results, we compare the performance of digital SIC and signal detection according to the addressed synchronization methods and show that the superiority of the proposed methods under asynchronous environments.","PeriodicalId":229557,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Asia (ICCE-Asia)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123288941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The architecture of mutual capacitive finger-print sensor is obtained by investigating the capacitance change by the finger-print based on the Q3D Extractor model. An electrostatic simulation shows that the 200aF difference caused by the valley and the ridge in the sensor. In order to sense the atto farad capacitance in finger-print sensor, a continuous-type fully differential architecture with a differential transmitted signals is proposed to amplify a capacitance difference only with a reduced the parasitic effect caused by a large number of electrodes. The indexing schemes for efficiently searching high-dimensional feature vectors are needed. In this paper, we propose a dynamic high dimensional indexing scheme for efficient contents based image retrieval. The proposed index scheme reduces the size of internal node information by eliminating internal node pointer. Also, it splits the internal node equally by using the overlapping split to maintain a height balanced tree. The performance evaluation results show that the proposed indexing scheme improves the response time compared with the existing schemes.","PeriodicalId":229557,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Asia (ICCE-Asia)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121321726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To resolve the permutation ambiguities between the sources of neighbor frequency bins, a probabilistic approach based on maximizing a posteriori (MAP) is proposed. The prior distribution of the sources is assumed to follow a dependent multivariate super-Gaussian which considers statistical dependence between neighbor frequency bins. It is difficult to obtain the posterior probabilities of all possible permutations which contain a mathematically intractable integration, thus the integrand is approximated as an integrable form, a summation of Dirac delta functions. Given approximated posterior probabilities, the permutation which has the highest posterior probability is selected. It is experimentally shown that the proposed algorithm is better than conventional algorithms in some specific cases in terms of alignment accuracy.","PeriodicalId":229557,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Asia (ICCE-Asia)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133657033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The medical examinations considered in this paper are blood sugar level, low and high blood pressures, and cholesterol level. This paper uses a specific type of artificial neural networks, radial-basis function network (RBFN), to approximate mapping from the past medical measurements to that of the upcoming year, in order to help the subjects be aware of the signs of unusual health states without consulting with doctors. Experimental results show that the RBFN-based estimation is superior to the conventional linear regression in terms of prediction accuracy of the future examination measurements. The proposed method is expected to be implemented in a handy consumer electronic devices such as Smartphones without adding extra hardware parts provided that the history of the medical examination measurements are available.","PeriodicalId":229557,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Asia (ICCE-Asia)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115946698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most of them rely on customized hardware or presume some dedicated infrastructure. This paper focuses on solution which combines Wi-Fi positioning system along with Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) and differentiation between accessible and inaccessible areas in the venue. Wi-Fi positioning system is based on wave propagation modelling and requires access points locations to be known.
