This study set 8 factors as explanatory variables based on the tri-component attitude model and multi-attribute models and then estimated latent classes by generation. Data from the ‘National Survey of Tax and Benefits’in 2019 and 2020 were used in this study. The latent classes derived were (1)double-attitude, (2)welfare expansion-opposing, (3)welfare-actively supporting, (4)public welfare expansion-supporting, and (5)public welfare expansion-actively supporting. A new type of double-attitude problem was identified in the latent class. It was found that there was a clue to firmly maintain a welfare-actively supporting latent class. It was also found that there was a driving force to support the welfare state in the baby boomers, Generation X, and Generation MZ. However, the welfare attitude toward the welfare state has somewhat retreated in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. This suggests the need for reconsideration of welfare expansion.

To this end, a survey was conducted on 149 victims of the Hyeongje-Welfare Institution on their negative experiences in the institution and their current conditions. Long-term cumulative damage was estimated by comparing the inmates of Hyeongje-Welfare Institution with a comparison group with similar characteristics. \u0000A comparison group was matched from the Korea Welfare Panel Study by using the propensity score matching method. It was confirmed that most of the victims were forcibly taken to the Hyeongje-Welfare Institution and experienced abuse and forced labor. After discharge, a number of people were separated from their family and stopped education. These experiences had a negative impact on their later life, and it was confirmed that they were particularly vulnerable in psychological and economic aspects compared to the comparison group. Based on the findings, this study proposes compensation for damages, psychological and economic support, and establishment of victim support organizations.

The study was conducted by analyzing the process of establishing a father-friendly welfare state. Sweden originally featured a male breadwinner model, but since the 1930s it has gradually transitioned to the world's ideal welfare state and gender-equal society. This transition was made possible through a long period of Social Democrats’ rule and their optimistic views on social engineering. Sweden's male parental leave system started with the conversion of maternity insurance to parental insurance in the 1970s, and a quota system known as 'Daddy Month’ was introduced in 1995. The allocation period was extended to 60 days in 2002 and again to 90 days in 2014. Sweden has not only focused on improving women's work-family balance, but also aimed to create a father-friendly welfare state that guarantees men's family rights, that is, the right to raise children by strengthening the universal parental leave and quota system. This was the result of the long-term efforts of the Social Democrats and the Swedish government to change the traditional gender roles deeply rooted in the home and workplace, and it was the fruit of the value of gender equality through feminism settled in the political arena. This Swedish case study demonstrates the necessity to invest in a multifaceted approach to expanding male participation and raising the female employment rate. This study calls for a reflection on the goal of male parental leave reforms in Korea, the necessity to transition to universal parental insurance, as well as a paradigm shift towards social investment in the welfare state. \u0000

Using Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA), this study examined the efficiencyof LTC facilities and related factors in 229 municipalities in South Korea. The results showed that a greater number of facilities within a municipality(CCR: β = -0.37, p = .000; BCC:β = -0.19, p =.01) and a higher proportion of expenses spent on care for patients with severe illnesses(CCR: β = -0.32, p = .000; BCC: β = -0.32, p = .000 ) were associated with a lower level of efficiency. For this purpose, 157 papers in 22 journals with an impact factor of 1.0 or higher for the last 5 years as of 2020 were analyzed using text mining techniques in the journals registered in the field of social welfare of the National Research Foundation of Korea. According to Results First, an average of 8 papers have been published every year since 2001, mainly ‘family’, ‘women’, ‘policy’, ‘family-friendly’, ‘family-friendly policy’, ‘childcare’, ‘leave of absence’, ‘work family balance’, ‘work family conflict’, and ‘low fertility’. Second, as a result of semantic network analysis, ‘work family balance’ was highly related to ‘gender role’, ‘family policy’, ‘low fertility’, ‘support policy’, ‘family-friendly policy’, and ‘parental leave’. In addition, ‘father’ was found to be highly related to ‘family-friendly’, ‘work family conflict’, ‘family-friendly policy’, and ‘low fertility’ was highly related to ‘childcare policy’ and ‘education for children’. Finally, as a result of the topic modeling analysis, three topics could be identified, and topic 1 was ‘WFBP and gender’, topic 2 was ‘family-friendly policy’, and topic 3 was ‘childcare policy and welfare state ideology’. Based on the results of this analysis, the research trends of WFBP are summarized as follows. First, there is an effort to have a balanced perspective on gender effects in the study of WFBP. Second, WFBP research is deeply related to the low fertility situation, and it is intended to lay the foundation for fertility-related policies and childcare and childcare policies. \u0000

The private sector plays the role of being the final solution of the blind spots of public assistance, supplementing social safety nets, and complementing the public sector. Furthermore, the study found several problems in the public and private sectors: first, the overlapping of public emergency support recipients with other public policy recipients due to the ambiguous boundary; second, the insufficiency of income security for low-income people despite both public and private support. This study selected 140 people with disabilities aged 65 years and older based on the data from a survey by the Gyeonggi-do Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities in 2021. A hierarchical multiple regression model was used to analyze the paths between major variables and verify their moderating effect. The results show the following. First, self-efficacy among older adults with disabilities had a positive effect on their depression―a lower level of self-efficacy resulted in a higher level of depression. Second, social support had a negative association on depression― a higher level of social support led to a lower level of depression. Third, social support moderated the effect of self-efficacy on depression. This study suggests that it is necessary to provide a practical intervention that considers psychological factors such as self-efficacy and the socioenvironmental resource of social support in developing programs and policies intended to prevent depression among older adults with disabilities. \u0000
