Choudhary, Navjot Kaur","doi":"10.22271/tpi.2023.v12.i5s.20106","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22271/tpi.2023.v12.i5s.20106","url":null,"abstract":"The study has been carried out to explore papaya seed oil extraction techniques which are the new source of edible oil in the food industry. Given the global trend towards the utilisation of solid waste and agricultural leftovers, oil extraction could give economic value to a large number of seeds that are generally wasted. In conventional extraction technology there are many shortcomings, like high consumption of energy, more consumption of harmful chemicals. These have forced the food and chemical industries to find new separation \"green\" techniques which typically use less solvent and energy, such as microwave extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, ultrasound extraction, ultrafiltration, flash distillation, the controlled pressure drop process and subcritical water extraction. Separation under extreme or non-classical conditions is currently a dynamically developing area in applied research and industry. The bioactive compounds present in papaya seeds make its essential oil a promising food for therapeutic benefits. There are traditional and non-traditional methods for extracting oil from papaya seeds. Traditional extraction methods such as soxhlet extraction and solvent extraction as well as non-traditional extraction methods such as enzyme-assisted, ultrasound-assisted, microwave-assisted, and supercritical fluid extractions have been studied. Plants are used to extract vegetable oils, which are then employed in a variety of industrial and food products. This review summarizes the methods and technologies that can be used for the efficient extraction of papaya seed oil, along with its nutritional importance and applications in the food sector.","PeriodicalId":22936,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90974930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the food-derived BPs' extensive spectrum of health benefits and numerous bioactivities, including antioxidant, immunological, anti-ageing, and anti-inflammatory activities, research on these compounds has not been interrupted throughout the past few decades. To balance the daily rise in the intake of functional foods and nutraceuticals, it is important to adopt healthy lifestyle choices. As a result, these peptides are crucial in the creation of numerous functional meals. Additionally, studies have demonstrated that peptide treatments are safer from a toxicological standpoint and have fewer adverse effects than small molecule medications. Long recognized for their culinary qualities, mushrooms have been a favourite food of the most important civilizations in history. They are currently the subject of renewed investigation due to their medicinal properties. Mushrooms provide substantial amounts of necessary proteins, dietary nondigestible carbohydrates, unsaturated fats, minerals, and different vitamins. These nutritional advantages have increased mushroom consumption and led to the creation of a variety of processed mushroom products. Bioactive peptides that have been directly or indirectly isolated from mushrooms or their mycelia are known as mushroom bioactive peptides (MBAPs). The advantages of MBAPs for promoting health and preventing disease, including their antihypertensive, antioxidant, and antibacterial actions, are becoming more widely acknowledged. However, this area is still underdeveloped, and there aren't many pertinent reviews. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to outline the current state of MBAP research with a focus on preparatory and biological operations.","PeriodicalId":22936,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135345145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Surgery & Radiology, CVSc & AH, Bhubaneswar affected in 2022. The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcome of repair of skin defect done through genicular axial pattern graft in the thigh region of hind limb during removal of tumors in small breed dogs. Defects created due to tumor excision were closed through genicular axial pattern flaps in starting from distal tibia to the lower hock region. The clinical outcome, wound closure and healing were very promising and is an example of case-based application. The above findings suggested that genicular axial pattern flaps are a good option for reconstruction of large cutaneous defects of the lateral aspects of the tibia and hock joint in dogs.","PeriodicalId":22936,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89540711","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most frequently encountered horn cancer both in zebu cattle and Gir cow due to their large horn base. Large cauliflower like growth with loosening of the horn at the horn base is the typical sign for horn cancer and necessitate amputation with curetting of the area. Cornual nerve block as anaesthetic protocol and flap method was followed for closure. On cytological confirmation of the sample to be squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), standard chemotherapeutic treatment with Vincristine @ 1 ml/ 50 kg was administered for 3 times at 21 days interval for complete recovery from the horn cancer.","PeriodicalId":22936,"journal":{"name":"The Pharma Innovation","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86529341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
