A pre-test and post-test longitudinal research format was applied because the suggested parameters of cardiorespiratory endurance were appropriately calculated by such research designs. A sample of (n=40) healthy volunteers equally distributed into two different groups namely, an experimental group (EG) and a control group (CG). The circuit resistant training (CRT) 3 times per week with specified intensity, repetition, set and rest period continued for 06 weeks among experimental group. Results of the analyzed data revealed a significant increase in the cardiorespiratory indices (CO, SV, IRV, ERV) among the participants of experimental group (p < .05). These results tend to interpret that cardiorespiratory fitness of soccer’s players can be improved with the help of 06 week (CRT) program. Apart from this, health and physical education teachers, physiotherapists and other relevant persons can recommend CRT for lifestyles improvement.","PeriodicalId":22954,"journal":{"name":"THE SKY-International Journal of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (IJPESS)","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81690211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Childhood trauma has detrimental impacts on the brain, learning, and socio-moral development into adulthood. Trauma is a mental health as well as an educational problem that poses a serious threat to the academic achievement of students. Public schools have made some progress to become more trauma-sensitive to help build resiliency in students impacted by trauma, but institutions of higher education are lagging in the area of trauma-sensitivity. Physical education teacher preparation programs need a paradigm shift to address trauma with the COVID-19 pandemic posing new challenges. Preparing preservice physical education teachers to be trauma-informed lays the foundation for future teachers to mitigate trauma in schools. Such an effort will align physical education teacher education with public schools in addressing trauma and closing the trauma-sensitivity loop.","PeriodicalId":22954,"journal":{"name":"THE SKY-International Journal of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (IJPESS)","volume":"103 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73845685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Young adults at this stage of their lives are focused on building their professional careers and expanding their social circles, often at the expense of physical activities. However, sufficient evidence supports the importance of continuing physical activities during university days. This article brings together evidence of this impact and highlights the lack of strategies, regulations, and policies surrounding the promotion of physical activities at universities. It spotlights some of the existing barriers, concluding that with existing facilities on most campuses today and the potential benefits of physical activity, its promotion seems to be an opportunity with minimal cost and considerable gains.","PeriodicalId":22954,"journal":{"name":"THE SKY-International Journal of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (IJPESS)","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89002055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The specific objectives are a) to describe students’ behavioural, normative, and control beliefs; b) to establish patterns between the three belief domains; and c) to analyse the impact of the PE lesson frequency on beliefs. A nationwide random stratified sample of 1,736 ninth-grade students in Sweden completed the study’s questionnaire, while the high response rate and the low internal dropout rate support the generalizability of the findings. The data analysis focused on three student groups based on lesson frequency of one, two, and three or more times weekly. On average, students’ answers indicated overwhelmingly positive beliefs. A second-order model with very close fit indexes showed similarities among the three groups. However, testing for the equivalence of the latent mean structures indicated a group non-invariant solution. The study demonstrates interrelation patterns among behavioural, normative, and control beliefs and significant associations between lesson frequency and beliefs.","PeriodicalId":22954,"journal":{"name":"THE SKY-International Journal of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (IJPESS)","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83321623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
