The circuit-oriented approach has been chosen in order to represent the 6PIM model as a rotating transformer. In fact, a class of universal machine model has been built to be used with simple input electrical parameters such as stator and rotor resistances, self, leakage and mutual inductances. With the model, it is possible to simulate any kind of asymmetry in both stator and rotor sides with or without variations of the machine parameters. A specific six-phase induction machine model, using only resistances, inductances and controlled voltage sources, has been developed. The coupling effects between stator and rotor have been taken into account by the computation of stator-rotor mutual inductances. The maximum power generated by WFDSG in FBR topology is hampered by the armature current commutation overlap under a certain speed. To improve the power density of WFDSG in FBR, FBR with serial compensation capacitors topology is proposed. The influences of the serial capacitors' capacitance on the generation process of WFDSG system are studied in detail. The simulation waveforms under various serial capacitors are obtained and interpreted. The output voltage versus load current and output power versus load current characteristics with various serial capacitors are obtained to instruct the selection of the serial capacitors under different operation situations. The simulation results indicate that the maximum output power of WFDSG will increase distinguishingly and the output voltage regulating rate declines dramatically when the serial capacitors are chosen appropriately compared with FBR topology under the identical circumstances. The proposed control is based on the concept of active power filters. A rotor current is delivered in the opposite direction of the harmonic content to reduces its effect. A incremental fuzzy controller is used within the principle of the traditional resonant control in which the frequency is tuned to six time the synchronous frequency. This method reduces both fifth and seventh harmonic at the same time. A 9MW wind farm is simulated to rate proposed control where some situations with different harmonic content are considered. The approach uses a new dynamic model for surface-mounted PM motors, which is expressed in a synchronous reference frame with orientation on back-EMF vectors. Thus, it is possible to demonstrate under this orientation frame that the electromagnetic torque is proportional to the quadrature stator current similar to the classical vector control. As a result, the torque ripple can be easily minimized even with highly nonsinusoidal back-EMF. In addition, a nonsinusoidal vector control scheme is proposed using an observer to estimate the back-EMFs which are required for the rotor speed estimation as well as for the frame transformations. In order to allow energy efficiency improvement, a hybrid orientation scheme using variable cutoff frequency filters is adopted to select desired back-EMF harmonic components that compose the synchronous reference frame. Consequently, harmonic currents can be reduced at high speed to decrease iron losses. One of the most popular topologies in this field is the 18 pulses diode rectifier, which uses a muItipuIse transformer that realizes a current harmonics cancelation that are generated by the three phase diode rectifiers. In this work an efficiency comparison of the aforementioned topology and a Multi-Cell Active-Front-End (AFE) Rectifier operating with Finite Control Set - Model Predictive Control is performed. This efficiency comparison is focused on the rectifier losses divided into two types. The first one is the semiconductors switching and conduction losses. The second one evaluates the transformer losses, which are studied under two criteria: copper losses (Standard IEEE C57.10-1998) and the K - Factor (Standard IEEE / ANSI C57.110). The results show that the diode based rectifier topology has lower semiconductors losses, while the topology based on AFE rectifiers has lower transformers losses and a less complex design. Additionally the stator/rotor friction contact has been considered. Using the analytical model some electromechanical characteristics of the considered multicell piezoelectric motor have been computed. Instead of the signal injection, it utilizes the self-dynamics of the control loop that inherently adjusts the magnitude of inverters current and voltage in the switching frequency range. Due to no existence of the external signal, the proposed method provides several advantages including reduction of audible noise and core loss, while achieving a good dynamic performance with a high current controller bandwidth. One of the most used tool is MATLAB/Simulink®, which has a broad variety of libraries and is recognized by its reliability. This paper presents a toolbox library for simulation and prototyping of control techniques for three and five phase induction machines, developed in MATLAB/Simulink®and to be used with dSPACE®DS-1104 platform. The software tools and the hardware platform are both described and provide an integrated environment which allows the user to develop and evaluate control techniques for induction machines by means of pure simulation as well as executing them on an underlying hardware platform connected to the machine. One mitigation method is an active vibration absorber and the other method uses rotor angular acceleration measurements to provide virtual inertia for resonance detuning. The wind turbine representation uses a five mass gearbox model, a PMSG model, and aerodynamic simulation of the tower shadow effect. The two mitigation methods are tested by subjecting them to a frequency scan of wind to demonstrate the resonant condition and its mitigation using the methods.
